I appreciate a hotel that doesn't require valet- I can park myself in the parking garage. Hotel is on the water, the boardwalk and a wonderful assortment of shops, hotels and restaurants. The lobby felt small- there was a conference on one side of the main floor and a small lobby, seating area, check in desk and gift shop. The other side was the Latitudes Restaurant and outdoor bar. The hotel is dated, in need of renovations. Especially the bathroom. Cracked tiles in the shower, plus grout stains & the shower floor was very slippery. The views were great- we had an ocean view. This hotel does a good job controlling humidity inside the hotel- which I really wanted to note since most Florida hotels, especially close to the water, have a mildew scent and feel moist. It was dreary and rainy during our stay- but we did get to walk the boardwalk and beach a little in between rain breaks. read more

Location location location sums it up. This hotel is in a perfect spot if the boardwalk and beach is your goal. Complimentary Champaign toast during certain hours and complimentary beach chairs. Staff was all friendly and check in easy.. valet was super nice and very quick. Partial ocean view room upgrade was perfect and did not disappoint. We didn't try the restaurant as we had some epic places close to here in scope but the beach bar came through. I feel like this was a 4.5 with some updates needed. We decided to enjoy a staycation to celebrate a special occasion. Although this hotel is only forty minutes from home, we instantly felt as though we were on vacation the moment we arrived. Every aspect of our stay has been exceptional--truly a 10 out of 10 experience! Alexis at the front desk went above and beyond to make our son's birthday weekend unforgettable. Our room was an executive king suite on the tenth floor. It was very spacious and had a wonderful partial ocean view. The snacks available at the front desk are fantastic, and the smoothies by the pool are equally outstanding when you are vacationing with kids. The fact that the hotel is a bit outdated did not affect us at all. The staff (front desk, waitress, pool attendant, housekeeper, etc... were so friendly and accommodating!) I checked in late last night around midnight and the first room 310 had an AC with a loud vibration noise! I returned to the front desk and they moved me to room 324. The room warm, so I turned down the AC and went to sleep! I woke up at 4:30 am sweating due to the AC not working! I went ahead and started to jump in the shower only to discover the hot water heater was also not working. I did not have time to contact the front desk only to have maintenance verify it! I went ahead and left for the airport! I just contacted the hotel and as I suspected. They said, since you didn't call maintenance at the time! All we can do is credit you a $20 destination fee on about a $400 bill! Craziness for sure! I found it hard to believe as I am Bonvoy member! Listen, there are no other choices if you want to stay at a Marriott on Hollywood Beach. Period! With that said, this place was ok. Very overpriced, for what you get, but ok. I used points and it was very high (70k/night). Otherwise, $480/night. Most rooms are partial view of ocean. That's ok. Not bad. As long as you are on a high floor. Restaurant on premise was good. Bar big and great (outside/inside). Pool area is outside and nice. Set on the Broadwalk and somewhat centrally located. They have lounge chair service for the beach, which is very convenient. On top of each other, so if you're an adult, beware of families. That will ruin your tranquility instantly. Families should be one side and adults on the other. Hotel service is super kind. Kadie was super nice. Champagne everyday for free from 12pm to 5pm. Delicious. Free snacks too. Overall great, as there are no other choices. Rooms are standard, but overall ok. I booked a week-long stay at the Hollywood Beach Marriott. On the first night, I woke up with bites and reported them to the front desk, but they seemed to overlook the possibility of bed bugs. By the second night, I had even more bites, which raised my concern since I had never been exposed to bed bugs or experienced anything like this. As a Marriott member, I had never encountered this issue in any other location I've visited. I requested a room change, and the hotel promptly accommodated my request without any questions. After being seen at the nearest urgent care, I received verification from a doctor: YES, I was bitten by bed bugs. I submitted an incident report to Marriott immediately and also reported the issue to Expedia. The hotel is refusing to compensate me for my losses, my time, and is denying any refunds. I've lost two days of my vacation washing my clothes and disinfecting my belongings. I advise against staying in this hotel if you want to avoid this situation. read more

