I stopped here because I was in the area and wanted to bring a red wine for a dinner party. Since I knew the guests were red wine drinkers, I purchased a Pinot Noir. The guests loved it! Although I didn't personally try it, I would have to think it was delicious. I also bought some white wine for myself. Service was excellent and very friendly. Pricing was fair and aligned with other companies. Why not stop here?! read more

DRAFT BEER! DRAUGHT BEER! BEER ON TAP! Holloway Liquor Store hasn't sold real liquor for about 6 years, but, as you may have guessed, they sell beer. They also sell wine and some diluted spirits, but that's it. No liquor. I come here for the beer. I'll drink beer out of a lined can, or out of a dark bottle, but in general, I prefer draft beer. It's fresher and more flavorful...yeah, I know, that's not always the case, but in general, it is. HLS currently has 26 taps that are dispensing local and regional beers, and they will be installing 12 more in the not too distant future. They sell draft beer in 16 oz cans, 32 oz cans/growlers, and 64 oz growlers. They also have a humongous selection of bottled beer and pre-canned...um, I guess what some people call "canned," beer. They also sell wine, pop, and other things you'd find in a party store. THIS is where to come in SoTol/Maumee/Holland when you wanna purchase some FRESH beer. OK. So they got my favorite beer in 6 pack. Did I mention they finally got my fav beer in a 6 pack???!!!!! Watch me dance lol. This is the place to go to find the beer you can't find elsewhere. If they don't have it, they will try to get it for you. There is no liquor here tho except the low alcohol crap you get at walmart. Never really bought wine here so can't help much but it is there. Same great guys behind the desk who always remember me no matter how long I been gone from home. Gave me a free pint glass although I forget my Rewards card every time I come. Yep. $14 for a 6 pack of double IPA pains me but this is Ohio. Gotta pay for what you want read more

This place has it all! Aisles packed with aged beers, not aged beers, colorful label beers, bottled and canned beers.... and tons of stuff you cannot find in Michigan. 3 Floyd's? Yeah, they have that. Columbus? Thats there too. I stopped by on a birthday beer run from the great frozen north and was met with tons of help, great suggestions and beer camaraderie. Don't go anywhere else. If you're looking for something special, go here. They probably have it. They'll even split up a sixer if you just want a single of something AND they have beer on tap. GUHHHHHHH I can't say enough great things about this store. I guess they have wine too? Whatever. That stuff doesn't matter. This is a beer store for beer people. read more

I buy at least $150 a month of wine. I wanted to support this small business so I pulled my purchases from a national supermarket chain to Holloway Carryout. For about a month and a half Holloway worked with me to assure they had the product I wanted at the agreed upon terms of purchase. During my last visit to the store the clerk on duty refused to give me the advertised 10% on full cases of wine. The 10% discount on full cases of wine is a standard for every store from which I have purchased wine. When I pointed out the sign advertising the discount I was told to: 1) leave the store and; 2) not to come back. I politely complied to the first command and will comply to the second in the future. I proceeded to a second wine store where my purchase was made with excellent customer service. read more

There's only a few places in town where you can find almost every style of beer by many of the country's best micro brews. With the closing of the Andersons there's going to be a significant hole in the wine and beer market. Holloway is poised to fill some of that void. Well organized to flavors and beer and wine types. Also the two men helping run the counter were extremely nice and fun, they interacted very well with customers which tells me they appreciate repeat business. I saw one of them interact with a guy who knew nothing about wine but rather than selling him a $40 bottle of wine they asked him a few quick questions and recommended a few $15 to $25 choices, which he bought. I liked they were'nt trying to get a few extra bucks! read more

If you are looking for craft brews this is a good place to go. The have an entire isle of craft brews and imports in single bottles. The wine selection is pretty good too. Also: I should add that they no longer sell liquor, just beer and wine. read more

What a great liquor store. The customer service is phenomenal. One of the owners helped us. It's nice to see a small (non-chain) liquor store succeeding by providing unsurpassed service and great variety. Wish we lived closer, we'd be in here for all of our liquor needs!
