What a pleasant surprise!! We came here on Christmas Eve not sure whether it would be crowded or empty. It was quiet but that was fine for us! It's a small food hall but with great options. We had the Mexican /Peruvian ! Wasn't sure how this mix would go but it was amazing! I had the short rib tacos; they were so tasty! Also tried the mushroom saltado bowl that my husband got and was pleasantly surprised!!! Although the tacos weren't big, they came with chips and guacamole which were very good. The service was quick and easy! We ordered using the app and so diners in our party could order from multiple places and we all were served together. After lunch we got ice cream and doughnuts! Both delicious!! Shout out to the doughnut place that gave us 2 extra doughnuts!! I will definitely come back and try some of the other places!

My family and I came here Friday late afternoon for dinner. I thought the space was cool, but small. I wish there had been a couple more food options. My kids got pasta from Dalmoros. It was really good. The employee even gave us tastings of a few of their sauces. We loved all of them. My husband and I got chicken tenders from Hangry Joes. They were delicious. We also got a taco from the Mexican place that was there. On the way out, we got doughnuts from Donut Cream. They were good, but really sweet. Overall, we had a good experience. Service was prompt and friendly. I just hope they add some more options in the future.

We came to check out a new food hall a few days before the official ribbon cutting ceremony. Think food court at a mall but nicer. They still had a few spots that weren't open but what was opened looked good: from donuts to ice cream to fresh made pasta. They even have a vegan option spot (Von) that's Jamaican/asian fusion. We went to the Hangry Joes Chicken. A little on the expensive side considering what the food was but at least the lady that took of us was friendly. Need to check out the Indian street food station and the lux burgers station. You order the food in one place and then have to go to a big bar to get sodas, etc. Luckily they give you a plastic glass filled with ice when you order a coke. The can is room temperature. I can see this place being packed at peak hours so plan accordingly since there is limited street parking in and around the place.

I love seeing a historic building in its glory and the Mediterranean Revival designed Great Southern Hotel overlooking ArtsPark is looking its best with a new facade of striped canopies over the arched windows. The new Block 40 Food Hall now occupies the first floor of this historic building. The Great Southern Hotel was built by the founder of Hollywood, Joseph W. Young in 1924 and the construction workers who built the city stayed here. Through the years it was a popular vacation destination before closing in 1991. It was restored and reopened in 2021. Block 40 Food Hall is Hollywood's first food hall and it is operated by Society 8 Hospitality, which also runs Sistrunk Marketplace & Brewery in Fort Lauderdale, Park & Ocean, and Wild Thyme Oceanside Eatery in The Atlantic Hotel & Spa on Fort Lauderdale beach. Here you will find 10 dining stalls, a restaurant Loco Ocho, a large central bar, games like darts, and a sidewalk patio with a view of the park. Customers order food and drink by using a QR code like at Sistrunk Marketplace. Block 40 Food Hall vendors include Dalmoro's Fresh Pasta to Go, Vons Asia Kitchen, Catch Hollywood, Hangry Joe's, CHO:TU, Phastbreak Cheesesteaks, C.L.A.S.S. Burger, Donut Cream, and Hollywood Creamery. On the day I visited the whole food hall was watching the soccer match between Spain and England. Upcoming events include Biz to Biz Networking, Weekly Tap Takeover, and Live Music. I like the variety of food vendors offering different cuisine, drinks, and desserts. Downtown Hollywood needed a place like this where people can hang out and stop in for a drink or a bite to eat. This spacious and bright food hall fulfills a need in the community for a gathering place. It is great to see such an iconic Hollywood landmark filled with life again.

There's a new food hall on the block... Block 40 that is! There have been so many new things popping up in Hollywood lately and Block 40 is no exception. This new food hall concept is right on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and 19th St, pretty close to Young at Arts Circle. There is street parking all around and it's actually a really good size with a good amount of places to choose from. The inside is super spacious and had a modern industrial look. There was plenty of seating from community tables, to booths, to tables, to even movie theater style seats for the area that had big screens to watch things on. It's still really new so when we went on a weekday, it looked like a good amount of the vendors were still working at a slower pace and getting their menu and bearings together. I'm excited to come back when it's been open for a bit! Overall, a cool spot to explore if you're in the Hollywood area!