If you stay here do not venture outside of area at night! The boardwalk gets pretty seedy at night! We tried walking south for some ice cream and came across various drug addicts harassing us. Also the hotels towards the south, Neptune for example, have a raunchy crowd and there was a naked man wielding a bottle of vodka at his open window! The rooms in the hotel were ok but a bit dated. Cleaning ladies did work hard to keep the rooms clean. The elevators were not all functional so getting to rooms was challenging. Also restaurant was good and so were the servers! Such a disappointment. Would not recommend. The facilities were okay, but nothing great, and the cost is astronomical. For the price, I was expecting a nicer place. We chose this place so we would have a handicapped accessible room for my grandmother. I reserved 2 rooms, 2 queen beds in each, one handicapped accessible. I was told they'd be connecting. I called the week before to confirm and was told they would be connecting. I called the day before to confirm and was told it would be connecting, But the only handicap accessible rooms have king size beds. I asked if there was a couch or something or a cop and they said yeah there's a couch. We got there, the rooms were not connected. That's not so bad, but the crazy part is there's no way they would ever be connecting as they do not provide that. So I'm not sure why I was told that twice. There was also no couch. They do not provide couches in any of their rooms. I am sharing a bed with my grandmother. It was dirty and just enough things were wrong. We stayed a Friday to Monday. First off, we were unable to check in at 4. The front desk said they would text us when it was ready. We waited around and I finally asked after awhile, and they said oh yeah it's ready! Our fridge made a high pitched whine, which was so bad we had to unplug it at night. When I went to open the curtain on the balcony, the handle came off- it was not screwed on, just placed there. The buttons on our remote control didn't work. The body wash bottle in the shower was off the wall, still attached to its holder, but everything just placed in the shelf area. The floor was so dirty we had to keep shoes or socks on, or the bottom of our feet would be black. That was really gross. There were wires visible around the mirror. The water pressure was abysmal and the heat was on a regulator so I never fully felt clean. I'm ok if it isn't a fire hose, but I appreciate more than a full trickle. We waited on Saturday for housekeeping to tell them, but the room was never cleaned. When I called to the front desk, the lady said they'd send people right up. We waited for maintenance, and I said please fix it, we need dinner at this point. We went to dinner and the hotel called us asking where we were. I said I had told maintenance they were allowed in and that we needed food. Maintenance did exchange our fridge and fix the handle on the curtains. Oddly enough, when we returned, there were 2 bottles off the shower wall. I called the front desk to let them know so they could fix it on Sunday, and also that housekeeping didn't do their job, and the man was very argumentative and kept insisting that we had put a privacy marker on our door. I assure you we did not. He was accusing and rude. I asked him if he expected us to stay in the room our entire vacation, waiting for them to fix all of the things wrong with it. He's the reason I am writing this review. Nothing happened Sunday with maintenance, even though we told the staff again about the bottles in the shower and the remote. We tried the in-room coffee. Two of the creamers were okay and the third one had gone bad and curdled all of the coffee so we had to start over but they only give you one normal and one decaf coffee per day. Another inconvenience was that the blow dryer did not go on high level. It would only do the low level option. Also the cord was stuck and would not fully retract and would also not fully come out. The food at breakfast was bland and ok, but super expensive. It was $51 for a side of toast, a bagel with cream cheese, side of bacon, and some coffees and orange juice. The last straw was on the morning of checkout there was a cockroach crawling on the wall. We left for breakfast and quickly checked out. Overall, we were super disappointed. It is getting to be an older hotel with problems, and customer service is going downhill. I would not have minded paying for luxury hotel if we were getting the services that they offered. But this was a very bad experience for what we were expecting and paying. Upon check out I spoke with a manager. She backed her employees by saying again they said there was a do not disturb sign on the door one night. I said okay, can you check the cameras? Because I can promise you we never put one on there as my grandmother wanted the room made up daily. She said they did not have cameras. She took off $20 a person. We will not come here again. We don't give out five star ratings to hotels very often. In fact, this might be a first. Located right on the sand. A nice beach fronts this property. The Hollywood Beach boardwalk (2.5 miles long) is also right outside. Makes for a nice walk, bike, run. Plus, there are within walking distance food options on the boardwalk. Anyway. Stayed here recently on a trip through Florida. First impressions run deep and we got a good vibe right off the bat. Front desk staff were awesome. Very helpful and welcoming. It doesn't hurt that from 12-6, free champagne flows at the front desk. Yeah, that's right - free champagne and snacks. They also give you free drink tickets to use at the bar as well as a voucher to get 2 beach chairs down at the nearby beach kiosk. The quickest way to a guest's heart is through their liver. Parking is on site in an attached parking structure. Use your room key to get in and out of the gate. The on site restaurant Latitudes is pretty good with reasonable prices. Also, a breakfast buffet is available until noon for $26. The bar is pretty lively. As far as the rooms, we were in a double queen and it was a good sized room and very clean. Small balcony with a view. We appreciated the porcelain wood plank floors. Hotels in general should ditch carpet in rooms. Pool area is nice. Big pool, big jacuzzi. All in all, if ever we should find ourselves in the area, we would stay here again, no question. Very enjoyable stay. read more

