My girlfriend ended up getting the lamb shish. Generous portion with intensely flavored minced lamb, molded over a skewer and grilled over hot coals. I opted for a couple of meze, Turkish appetizers. The marinated broadbean with dill and olive oil above a bed of yogurt and the lamb kidneys. The broadbeans were also fantastic, tender, but not mushy, with a great combination of flavors. The quantity of yogurt was a bit much for my palate, but still delicious. The lamb kidneys were the star, well seasoned with a generous amounts of sumac. They were still sizzling on the table when they arrived, topped with sliced red onions. Crispy on the outside yet tender and not over cooked at all. Thought it couldn't get better, but another friend ordered some spicy lamb dish that looked like mini grilled burger patties. She gave me a small piece and wow! Imbued with a delightful smokiness from the coals and that hot sauce it was brushed with was the perfect compliment. I am a sucker for spicy food though. Both came with rice, bread, salad, onions, and all sorts of goodness. They grill the meats over charcoal right in the front of the store, so you know it's being done fresh. My friend let me try his lamb too, and it definitely had some spice to it, but was very delicious. The service was pretty quick, though we were the only ones there at the time. You just have to be patient while they grill your meats. And price wise it was very reasonable for lunch. All in all, this was one of the best meals we had in London. If I'm ever heading back to the neighborhood (which would almost certainly be for an Arsenal match), I'll be sure to stop in again.

The decor isn't too bad either. Although still not up to some of the legendary Dalston Turkish grills, this is still a surpisingly good restaurant in a surprising location. We noticed there was no food hygiene rating displayed, which immediately raised a red flag. When we asked about it, the staff said they "didn't know"--even after we pointed out that it's a legal requirement. We looked it up ourselves and found they currently have a Food Hygiene Rating of 1 (as of February 2025). The fact that this wasn't disclosed--and that they wouldn't admit it even when asked--is incredibly concerning. Transparency matters when it comes to food safety. Would recommend caution until they address this properly.
