This review is for Llama Yoga only. We (group of 3) booked online through their website a couple weeks in advance for the 11:30 am session on Sunday, November 14, 2021. It was $50 per person for a one-hour session. We arrived at 11:20 and we didn't actually start until about 11:40, so we had some time to explore the area. We left around 1:15 pm, so plan for about 1.5-2 hours for this experience. It's so unassuming from the street! You would never know they have a whole farm back there! Llama Yoga was very intimate, with only 10 people, plus the instructor. They provide yoga mats, a block, and a ball (not sure if they clean these between sessions though). It was so relaxing, with the instructor giving us options to modify many of the moves. There was light music in the background. Unfortunately, the llamas didn't actually join us for yoga, but we were able to interact with them after and get all of the pictures we could ever want. They gave each of us a bag of carrots to feed them too! $50 per person is a little overpriced, especially for a yoga session and basically a glorified petting zoo after, but it was still a cool and unique experience. I guess you could say it's for a good cause, since they rescue the animals!

Absolutely incredible, peaceful and moving experience. I came solo during a work trip to Atlanta and I'm so glad I found this beautiful sanctuary! From the start, Lanise was welcoming and shared knowledge about the location, animals and the purpose of the space. The practice was peaceful, refreshing and exactly what I needed. I can't wait to visit every time I come back to Atlanta for work.

Figgy's neck nuzzles.

The first time I visited was during the pandemic. It was a lonely time for most. From the moment I stepped on the grounds it was as if I had been transported far away from the constant noise of the city. I was hooked after my first visit and return as often as I can. The term "Empathic Llama" may sound silly to some. Figgy is like no other animal I've ever been around. The Alpaca Treehouse in the Bamboo Forest should be on everyone's bucket list. It's truly magical and I'm grateful. Kara & Kate are two of my favorite human beings. They are the most hospitable people I've ever met.

Awesome hidden gem in Decatur. I believe it's over priced for the one hour experience but I would definitely do it again and possibly rent out the tree house for a longer experience . Very friendly and uplifting atmosphere.

This space is magical and a refuge for the rescue llamas, alpacas, long haired bunnies, and chickens that call the treehouse grounds home. The treehouse is expertly decorated and feels as if you are staying in a foreign country. Staying there felt like a breath of fresh air to my soul. The lush bamboo and Bali bed create space where conversations make time stand still. I adore the land, the kind owners, and the animals that is a must do on your list for ALL Atlantans and everyone else, too!

Right here in East Atlanta - tucked down in a bamboo forest, my inner child is unleashed in this magical, rustic tree house where I managed to make plenty of friends, all of whom appear to have come from a Dr Seuss story. But seriously folks.....my husband and I are currently celebrating our anniversary here and can't say enough good things about this little paradise. The alpacas and llamas are incredibly cute. The tree house....Very clean - smells amazing inside! Is that cedar? Wow! So many options for relaxing as the bamboo forest envelopes you. Not sure if we'll sleep in the oh so comfy tempurpedic bed up in the loft, or.... the swinging Bali bed underneath the tree house. Either way, I'm sure I'll sleep like a baby and have some fantastical dreams here in this paradise. You MUST visit this place!!!

Alpacas AND llamas!

My husband got me tickets to this BEAUTIFUL place for my birthday and oh my goodness! Kara is amazing! She has a heart of gold and she knows so much about her farm, the history of her animals, the history of her property it was breathtaking! We got a wonderful tour of the bamboo woods, the barn and OF COURSE the Llamas and Aplacas! They were the height of the visit, we got to feed them carrots, pet them, and just have fun with them! We came from Texas to see her and her farm and it was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of my trip! She even has a gift shop! A definite must see in Atlanta!

Is the Llama & Alpaca experience wheelchair accessible?

