It was amazing to watch these guys work and the before and after is equally amazing. If you need some tree pruning or a major overhaul of your backyard tree situation, call these guys and no one else. Picked this tree service out of many as he called back promptly. Workers arrived on time and cut down tree. I mentioned to owner when he accepted job that I needed 3 branches cut from from tree that are hitting wires. He said no problem no extra charge. When workers arrived they said they didn't know anything about it and refused to do . Very rude and asked if we wanted them to leave. They eventually called their boss and he supposedly said they could do it. We then paid the worker. They only trimmed a few leaves and left. We called Scottie and explained and he said he would send them back to take off branches even though he said they told him they had done it. As of this date we haven't seen or heard from anyone. Also I just had tiles put down on front steps that were chipped when one of the workers dropped a branch on it. Didn't notice until they left! read more

This is the second time I have used Scottie's Tree Service on Staten Island and I wanted to write a review because I am so happy with their service. Each time I needed them, they responded very quickly by coming to my house and providing advice and an estimate. The job was scheduled within days. The first job was actually cutting a giant branch in my neighbor's yard that hung over my property. I was nervous that it would inconvenience my neighbor but she was impressed with how fast it got done and how they left her yard cleaner than it was! I would highly recommend Scottie's Tree Service for tree removal! They were punctual, super nice, and EXTREMELY efficient!! I watched from a second floor window as they took down a pretty big tree and it was nothing short of amazing! The precision they had with breaking down the tree was something to see. I had 2 very large pine trees on my property that the city had cut back on the street side so bad that we had to take them down. The Trees were about 70' tall. Close to my house and to my neighbors as well. Scottie's came on a Saturday and started working around 730. They had removed both Trees and stumps by 1pm. The precision they used to take them down was incredible. A bucket truck and a worker gaffes the other tree to make efficient use of their time and workers on site. All very professional gentleman and worked so hard. I have zero complaints about them. They cleaned up like they were not even here. I can not say enough how great they were with my job. I highly recommend them and I have to which others have used them as well. Great company and great prices as well. read more

I had called five different tree services and Scottie's was the only one that responded and showed up! I could not believe how unresponsive the other tree service companies were. I spoke to Scottie direct. He is a likeable guy and provided a fair estimate. I had him remove trees/bushes from two properties. First he made an appointment with me for a couple of days from my call to him to review the job and provide an estimate. He accommodated my schedule by coming out on a Saturday. He made an appointment to take care of both properties within the week. He showed up with a crew of about 10 guys who plowed through the work. He had the proper equipment for the large job and his crew did a good job of cleaning up afterward. I would recommend Scottie's to anyone, especially if you have a big job. read more

We are 100% satisfied with Scottie's Tree Service. We've been using a different service over the past 8 years, which we were happy with up until the last couple of years. They became quite unreliable. Scottie's came out to give us an estimate, gave us a date for a couple of weeks later (not an emergency, so perfectly reasonable), he called the next day asking if we wanted them to come that afternoon since they had a cancellation. We were even happier that we could get the work done sooner. They came, cut down our very large tree, also cut back the stump on a tree the other service didn't do properly, cleaned up, and were gone in two hours. We would not hesitate to call them again. We had Scottie's tree service prune our trees 5 years ago and although they were short they grew in beautifully. Fast forward 5 years and we needed pruning again so we called Scottie and no one else. I told him to look at 2 of my trees and he said they were dead and needed to be removed; he would prune the other 2. I agreed but we had to cut the deck to remove the trees. Now even though he said we would need to replace the deck boards; the cut they did was horrific. It was all crooked and a mess and then they tried to prop up the job with one scrap planter box we had removed. After complaining to Scottie he took money off which was appreciated. Here we are a few days later and we noticed they broke part of our fence which is now cracked, scratched and filthy from the scuffs. They also left our spigot in the "on" position that almost burst- I know they used the hose because I saw one of the guys washing his hands. Also, the first 2 trees he said he would cut are really small; they said they used the same cuts as last time and when I compared them to pics, they are way shorter; hopefully they don't die!! Overall Scottie is very nice but he should've been here when the job started, not just to collect money, as his workers did not take care when doing their job. Go elsewhere!! read more

Scotty's tree service was supposed to come out today to give us an estimate on the cleanup and removal of a tree at lunch. When they did not call or show up by 4 o'clock I called them and they said someone was on the way and would call soon. Nobody called until nearly 5 and when they did they said they couldn't get out there to give an estimate until next week and suggested we go with another service. We recently finished building our home and Scottie's cleared the lot for us. There were 3 trees in the front that belonged to the city that we weren't allowed to remove. They were a complete mess with dead branches and shoots sprouting all around. Scott said he would come back and prune them when we got the permit from the city. Fast forward a year and a half later. We are now living here and get the permit to prune. I thought Scott was going to give us the run around and avoid us since he had already been paid. (After building a home, you experience this often). Not Scott! He was true to his word. He came and did the best job he could having to keep within the limits of the city permit. He also treated us with respect and kindness. Trust me when I tell you that there are many contractors that would be bitter and nasty and not even show up for the job.
