The age of the roofs on the property is unknown and always being concerned for ANY leaks, I immediately got into Yelp to put out a project request to find a roofer. Storm Damage responded right away on a Sunday and was able to meet the next day to give an onsite estimate. Given the steep roofline of the barn house style roofing and immediate need given another upcoming storm, the quote was definitely reasonable. Given the short notice and upcoming weather, they put a tarp across the roof to prevent anymore leaking. At the first break in the weather 2 days later, they were on it and got to work. It's a tight area around the unit, so giving a heads up to my neighbors was important. That said, they cleaned up all debris on my side and my neighbors as if they were never there! Huge!!! I have a roof on the main property and a permanent shed left to do. I will be sure to call them back for the next jobs. Thank you guys!!!

We originally hired Building Kingdom for our master bath remodel because their price was good but…read morenot the cheapest and he seemed to understand what we wanted and how we wanted it. Chris was agreeable, polite, and sincere which honestly was a change from some of the contractors we had bid this job. Once the project was started, we learned, all too late, that he and his team were in way over their heads. The following is a list of "issues" we had with the quality, professionalism, and craftsmanship of our master bathroom remodel by Building Kingdom. Asked multiple times to confirm a timeline for the project and was told 3 weeks. Project took 9 weeks to be "complete". 3 Weeks in, Demo still wasn't complete. They left demo garbage at the bottom of my driveway for so long we received letters from the HOA on 2 occasions. Asked multiple times in the beginning to confirm that we had enough floor tile and grout. We were 3 tiles short and he purchased another bag of grout that that did not come close to matching our color. Change order that consisted of a nailing 3 2x4s together and installing them with hurricane straps -$500 Cut a water line in the bathroom without turning off the water to the house, resulting in a water emergency. Shower drain was centered on the shower stall, not the shower floor. Plumbed hot and cold water reversed to the shower valve. Plumbed shower head and hand held reversed. Promised custom frosted glass. Received Manufactured glass with no frost. Cut too far around faucet outlet and installed it anyways. Uneven tiles in corners of shower Shower pan puddled so he had to come back and tear out tile, grout, and mortar. It still puddles. Shower pan grout cracked after 2 weeks of use Built "bump outs" to mount the glass to, but didn't account for the tile depth, so they had to cut a channel in the tile to mount the glass doors. Returned 3 times to properly mount shower door so that it would close properly. Still doesn't close properly. Bullnose border in the niche has 2 sides flush, 2 sides off set Used spacers on some of the floor tile and some not. Resulting in uneven grout lines. Wired the new closet switch incorrectly resulting in no power in the master bedroom for an evening. Crew regularly didn't show up or didn't work while he wasn't here to oversee them. Taped Access panel into drywall leaving no access without cutting or tearing drywall paper. Drywall corners are wavy, generally terrible drywall skills and results. Project included leaving the ceiling "paint ready". Drywall tape is coming off, popcorn left around edges of ceiling. Bench seat grout line cracked and resulted in leaking into our kitchen. Repaired by Chris, cracked and leaked again, and caused severe damages to the kitchen ceiling, wall, and cabinets. His insurance company required 2 written reports, at our expense, to prove that the shower was the cause of the damage. They have taken 54 days to make a reasonable offer to get the shower and kitchen damage repaired. Building Kingdom has been using images of our bathroom on his website to promote his skill when we designed the bathroom and purchased all the materials. A project started on August 17 probably wont be completed (repaired to a usable condition) until after February. This list is just a high level list, it doesnt mention his crew constantly asking for glassware or dishes for their lunch, them locking us out of our bedroom while they "worked", or constantly being told that our project sucked. When the Chris handed the project over to us, we suggested that he leave some of the final payment on the table in order to make up for the timeline being 3 times what he had promised and he did leave about 17% of his original quoted price out of the final payment. However, his insurance company didnt consider that 5+ months of having an unusable master bath shower or damaged kitchen walls was "loss of use" so we are only barely getting our house "back to zero". Every time I go into our bathroom I'm infuriated by the entire situation. Seven months without our shower, wasted time and money, poor quality work, and how much we paid to get into this position. Obviously, I cannot recommend Building Kingdom.

