First time taking the shuttle from Pasadena to the Hollywood Bowl (HB). The HB has a link on their website to purchase Shuttle or Park&Ride transportation tickets. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Assoc (LAPhil) operates the HB venue. I didn't know some events are sponsored by the LAPhil, others are rented out to outside agencies and have different methods to purchase concert and transportation tickets. I tried to get a transportation ticket for Arcadia Park, but it was not on the list. I called the Box Office and was told Arcadia and Rowland Heights are only available for LAPhil events. I am writing this review so others who live in the Eastern part of LA County will know Pasadena is the best option (when Arcadia or Rowland Heights is not available). The cost was $12.45 for a round-way ticket and includes the price of parking at the Pasadena structure. You must park on Level 3 or 4, walk down to Ramona Street and the HB bus will be waiting at the time designated on your ticket (4:30, 5:30 or 6PM). The bus was clean, it took about 45 minutes to arrive. The bus dropped us off in Lot B, and will take you back to Pasadena 20 minutes after the show ends. It was a good experience, the price was a good deal! NOTE: You can take a chance and buy a ticket the day of the event at the bus stop, but if it is full, you will have to drive all the way to the HB. Save yourself a headache and buy in advance! Leave the driving to someone else when you go to the Bowl.$6 round trip is such a deal. The chartered buses are very comfortable with air conditioning . It is so nice to not have to deal with LA traffic. You must make reservations online prior to the event Oh No!!! Update... the bus broke down to the bowl , luckily we were on Cahuenga and walked down the block and trudged up the hill. We had a woman on the bus who was blind , hopefully they made arrangements for her to walk the 1/4 mile or so. I had an overall good experience here taking the shuttle from Pasadena to Hollywood Bowl. The bowl has some of the worst parking situations so having shuttles is nice and ideal to get to a concert. I bought my ticket on Ticketmaster for $12.50 each but they sold tickets there on the spot for $10 (I paid the transaction fee online). I do believe you need cash and exact change from what I saw though. Buses are hit or miss, you either take the older school bus looking buses or you might strike gold taking the huge charter buses. It's completely random but overall it was a 30-40 minute ride so not bad. Shuttle Return - They gave me a ticket per person as admission for the return travel. It's $15 if you lose this ticket so DO NOT lose it. They did a great job telling everyone how to find the bus back and really had no issues loading and returning home. Just be sure to get back to the buses before 25 minutes after the concert. (This is honestly pretty reasonable I probably got back in 10-15) Parking was safe with a security guard as well as FREE when you park on the 3rd level or above. I would recommend this option when going to the Hollywood bowl for a cheaper and efficient way to get there. read more

After my last trip to the Hollywood Bowl back in 2014 (which I can't even remember, but I know it wasn't great), I had avoided returning--until I recently won tickets to a show. I did some research and discovered the Park and Ride option, which seemed like a lifesaver compared to parking at the Bowl or using a rideshare. Let me tell you, I am SO glad I opted for Park and Ride! I purchased my ticket online through Ticketmaster, and although it said "Print at Home," I just showed my purchase order, which worked perfectly. The parking structure was easy to find, and we parked on the first floor, thanks to the friendly attendant who directed us. The shuttle was a clean charter bus with a restroom (though nobody used it). The ride to the Bowl took about 45 minutes, and when we arrived, an attendant boarded the bus to give us helpful instructions for after the show. They made sure we knew to keep our paper tickets safe, as losing them would result in a $15 fee per person. After the show, we followed the purple lights as instructed and found our return bus without a hitch. Even though we left right away, we were placed on the second bus since the first was full, but we didn't wait long at all. The return trip was a breezy 25 minutes! The whole experience was seamless--from parking to getting to the Bowl and back. With parking attendants available to help, I felt reassured throughout. I sit in traffic daily, so avoiding that extra hassle made my night much more enjoyable. Now that I know about this convenient option, I'll definitely be more open to attending more shows at the Hollywood Bowl. Park & Ride - Hollywood Bowl Tried Park & Ride for the first time on October 31, 2024, to see David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! I bought my ticket in advance through Ticketmaster for $10 plus a $2.45 service charge--super convenient. You can also get tickets on the spot for $15. The trip took about 50 minutes to reach the Bowl and 45 minutes to return, which is excellent given the crowd. After the concert, we were back on the bus to Pasadena in just 10 minutes. For a total of $12.45 with free parking, this is a much better alternative to driving or using Uber. When boarding, they give you a return ticket--don't lose it, as replacements cost $15. They also provide clear instructions before you get off on how to find your bus for the return; ours was the B1 Pasadena line. If you're headed to the Bowl, Park & Ride is the way to go! read more

My experience as of 10/6/23: My wife and I wanted to use this shuttle to go see Incubus at the Hollywood Bowl. We're Pasadena residents, so this shuttle seemed PERFECT for us. First off, parking is free in the garage, just use floors 3 and higher for parking. When you buy your ticket for the shuttle, it's 1 ticket per person, not per car, we learned the hard way. Each ticket was $11. We paid for the 4:30PM departure shuttle and the bus didn't leave until after 5PM. Someone dropped the ball and the buses were completely delayed and set everyone back. The shuttle dropped us off right at the entrance of the Bowl, which was very nice. The bus is a little small,but it was clean & AC worked perfectly. The departing bus to go back to Pasadena leaves about 25 mins AFTER the concert ends. We took a school bus back and it was a uncomfortable and stuffy, but we were able to avoid so much traffic using the shuttle. Overall, I'd do this process again, but it'd be nice if the buses left on time. Getting set back about 45-60 minutes was not a great way to start the night, but it all worked out. read more

Why drive when you can take a shuttle and avoid the hassle especially on a Friday night?

