Such a great neighborhood mexican food spot! I visited on a Friday so the daily special was $3 off margarita carafes as well as a $12.99 Quesadilla Loca. We got a carafe of the Barrons Margarita and our server nicely let us pick which rim we wanted (plain, salt, sugar, tajin). In total, we each got about 2 margaritas each since the carafe doesn't have ice in it. For food, we started with their complimentary chips and salsa which was perfectly mild. My friend ordered the Carnita Street Tacos. I liked that you could order whatever quantity you wanted rather than needing to get a meal. My husband and I shared the Quesadilla Loca with ground beef. It came with two side options so we got Fried Plantains and Refried Beans. The portion was huge and came with their queso to enjoy with your meal. Everything was absolutely delicious and I would come back in a heartbeat to enjoy more! Tip: Lupitas is within the Dora Cup area so feel free to stop in and grab a drink to go! Note that they do charge you a bit more to take it to go. read more

Fastest and friendliest service EVER even on a busy evening. Perfect place for an impromptu date night. Live singer was offering up fresh yet soulful renditions of Milky Chance in the beautiful outdoor patio area. We asked to sit in the outside patio area since the weather was just right. Great location in the charming historic downtown area. I had the chili rellenos, which I order at pretty much every Mexican restaurant on my first visit, and it was good. My husband got a great deal on street tacos since we visited on Taco Tuesday. He says thumbs up on the street tacos. The $3.99 margarita was good! We also shared fried ice cream which was divine. 11-1-2024 Came here after a short visit to 577 Foundation. While the establishment was quite welcoming and friendly and the service exemplary, we found the food (fish tacos and Al carbon) just ok and the blue Caribbean margaritas too sweet and watered down. read more

Amazing Mexican restaurant. Drive to Perrysburg for the Salt Cave. My coworker & myself were hungry. We were walking towards Hood park and noticed Lupita's. Soooooo glad we stopped. The food is authentic. Huge portions. The atmosphere is super cute. The staff is very friendly and professional. Received our food very quickly. Even the bathroom is clean. Love this place. The best part of the chimichanga was the refried beans. The Al Pastor inside didn't seem very authentic, and the portion sizes weren't huge. However, I will say that for $12, it wasn't that bad of a meal. I was disappointed with the lack of authenticity though, for a place with such a culturally rich interior. read more

We attended Lupita's soft opening on 21 August with a limited but excellent menu! The typical opening woes, but they were busy, and the food was great. We sat at the bar as it was the first available seating area. They also have an outdoor, partly covered patio that looks great to enjoy a few margaritas in the summer! We weren't super hungry, so we ordered the fajones and a side of mango salsa. The fajones came with quite a serving of chicken and steak grilled up with grilled onions, green bell peppers, and some tomatoes over a bed of rice with some queso blanco on top to tie it all together. The mango salsa was great as well, and it wasn't too sweet. Lupita's has a large selection of margaritas, a few taps, and a full bar. I ordered the house frozen margarita and the golden margarita, and they were immediately ready as they mix up the margs in the back and have them ready to dispense in the frozen or liquid dispensers behind the bar. The golden was all right, but it had a bit of sweet & sour taste while I'm really a fan of a straight up margarita. The house frozen was similar, but with less orange taste. Chalk Lupita's up as another win for the Carlos family of restaurants. We'll be returning as food and service were great - even for a soft opening - but expect this place to be one more busy restaurant along Louisiana Ave! Restaurant is beautifully decorated and clean! Service was friendly and quick. The food was great! My husband got a vegan taco salad with picadillo. I got two street tacos, one with picadillo and one with shrimp. Had black beans and fried plantains for sides. The vegan shrimp taco didn't have a lot of flavor but the vegan picadillo was delicious. The fried plantains were very good, nice change to normal beans and rice sides. We got our son refried beans and rice along with fajita vegetables. I like that the refried beans are clearly noted as vegan. We got a house margarita and golden margarita, both with tanin rim. Chips and salsa were okay. We would definitely return! read more

This was our first time trying Lupita's Cantina. It was a great experience all around and we will be returning. We walked in through the cute patio area and were seated immediately. Both the waitress and hostess were very friendly and welcoming. We were given fresh chips and salsa (the kind you'll find at all Carlos restaurants!). My husband had the Fajones with chicken and steak and a strawberry margarita. I tried the Mexican flatbread. The waitress helped me substitute the meat for black beans as I am a vegetarian. Food was flavorful and delicious! The price of our bill was affordable for what we received. This is another wonderful addition to the Carlos restaurants in NW Ohio. And A LOT better than the old Barron. Tip: Make sure you ask for "Mexican garnish" if you want lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. It is free, but needs to be requested! read more

We are fans of Cocina de Carlos, which have the same owners of Lupitas. We were not disappointed with our visit to Luipitas! I had the flat bread, which turned out to be huge. It could have been split as a shared meal. My husband's order, a burrito, had the wrong meat in it. I think it was due to the waitress not having English as her first language (she did mention that she was working hard on her accent!). That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. We've now been to Lupita's twice-- once on a Friday night and once on a Tuesday night. It's a new favorite restaurant in all of Toledo. The food is (even) better than your favorite tex-mex place and the prices are the same or lower. The choice of sides is awesome. You don't get stuck with beans, rice, or lettuce you don't plan to eat, you can pick from a list of about 10 included sides, which includes queso dip or guacamole. The food is delicious and flavorful but doesn't require an adventurous eater. They have daily specials that are actually worth going for-- Tuesday's street tacos are $2.50 a piece, and house margaritas are $4 a piece (and still a good size). The service is wonderful and the servers, runners, and busboys have been very attentive both times we were there. They don't rush you, but boy do food and drinks come out fast. If you want to relax and be here for a little bit, make sure to wait a little bit to order drinks, apps, entrees, or desserts because the food comes out hot and fresh about 5-10 minutes after you order it. You could absolutely have a whole dinner here in under 40 minutes without trying too hard. The restaurant is clean and the decor is nice. Owner is usually walking around helping take care of the place-- they closed the blinds that we're letting sun in our eyes without us asking. They notice if your water is empty or if you need more chips. Really one of the best restaurants I've been to in the last 4 years in Toledo from atmosphere, to service, to food. read more

Everything from the visual appeal to the cleanliness of the restaurant, to the food and the high level operation Carlos and his staff are running. The food was excellent-- I ordered the Burrito Sancho the Mexican flag way that has 3 separate sauces. Lupita's was certainly worth the wait for all of Perrysburg as they have built something great to stay. It's very apparent how much time and thought has been put into this establishment.