This is my new spot for local staycations, or when I'm suggesting a place for visitors to stay. I love it. Being a Marriott man, I am a bit biased towards their properties, but I love the feel of this hotel, along with the service and amenities. It is really the ideal spot for spending a night or two on Hollywood Beach. Parking: they have a private garage, which is $25 nightly. Not the craziest price, but not free. There is valet as well I believe, but I'd rather park myself. The garage is attached to the property, so it's easy to get to the hotel from the garage. The staff and check-in process is pretty seamless. You can do a mobile check in on the app, so everything is ready when you show up. From there, off to your room you go. The stay comes with beach chairs on their section of Hollywood Beach, along with pool and hot tub access. The property also has a nice outdoor bar and dining area right in the boardwalk that is relaxing and fun to hang out at. If you have Marriott status, the breakfast included was a traditional eggs and bacon type of deal, and was more than enough to get the day started. The staff in the restaurant was very accommodating. The room itself was great. We were in a king suite, which was large and had multiple rooms including a bedroom and a living room with a small office. Down the hallway was the bathroom with a large shower. The one wall was all windows, looking out at Hollywood Beach and the ocean. It was South facing, so you could also see Le Tub and that section. The one thing I wish the room had was a balcony. I know they have them, but I figured all suites would face the water. The property sits on the North end of the boardwalk, so all you do is walk out and you are free to explore Hollywood Beach. The concerts, Margaritaville, and all of the bars and shops are at your fingertips. Stop in, splurge for a few nights, and spend some time getting to know Hollywood Beach without the constant Buffett stuff playing in the background. I think you'll dig it read more

It was fine. Not brand new but everything worked and did not disappoint us at all. That said the food could have been better but it was certainly not bad. Lots of friendly employees around. No issues. Felt safe. Nice bar adjacent to the pool and hot tub. I doubt you would be disappointed unless you are seeking a 5 star hotel. It's the beach. Clean hotel with easy check in and out. The staff is great throughout the hotel and the on-site restaurant is actually tasty! The daily fee covers two beach chairs daily, but they charge for umbrellas or additional chairs. The fee also includes bike - which there are 4 available on a first come basis. Coffee shop is available in the lobby. It's a good location on the broadwalk and easily walkable to Margaritaville and shopping. Live music can be hear nightly by the Tiki bar Nextdoor. The rooms are an ok size snd have little balconies with oceanviews. Nice touches - complimentary snacks and sparkling wine are available at the desk in the afternoon. The little smoothies by the pool are a refreshing treat. The only issues we saw were the pool - it's small and could use updating, the shower water only ever reached lukewarm, and the TV always displayed the wrong name. Stayed in this hotel a few times mostly to use my accumulated travel points with Marriott before the expire. My girls love this location on Hollywood Beach because it's right on broad walk and has a ton of activity. It's right on the beach so your just steps away from all sun and ocean you ask for of a mini vacation. Hotel itself is kept in good condition, clean and staff is very friendly. I love the fact that this hotel has LOTS of restaurants around to choose from. Pool on other hand is small, but then again who wants a pool when you have the Ocean. We stay here mostly because it's a good value and location for long weekends and holidays, but prefer staying in room with a balcony. Hope to return soon and use some more of my accumulated points and of coarse will recommend this place to anyone visiting Hollywood Beach for business or pleasure. read more

It was very good 3 night stay with my family and friends. Location is simply hard to beat: beachfront, with expensive views, and right on Broadwalk. We got our complimentary suite upgrade to a rather spacious suite with sea views. Free included breakfasts for Platinum members, free snacks, beach chairs and other amenities made it quite pleasant stay. The front desk and housekeeping staff were mostly good, but overworked. However, the restaurant staff at breakfast are completely overwhelmed. This is possibly the issue of understaffing during the high season. The rates were too high, relatively speaking, and the room showed its age, less than gracefully aged. Still, it was solid stay, and I would consider staying there again, under the right circumstances. read more