Rather than stating that they're great to work with (which they truly are) let me elaborate on my actual experience. Given I was seeking to remodel an existing porch structure in a pretty significant way, I initially enlisted the services of a structural engineering firm to create drawings for me. Thereafter, I began interviewing prospective contractors to perform the work laid out in the drawings and was quite surprised at the relative indifference and/or opposition shown by several contractors toward the existence of the plans - most claimed there wasn't a need for them or attempted to tell me how engineers just overcomplicate things. Paul, on the other hand, was actually delighted to know that I had these engineering plans in hand and went over them with me at our very first meeting. He was intelligent enough to realize that if he followed the engineering drawings, as laid out; he would have no issues in getting the project through the county code enforcement process which would be a win for both him, as a contractor, and me, as the client. Paul takes a lot of pride in his work and he works hard to please his customers. By nature, I am a very particular individual; and being a Realtor by profession, makes me even more so. Paul took all of my feedback in stride and did everything he could to meet my exacting standards. There were days when I literally hovered over him and his team; more so to learn from them (given my profession) rather than to supervise - but I'm quite sure this couldn't have been a lot of fun for him and the crew. In the few instances where my expectation on certain things happened to exceed the underlying project scope; Paul was very diplomatic in pointing this out to me and we quickly found common ground such that I wasn't compromising his profit margins and was able to fulfill my desires. I also wanted a proper estimate on the front end; as well as, a full paper trail of the project - including change orders - which Paul readily supplied. Paul's pricing was fair and the project was completed within the cost margins of error and project timeline I had planned for. I had a vision for what the porch would look like when completed and Paul provided a lot of good feedback in making my vision a reality. We talked through a lot of different things like material choices, design, electrical outlet locations etc. I'll conclude by saying Paul is just a genuinely good person....period; and anyone who opts to work with him is in good hands. He asked how we wanted to move forward and I said please prepare a quote to which he responded "I don't do that, I can give you a ballpark and if your serious I can be more detailed once you want to move forward". I responded in surprise so what what is your 90% ballpark estimate as we discussed (understanding minor adjustments and design changes can change cost as well as materials prices). His response was 30k so I asked he email me it as we discussed to confirm the size and design and again he said I don't do that and if you want to move forward we can get more detailed. I asked him directly " am I detecting an attitude in your responses as my desire is to make sure we are on the same page. If I can't get the estimating person to provide a basic estimate to build off with out a tone that I should just agree and hand him my cash is unacceptable. A basic estimate would have taken him maybe 15 minutes and would lay out timelines, payment schedule and clarification on what the 30k provides is not to much to expect. Under no conditions would I agree to any work where I get a fraction of my desires addressed / confirmed understanding and then be spoken to like "agree to us doing it then we can address your questions with a condescending tone. I thanked him and walked him to his vehicle. I called the office and explained my dissatisfaction and refuse to use a company that the sales person can not keep his frustration in check and forgot I am the one paying for the project and not some guy on the street that was interfering with his day. Attitude and respect sets the stage and if providing a quote is an annoyance, then don't advertise a free quote (perhaps the old saying you you get what you pay for is true, I paid noting and got my money's worth). I would prefer to pay for an estimate fee and feel my desires were heard and understood as I make my decision. George

I generally leave positive, generous reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others…read more In the last five years, we've completed over a dozen major construction projects across two properties. This is the first time we seriously considered terminating a contractor mid-project. Communication was consistently poor, the project schedule and material ordering were severely mismanaged, and the crew showed up only six days over an almost two month period in the summer when the majority of work should have been completed, contributing to turning what should have been a three month job into a six month project. Job-site cleanup was not maintained, significant errors were made, and there was resistance and defensiveness when those mistakes needed to be corrected. Rather than taking accountability, the company disputed issues that were clearly the result of their own lack of oversight and execution. Overall, the level of service, organization, and workmanship fell far below what we've experienced with other contractors and what you would expect at this price point.