Whohoooo!!! Would give this amazing stars!!! I loved everything I got today. We sampled a bit of things. Will have to try the other spots when I come back... here is everything we tried. Class Lux Burger - a kids meal slider with potato wedges. Man, this was really good!!! I have been looking at the regular Class Soirée restaurant that is around the corner saying that I wanted to try it out, but I never got the chance. Having this little spot in the food hall allowed me to sample some of what they have to offer. The potato wedges had cheese and pork belly/ thick bacon on it (heavenly) and the slider was really good too. Worth it if you like burgers. Loco Ocho - a steak quesadilla that was super flavorful and the steak was tender. Soooo good!!! We'd get this again. Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken and Wings - 18 chicken wings naked split order to get 9 tossed with soy garlic and 9 tossed with buffalo sauce plus a side order of waffle fries. I took 2 of my hubby's wings, I liked them. I like the fact that you can get good flavors minus the heat (because heat doesn't agree with my poor belly). Hubby said the wings, coleslaw and fries were fire and he was about to hurt himself eating too much. Lol CHO:TU - When we first walked up, we were greeted immediately and advised to ask if we had any questions about the menu - street food menu on one side of the menu and more traditional Indian foods on the opposite side. We got an order of samosas that I almost lost because the grease tore the bottom of the paper bag that they placed them in. They looked good and the taste was too! Yum! Donut Cream - 4 donuts ( glazed, chocolate frosted, Nutella and a maple bacon) . They looked scrumptious. Super nice lady (maybe owner?) working the counter and filled our order and asked us to write a review (we told her that we would). Hollywood Creamery - a coconut cream milkshake (a large one because that ice cream was sooooo good when they let me sample it). Dalmoro's - they let us sample the Mamma Rosa sauce... oh my gosh, it was so creamy and good... the flavor was niiiiiceeee... I will definitely will be back to get some pasta with that sauce. I just didn't get any today because I had already gotten so much other stuff. But I'll be back for sure for some of this... This place is worth a visit, lots of places to choose from. LOVED the ambiance. Nicely decorated, had games (darts, jenga, pinball and connect 4) for people to partake in while dining so it's nice to probably just spend some time here chilling with friends or family. They have a bar area too if that's your thing. We didn't stay to eat, we ordered everything to go but still had to spend a bit of time waiting on our orders to be ready so that gave us time to take pics.

This is a new food court right across the street from Young Circle. I tried them out the other night and had some pasta and some tacos, it's a nice place to hang out with friends. Have a couple drinks and a bite to eat. There's plenty of different choices of food to eat here. Parking is the only problem in downtown Hollywood especially when there's an event going on.

    Thali
    Meena M.

Overall a rather disappointing dinner at CHO:TU. There are a multitude of alternative restaurants in South Florida serving better quality Indian food. My fiancé and I ordered the thali and unfortunately we really only enjoyed the samosa. The daal was too watery for our liking. The Madras Masala chicken tikka was definitely spicy; however, the flavor was off as if the sauce had an excess amount of sugar. Additionally, the gulab jamun was cold. We did very much enjoy the Biscoff ice cream at Hollywood Creamery, though. Very unique and tasty flavor. Definitely worth every calorie and penny. We will likely come back to Block 40 to try the other restaurants, and definitely have more ice cream

At the entrance, former Great Southern Hotel. Vacant and abandoned since 1991.

A former historic hotel. Couldn't be saved, but replicated in stunning detail. Inside is a hidden gem. A large bar with friendly bartenders and great drink specials. It's a food hall with great bar snacks, full meals, desserts, and more! A huge amount of variety and all of the food is fantastic. There's also a huge screen and seating to watch the big game. This is a wonderful spot that's filled with variety.

I have been here twice so far. The place is huge and spacious with plenty of tables and different types of seating. I tried the sauces at the Pasta stand, the Oxtail bao buns at Von, and the house made butter pecan ice cream at the ice cream stand. Everything was delicious. The owners and employees are all friendly and very helpful.

    Rob B.

Wow this is a must try spot. I love this place for the bar and different food options located in one spot. Drink specials are very good with a full line of top shelf beverages. My wife choose to try The pasta. Pasta was mediocre with vodka sauce lacking flavor & pasta overcooked. I tried the angry joes and this sandwich which was on point. The chicken was 2 time bigger than the bun. The flavors was definitely hitting. I got the hot but should have got the medium so be careful . We also tried the donuts a must try if you have a sweet tooth. We will back to try the other restaurants soon.

New food hall just opened on Friday 6/7 in Hollywood. Same owners as Sistrunk Marketplace.