Hi Kate! We have access to the habitat via the concrete driveway. There are some areas that are hard packed dirt with tree roots. But the bulk of the experience is on a flagstone path. We have had folks in wheelchairs visit

Couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. In both cases, the villas we got exceeded our expectations. The company was very hands on in helping us arrange airport travel, a chef, and even a pre-stocked fridge. In Playa, the local rep working with Villas Caribe took us to the supermarket, recommended her favorite restaurants, and helped us get a prime spot for a group of 10 at Diablito Cha Cha Cha. I doubt the latter "comes standard" but we appreciated the personal concierge touch. Several companies have the listing of the house I booked, and Villas Caribe had the same price but attractive website. I called to book for a 10 day stay in STJ in April, 2012. The booking girl 'Brittany' was very helpful and cheerful. She took the details, verified the next year price with the owners and got all approved, then sent me the lease agreement paperwork. I WAS EXCITED TO BE BOOKING MY VACATION AND GOT CAUGHT IN A TECHNICALITY!!!! The agreement states a credit card fee (NO AMOUNT OR PERCENTAGE STATED) but I let my excitement miss this detail. So, I booked my vacation and charged it to my CC, along with travel insurance. When I checked back I found a 3.5% CONVENIENCE FEE!!! (AND THEY CHARGED ME MORE FOR INSURANCE THAN THE AGREEMENT STATED).. THEY STILL HAVE NOT EXPLAINED THAT!! I called back (within a few hours) and asked for the charge to be reversed and I will wire transfer the booking fee. They told me 'accounting' wont allow a reversal WITHOUT STILL CHARGING THE 3.5% FEE!!!. I am in business and know that a cc charge can always be reversed, especially since I requested a reversal within 24 hours. ANYWAY.... READ ALL THE FINE PRINT AND EXPECT ANY CHARGES TO BE MUCH HIGHER THAN EXPECTED. IF THEY CAN 'GET' YOU THEY WILL!! I am stuck with them this time but will NEVER use them again! REPEAT: 3.5% CC 'CONVENIENCE' FEE UNWILLING TO REVERSE CHARGES CHARGE MORE FOR TRAVEL INSURANCE THAN THEY STATED. Terrible way to start a vacation. Oh, yeah.... I asked for a manager or owner to call..... Some guy named Stewart called and would not help me at all. Ignored my emails, wont call back.

Decatur Alpaca Farm is more of a lifestyle than a physical space. Nestled in an unassuming…read moreresidential neighborhood, this magnificent microfarm and its beautifully manicured gardens, impeccably clean grounds, and hilariously entertaining animals offers such a whimsical and interesting escape from the hustle and bustle of the city -- it is an escape you surely will not want to miss. Marykay, who is by far one of the most interesting, friendly, and intelligent people we've ever met, greeted us with a fresh bowl of eggs hatched that same day from her flock of 25 chickens. The alpaca herd was visible from the nearby gate -- all were happily chomping away at a pile of orchard grass (which Marykay later informed us is the equivalent of alpaca pizza). They are inquisitive, yet a little shy, but if you respect them they will return the favor. Both alpacas, chickens, and cottage guests have plenty of space so as not to intrude upon one another. We opted for the Alpaca Experience, which is an absolute must-do for all guests. It is incredibly informational and as interactive as you'd like for it to be -- assuming you are putting the animals' needs ahead of your own. Marykay is incredibly knowledgeable and has literally built the farm from a small chicken coop to a very impressive, tidy, organized alpaca haven. It is very evident that all animals are so loved, respected, and maybe just a bit spoiled from time to time. All are rescued from varying degrees of past hardship but their new life on Marykay's farm is a blissful existence, as evidenced by their calm, enthusiastic, and curious demeanor. The cottage itself is adorable -- easily comparable to the spaces and vibes found in Garden and Gun or Southern Living. The refrigerator is stocked with all the conveniences of home, snacks and beverages are available for those late-night cravings, and coffee at the ready for early risers. Everything was clean, warm, cozy, and loved -- just like the farm animals. Dare we mention the alpaca fiber blankets available throughout the space? The entire experience is what you make of it. Should you want to hole up in the house (not recommended when alpaca/chicken watching is so entertaining and the spirit of the various flower/vegetable/dyes gardens being so alive, but who are we to tell you how to spend your time), Marykay will absolutely respect your boundaries. But, if you're looking to truly experience something unique, as her a few questions. You will not be disappointed. We travel often and book via Airbnb regularly, however no place has been quite as comfortable, unique, interactive, and interesting as Decatur Alpaca Farm. Marykay has created something so unique and heartwarming -- every open-minded adventurer should include this place as a stop on the bucket list. As for the casual traveler, a couple nights in her garden will erase all stress, even if the alpacas are not your thing. We did not want to leave.

