I could understand if it were 30 days out, but it is 4 months away. *PSA* Always get everything in writing. If you book this venue, make sure that it is a solid event. Couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. In both cases, the villas we got exceeded our expectations. The company was very hands on in helping us arrange airport travel, a chef, and even a pre-stocked fridge. In Playa, the local rep working with Villas Caribe took us to the supermarket, recommended her favorite restaurants, and helped us get a prime spot for a group of 10 at Diablito Cha Cha Cha. I doubt the latter "comes standard" but we appreciated the personal concierge touch. Wish they had more options in the Mediterranean but when it comes to the Caribbean, we will definitely go this route in the future.

Several companies have the listing of the house I booked, and Villas Caribe had the same price but attractive website. I called to book for a 10 day stay in STJ in April, 2012. The booking girl 'Brittany' was very helpful and cheerful. She took the details, verified the next year price with the owners and got all approved, then sent me the lease agreement paperwork. I WAS EXCITED TO BE BOOKING MY VACATION AND GOT CAUGHT IN A TECHNICALITY!!!! The agreement states a credit card fee (NO AMOUNT OR PERCENTAGE STATED) but I let my excitement miss this detail. So, I booked my vacation and charged it to my CC, along with travel insurance. When I checked back I found a 3.5% CONVENIENCE FEE!!! (AND THEY CHARGED ME MORE FOR INSURANCE THAN THE AGREEMENT STATED).. THEY STILL HAVE NOT EXPLAINED THAT!! I called back (within a few hours) and asked for the charge to be reversed and I will wire transfer the booking fee. They told me 'accounting' wont allow a reversal WITHOUT STILL CHARGING THE 3.5% FEE!!!. I am in business and know that a cc charge can always be reversed, especially since I requested a reversal within 24 hours. ANYWAY.... READ ALL THE FINE PRINT AND EXPECT ANY CHARGES TO BE MUCH HIGHER THAN EXPECTED. IF THEY CAN 'GET' YOU THEY WILL!! I am stuck with them this time but will NEVER use them again! REPEAT: 3.5% CC 'CONVENIENCE' FEE UNWILLING TO REVERSE CHARGES CHARGE MORE FOR TRAVEL INSURANCE THAN THEY STATED. Terrible way to start a vacation. Oh, yeah.... Wow! We had a fabulous weekend at this resort…read more My cousin, who lives near Atlanta decided to have her wedding at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee. She wanted her friends and family to stay at the resort for the weekend, making the event more like a reunion with a lovely lakeside ceremony on the agenda. We arrived on Thursday afternoon. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very friendly. All of the suites are located in one area of the resort close to the water. The room we were given was comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. We were a short walk from the lake, pool, restaurant, and pro shop. I visited the pool throughout the weekend and enjoyed views of the lake while sipping on drinks I purchased from the restaurant just inside the clubhouse. My cousin's wedding ceremony was held lake-side on the lawn behind her suite. It was a beautiful sitting. We spent the rest of the day boating and playing games on the lawn. The entire event was relaxing and enjoyable. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for an affordable yet comfortable place to stay on lake Oconee. This resort is especially appealing for families and golfers.

Their property is enveloped with so much care, love and passion. The details of the architecture, amenities and furniture are exquisite. If you utilize their properties, you can mark it off your bucket list that you got to stay in a mansion. The best part? They were helpful and easy-going. They answered all of my OCD questions and ensured my family and friends made memories that will last a lifetime. The Plantation is an expansive home with 10 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms with lake access, a private pond, a separate guest house, a salt-water pool, hot tub, outdoor pavilion, two fire pits, theater room, 2 screened-in porches, garden trellis, horse stable and pastures, free access to kayaks and a paddleboat as well as access to rent their pontoon boat.
