Checked Yelp and Armato Ice & Firewood Co. popped up. I messages the number at 8pm, and Tony responded within 15min. I explained the situation, and he apologized because he said my order was too small for a delivery (I only needed 5lbs), so I would have to pick up dry ice from their shop on E 88th Street. Cool, no problem. Next morning, 8:30 am, i went to business address to pick up 5lbs, and called Tony but he was stuck in rush hour traffic for another hour. He graciously offered to drop off dry ice to my hotel before noon, during their normal deliveries. Even though it was a small order, he understood my situation and cared enough to help me keep my food frozen for the next few days, so my PA family can enjoy authentic Samoan food. Places like Rite Aid in my building started stocking up on ice. This company is on notice 24 hours and will deliver it to your home or business. This morning the very friendly employees were loading the freezer in my neighborhood. These are well stocked for the delivery men to pick up the ice for delivery when you need ice. I'm telling you that if you have a picnic or big celebration you will have plenty of ice and it's delivered to your door. I'm recommending!

Tom called us back within minutes, arranged to have his top guy, Gregg, come to our house and evaluate the damage. Gregg showed up, determined what was needed, and returned with a crew to clear the tree and debris, allowing us to access our home. This was all accomplished just 4 hours after the tree fell. They returned on the following day to take down the remainder of that tree and another tree that was destroyed. All debris was removed, the stumps ground down, the yard left immaculate. I recently called Joe and requested he provide a quote for an elderly friend of the family who needed MANY tree limbs removed from trees growing in the neighbor's yard. After I filled up, Gary told me the price would vary each time I refilled based on market prices but then his larger colleague insisted that $35 was their starting and flat rate. There is also no store front, driveway, or price list; just a weird vacant area with a sad greenhouse and firewood. I should have known to drive away when I drove up but the place was conveniently located and I figured I would give it a try. I feel tricked and taken advantage of for being a woman and for being someone who didn't know better.

The crew was on time, professional, completed the job and cleaned all of the debris away. They made sure that they went to my neighbor's house to clean any dusts that flew to their side as well. The job wasn't easy and my garage was right underneath the major branches. The tree trunk was sitting in a very narrow space as well. The crew tied a rope to every major branch and lowered it down with the best care they could. I am very happy with their service and the price was very reasonable. I called 2 other tree companies and Evergreen Tree Specialist was the quickest to respond. Carl, the owner came to our house and gave us a quote right then and there. His quote, compared to the other 2 was the most reasonable. I called on a Wednesday and as soon as we agreed on the price, Carl and his team came in the following day to start working. Because we had a huge tree, it took his team a day just to cut it. They came back the next day (Friday) to pick up the rest of the logs, cleaned my backyard and even my neighbor's backyard since there were saw dusts everywhere. Then on Saturday they took out the stump (they had to bring in a special machine for this). It took them about 1.5 hours to get rid of the stump. My overall experience with this company was excellent! Carl and his team are professionals, honest, the price was reasonable (given the size of the tree and amount of labor they put into the job - it took 5 workers to do the job) and response time was quick. Carl was all about getting the job done. In fact he told me that he didn't want me to pay him until his job is completely done! I highly recommend Evergreen Tree Specialists for all your tree needs!

We paid them $7,000 -- a wildly overpriced amount -- but because they did a good job for us in 2022, we trusted them again. That trust was a huge mistake. It is now three months later and my yard is still in complete despair. The owner, Joe, specifically agreed to also remove the stump, and yet it still sits rotting in my backyard. Because of this, weeds have overtaken the space and my family hasn't been able to enjoy our backyard the entire summer. I have called, texted, and left voicemails multiple times. Joe occasionally responds just enough to string me along, then disappears to chase new projects and new customers' money, while completely ignoring the work I already paid him for. His behavior is unprofessional, dishonest, and absolutely disgraceful. At this point, I've contacted officials, and my attorney will be handling this matter moving forward. Save yourself the money, time, and stress -- this company will scam you, waste your summer, and leave your yard in worse condition than before.