She welcomes everyone here, and I don't mention that lightly in 2021. I used the property for a visual project some years ago, and kept in touch because it was that moving of an experience. And don't get me started on the majesty of the alpacas - my goodness!!! Feeding them carrots might be one of the highlights of the past decade. What a hidden gem right near the city of Atlanta. Do your spirit a favor and definitely visit!

There were a lot of instructions but it was very clear what was needed and it was rather an easy process. It was a little weird emailing a selfie of myself but fine if that was all they needed for proof of who I was and that we had checked in. The room/apartment was amazing. It felt like a home and large enough to feel comfortable. We used the kitchen and dining area as we were there a few days. Everything was available from plates and cups to sponges and dish soap. However, there were only bath samples enough for one use so if you are planning on staying more than one night then bring your own shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. The white towel situation is very strict so if you don't want to be charged for soiling the linens in any way, bring your own towels. The location is central and private parking is available right in front of your apartment unit. I never heard any noise from neighbors and we were required to take out our own trash since it was basically an apartment complex. I had no issues with any of the rules and would gladly stay here again. We really loved it and it was way cheaper than any of the hotels in downtown Atlanta.

I…read moredid not realize there would be a difference between the pictures posted online and what I would actually be renting. While the "bedroom/living room" portion was updated, I was surprised to learn that the kitchen and especially bathroom were not. I don't feel like anyone should be surprised when it comes to a purchase, so this review is accompanied by actual pictures of the Studios on 25th (standard) located at 47 25th Street Northwest in Atlanta. TIPS: -Be prepared for TONS OF TRAFFIC at this location (not the hotel's fault) -Bring your own towels and toiletries. You'll arrive and find two bath towels, and two hand towels. There are palm-sized containers of a shampoo, conditioner, and body soap -- good for one use only. -There is no on-sight front desk, so check in will require you to take photos of the following and submit them online to complete your virtual check-in experience: Picture of self holding your DL, Picture of your credit card that you used to book, and picture of the credit card you'd like to use for damages -Speaking of damages, while I was not charged for anything extra, please be very careful. There are lots of rules, including warnings about soiling their towels, or throwing away empty cleaning supply bottles. There is a minimum damages fee if any damages are assessed, so just read all the fine print. And don't forget to take your garbage out at the end of your stay! That's part of your check out list. By the way, the minute I stepped into the room and realized it was nothing like the pictures, I immediately contacted management. They advised me that I booked the **standard** room, so I was in the right place. It's just too bad that the pictures advertising the place did not match up to the actual room. Anyway, it's not a bad place, but since this trip was a graduation present for my daughter, I was sort of embarrassed at the accommodations I'd unwittingly chosen. I don't know why there are no photos available of the standard studio, especially the bathroom. Anyway, I've included them so future potential guests can be truly informed before making a decision. If you just need a clean, quiet place to rest your head and you hate hotels, this might work for you. EDIT: In response to the owners notes below, I would add that (1) The room was well over $100 a night. I stayed three nights and paid $451 with tax. It is currently advertised on booking.com for $126 a night for the standard room. (2)The pictures I've posted are of the actual room I stayed in. I did not do any sort of photo magic or editing. That's the room I had. What about the pictures is inaccurate? The bathroom has not been renovated since the 60's. It could be upgraded using vintage styled finishes if one was truly going for a vintage look and there would be no need to tear the building down to renovate the bathroom. The way it is now, some choose to call it "vintage", I call it old and outdated. It needs way more than some caulking. (3) The one star review reflects the bait/switch tactics that made me feel like I'd been fooled. The pictures on booking.com are, at the very least, misleading. The photos of the upgraded units are mixed in with the standard units, and not one advertising picture *accurately* depicts the bathroom. Yes, the unit is quiet, clean, and a unique departure from the standard hotel. However, the consumer has the right to know the whole story. For some people, even with the un-renovated bathroom, the unit would be fine. The goal of my review was simply to make potential guests fully aware of all aspects of the room. (4) This company has a few properties in the area. Not only that, but they have normal, updated studios in the very building I stayed in. I imagine the good reviews are from people who've had the benefit of better accommodations than I had.

We cooked some of our meals at the cabin in the well-stocked kitchen. There is a full fridge, stove/oven and a full set of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils and silverware. It got cold enough that we made hot apple cider and lit the wood burning fireplace. It was also nice to have the hot tub to soak in after a day out on the town in the cold.