Block 40 Food Hall just opened up in Downtown Hollywood. Their grand opening was on Friday, June 7th. Block 40 is also from the same owners of Sistrunk Marketplace in Fort Lauderdale. We found parking on the street and paid for parking with the ParkMobile app. The new Food Hall is located in a historic building located across from ArtsPark and Hollywood Hot Glass. They only have a banner sign at each of the main entrances, but no official signage as of yet. You might miss it if you don't look hard enough, the banner is small. The space is cool with high ceilings and an industrial vibe. They have a cool area with a few movie theater style seating with a huge screen upon one of thentrance . There's plenty of seating indoors and on the patio. Love the games and activities like giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, arcades games, darts. Great for kids. There's probably about 10 food vendors ranging from Italian, Mexican, Asian, Indian, seafood, burgers, ice cream, donuts, hot chicken/wings and Philly cheesesteaks. We had friends in town and our kids in our group. We wanted to try a variety of foods. This is what we ordered: * Dalmoro's Fresh Pasta to Go: fusilli with "Like Butter" sauce, side of meatballs, rigatoni with Cacio e Pepe and chopped bacon, tiramisu. * Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings: medium spice level wings, Korean bbq chicken nuggets with soy garlic. * Catch Seafood Market: build your own poké bowl. * PhastBreak CheeseSteak: supreme cheesesteak. Our top favorites were hands down the super fresh pasta from Dalmoro's. You can taste the freshness of the pasta in that first bite. They make the pasta fresh at the counter. Great selling point. We knew right away we wanted pasta the moment we walked in. The tiramisu was a good size for a sweet treat and so yummy. Creamy and delicious. Hit the spot and great way to end our food experience. Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings was "Winner, winner, chicken dinner!" The wings were ridiculously juicy, even though the medium was still spicy and I'm a hardcore spicy food lover. We couldn't stop eating it though because it was that good. The Korean bbq nuggets were so tasty and still crispy with the sauce coating it. Yummm! Both vendors were clear winners. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed with the poké bowl from Catch Seafood Market. We love a good poké bowl and this one missed the mark for us personally. For $22 after tips, we didn't get much tuna and salmon for the price point. Also felt like they skimped on the other ingredients too. The edamame didn't look or taste fresh, you can see it on the edamame skin. Mango needed to be a tad more ripe, it was not sweet at all and way too firm. Cilantro was chopped and we got a sprinkle of it. Cilantro makes the bowl too. Our group thought the fish didn't taste fresh. Although other ingredients were fresh, the poké was lacking. Another miss was the supreme cheesesteak from PhastBreak CheeseSteak. They didn't seem to have it together. When we walked around looking at all the food options before ordering, I didn't even know what their booth was selling until I saw the menu with their tiny logo on the TV. No sign on their booth. We ordered our food at the table with QR code but no section for notes to modify so I had to walk over and let them know we wanted mushrooms on the side. They asked which order was mine so they could note accordingly, I said the one with cheesesteak supreme and fries. The guy didn't even know they had fries. He also asked if I wanted my mushrooms cooked which I thought was odd. When they delivered the food, it looked disappointing. My mushrooms on the side was canned mushrooms, yuck. Side of fries was a weak portion. Cheesesteak portion was aight. Barely any onions or peppers. Thought it could use more cheese too. I will say the flavors of the cheesesteak was actually tasty but too many other downfalls that we didn't thoroughly enjoy it to the fullest. At a whopping $24 after tips, not worth it. I love the food hall concept and I realize everything is still new. I do hope Catch & PhastBreak take these as constructive criticism and it helps them improve. They could both be great. Von wasn't open when we went but wish they were as the oxtail bao bun sounded delish. The Indian spot wasn't open either but they looked like they didn't have anything set up as of yet. Would have loved Indian food too. Wishing the best to all the vendors here. We hope to come back soon to try the other options. Congrats on the new food hall!!!

Especially since it seems like the average stores I remember are gone and it's all Prada, Gucci, and luxe stores now, but I'm not gonna knock it too much as I took full advantage and stocked up on my Nespresso pods while I was here. At least they still have JC Penny's. I was able to find a Miami Hurricanes shirt to bring back to my dad as a gift. I have to admit; I like how they revamped the food court so that its modern and has a wide variety of options. They even have a ramen kiosk! This particular event was not held on the actual lunar new year day, which was great for me because I wasn't able to attend prior. As normal, they had their normal food operations and bar operations. They have a lot of different Asian booths to try out including dim sum, Ramen, etc.
