Hanging out with my sister and grown nieces painting pottery was a ball. The girls night out event was an over 18 event with some risque pottery involved, but I absolutely loved it. We laughed and joked all night long and I felt the prices were fair. I love that it is family owned and they have Christmas trees that you can paint to put together a light up ceramic tree kit. My Grandma had a white one and unfortunately, after she passed, it was broken. We've decided as a family that is going to be a special project this year, that every family will paint and have one as a way to remember her as she and my grandfather were very special people. I really enjoyed myself and the staff was very nice. This is a great place to bring your kids, have a date night, or bring your aging parents. It truly is fun for all ages. I do have a fun idea for them, if they had a kit to sell to do pet paw prints, then bring it back to be fired and glazed, that would be cool, or have a day where pets can come to the parking lot and have their pawprint painted and put on something and then it's glazed and fired, that would be another cool something to do as a special theme! Let's keep this place in business yall! Show them some love, go visit and leave them a review! Laporte needs cute places like this. Tourists love places like this but as locals, we need to patronize places like this in the winter months to keep them thriving. We will certainly be back!

We decided to do the guided house and garden tour for $20 per person. It was well worth it. Our docent professor Craig was the absolute best! He knew every detail about the history of the Barker family, their beautiful home and lavishly furnished home, as well as the history of the family business. One thing that impressed me most was that the heirs of the original Barker family have made it their life's mission to spend an unlimited amount to restore the ancestral family home back to its former glory! This is a Michigan City treasure and I highly recommend visiting- especially in the summer when the garden is in full bloom!!

This is a really really nice small university art museum. My friend and I went here to view a…read morespecific exhibit but we really enjoyed the entire museum. While we were taking a look around a lady from the museum (head curator maybe?) came and talked with us about the current exhibit and the woman artist. She was very knowledgeable and provided us with many interesting facts. It was lovely that she took time out of her day and voluntarily did this. The museum is free of charge but they have contribution bucket near the front doors; they deserve a generous donation.