It's a great place to go for a beach vacation without having to worry about things like beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc. There are various amenities available at the hotel. We enjoyed the breakfast offerings at the attached restaurant. We had wonderful interactions with the staff and looked forward to breakfast each morning. Historic Hollywood Beach hotel that was converted to a MARRIOTT several years ago. I stayed there about 10 years ago. Hotel has beautiful hardwood moldings original to the hotel inside. It was build on a plantation style with restaurant and outdoor patio bar out back with a view of the ocean. Our room was great. We also had lunch onsite and I enjoyed my hamburger and Dan loved his fish and chips. Afterward we sat out on the Adirondack chairs and looked at the water and enjoyed the afternoon watching the people go by. Some provided endless entertainment, LOL. Good stay. Old school Marriott on the beach This Marriott reminds you of the old school no frills Marriott's that have just enough for a nice stay. From self parking, to no concierge, to older hallways, building, decor, it is a classic Marriott that you have to appreciate these days. Natasha and the manager Sharon at the front desk are excellent, friendly, and happy to help the guest - rare these days. The gym is decent size although not sure when hotel is packed. The equipment is older but it has everything you need with multiple tvs and tvs on the exercise machines. The amenity fee includes two drinks at latitudes - the restaurant at the hotel. You can get well, draft or bottled beer, or house wine. They even let you get a select few frozen drinks. After you checkin, they offer you champagne and snacks and there is no mention of a limit so I assume they would only cut you off if you really abused it. There are also bikes and beach chairs included in the fee but we didn't use it. The two drinks alone pay for the $20 fee. Parking is $30 but wondering how much the parking deck a block or so over is. May be cheaper if interested in checking out but not as convenient. The room is clean and nothing too fancy like rest of hotel. Bed is a little too soft, comforter a little too heavy (just keep temperature at 70 degrees or less while sleeping), a/c a little too loud. Blinds are not black out shades but keep the room dark enough. We had a corner room facing intracoastal at end of hallway on top floor so it had two balconies. The standard balcony, with two standard chairs, that most rooms have on side is small so if you are afraid of heights like me, you may not want to spend much time on it if you are on a high floor. The other Balcony is larger and had two rocking chairs with a little table so we spent some time on there enjoying the ocean air. Breakfast buffet till 12pm and a la carte ends at 11am on Sunday and assume Saturday too. Check this place out if you want an old school Marriott hire stay right on the beach. read more

I love this place; we come every year for our yearly need beach; I must say, this time, we noticed a negative change. The food quality has gone down considerably. The bar was the worse part; the two females bartender did not seem to want to tend to people, and the drinks we asked for, which were a very basic margarita and mimosa, were more mic and juice than anything. the next day, I asked for a Chardonnay which I could tell as soon as I smelled it had been opened for a long time, I felt I drank vinegar. We stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The location is perfect. The hotel is just steps from the beach and right on the boardwalk. With shops and restaurants, all along the boardwalk, and direct access to the beach, there is always something to do. The food at the restaurant attached to the hotel is ok. There were parts of the meals we ate, that were delicious, but each meal had something wrong. One meal, the steak was great, but dessert was dry and almost inedible. Another meal was fish and chips. The fish was delicious, but the fries were soggy. We ordered calamari and drinks. The calamari was undercooked. They do have a tangerine beer that is wonderful. One could over look dinner problems because the view is so beautiful. The problem with the place is the staff. Outside the coffee bar lady, (she was awesome) the maid service on our floor (she was always greeted us and was very helpful), the lady who served my husbands work conference, and an engineer that helped me locate a screw driver I needed (super nice), no one was friendly. I don't know how many times we got a blank stare when we asked a question. It was bizarre. Most resort style hotels, the staff are friendly and helpful. Not here. They almost act put out if they have to deal with you. We went to the host to be seated at the restaurant, he was bent over with his face resting in his hand. He did not stand up and greet us. He looked up at us while he stayed resting on his hand, as if he was bored and we were interrupting him. Marriott needs to spend some time and money training their staff in hospitality, because they stink. The beach, coffee lady, maid and maintenance guy are the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. Place was very friendly, except when I wanted to use the pool didn't have my pool band. She wanted me to go back to my room to get it and the elevators were jammed and slow, wouldn't give me any leeway despite having the card that gives me access to my room and the pool. Gave us unlimited complimentary waters and snacks which was really cool. Also there was always plenty of pool towels available with no issues. Always able to find a seat at pool with umbrella. Gave free frozen lemonade and passion fruit drinks, also ice cold water. Location is right on beautiful broad walk. Very short walk to water from hotel. Room had great AC and never had issue with getting the room cold. Breakfast buffet is great if you can get it for free but not worth 26$ per person. Bed was a lot more on the firm side and they were unable to make it any softer. We asked for a pad but we had to put on ourselves by completing undoing the entire bed and remaking it. Pool was a little small for the size of the place, but ocean was bad at the time so I would assume there would be less people at the pool normally.