Had a really good experience and I would recommend purchasing this if you're going to the Hollywood Bowl. It's cheap (parking there is $26 and you have to deal with tandem spots and general madness before and after the show), convenient (it drops you off right in front of the entrance and the bus is not far at the end of the show), and makes the night mostly stress free. Pre-show, I got to the lot about 30 mins before my scheduled time to leave but I was still able to get on the bus. The lot is really easy to find and the employee working gives you clear instructions to park from the 3rd level up. The only part that kind of made me nervous was finding the bus after the show. Before getting g off the bus, they told us that you have to be back on the bus within 25 mins of the show ending. Well, I was at a show where you had to lock your phone up, so I had no idea what time it was AND the main performer brought out other performers so I wasn't really sure if the show had technically ended or not. Luckily, I trusted my gut and left just in the right amount of time to use the bathroom and get on the bus. So if you want to be safe, leave right at the end of the show or even a bit early. read more

Super easy and convenient. If you've been to the Bowl, you know how hectic traffic is. It's nearly impossible to get in or out. Save yourself the trouble and purchase a $7 round trip shuttle ticket. The parking garage is safe and located near the police station. Get your car before a certain time (I believe it's 11pm) because your car will be locked in, but you can pick it up the next morning (early so you won't get charged, lol). The only downfall is that after the event is over, you'll have to rush over to the pick up area, which is across the street from the bowl. By the time we stopped by the restroom and shoved our way through the crowd, we were late and missed the last shuttle! Some UPDATES 06/24/23 and more notes: Second time using the Hollywood Bowl Park & Ride! - They no longer give you a little ticket as you board the bus (as of writing this review). So just hop on your bus after the show! No need to show ticket or anything. - As you walk to the pick-up area after your show, the 655 PASADENA bus is on the far left of the row of buses. (I want to say it's the same for every show for consistency purposes) There are staff standing in front of each row with a sign showing the bus destination. - The staff may tell you to walk through a tunnel near the marquee to get to the bus, but I just walked across the street. - I was on a tour bus heading to the Hollywood Bowl and on a Metro bus going back to Pasadena. Travel time was about the same as my first experience (both times on a Saturday evening): 40 minutes to the Bowl and 24 minutes back to Pasadena. - I used the restroom after the show before getting on the bus and I still had plenty of time. So again, don't stress yourself out - but obviously don't be a lollygagger! Haha Smooth experience once again! - The reviewer who posted their car being broken into: Super unfortunate! To hopefully, minimize the chances of this happening I suggest parking on the 3rd floor (the most busiest), near other cars, and near the elevator or stairwell where people are likely to be coming in/out. I think there are only 4 floors, and the higher you go the less cars there are (and people), so things like that are more likely to be missed. I had such nightmarish experiences driving myself to the Hollywood Bowl in the late 1990's, that I stopped going altogether and swore the venue off, missing tons of shows I actually would've loved to see - especially as more and more rock bands play there. Well, when I got tickets for Joe Hisaishi's performance conducting the L.A. Phil, I decided I would have to try taking the shuttle. Thank God I did. There are numerous places to catch a shuttle in the SGV, but the best rated one was Pasadena, so I chose it. There is a large multi-level parking garage which you are allowed to park for free in. Getting on a shuttle was easy, and it took right off. In no time, we were at the Bowl and dropped right at the entrance, saving us the climb uphill you face if you park in their nightmarish stacked parking lots (where you will undoubtedly be waiting after the show to get out of for quite some time). At the end of the show, you walk downhill to a small underground passage that goes under Highland to a parking lot where the shuttles are lined up and waiting with their numbers on them and people waiting to help you find the right bus if you are confused. Got on a bus immediately, despite the show being sold out, and took off in a couple of minutes. Was back home in maybe 25 minutes tops. It convinced me I can actually go back to the Hollywood Bowl in the future. It is truly the only way to go! read more

Anyone considering using Park and Ride from the Hollywood Bowl shuttle service from Pasadena, think again... I may have saved $20 on the Bowl parking, but I paid $14 dollars for the shuttle (2 people), $20 on the Uber back because the shuttle left so soon after the show finished (20 min). Then when I got back to the parking lot in Pasadena, they had closed it so I couldn't remove my car. So, I had to spend $91 on a car rental for the weekend, and who knows how much they are going to try to charge me in fees for "leaving my car there"!!! We'll see how much they try to rip me off when they finally reopen the lot, and I can finally pick up the car today. So far, I've spent $125. Bargain. And yes, I know there are other lots that don't "close" that service the Bowl shuttle, but this lot in Pasadena was right near my home and had no mention ANYWHERE that they close at a certain time; no signs posted, no mention on the shuttle tickets, no mention on the recorded message when you call the Bowl. So yes, I know NOW, but it cost me hundreds to find out. I'm saving you all the money and the grief. ***Update: they didn't charge me any fees for "leaving" my car in the parking lot over the weekend - so total cost for my Park And Ride experience $125. read more

I've only driven to the Hollywood Bowl once and never again! I prefer to take the shuttle. This service is a convenience. One that I am truly grateful for. There are things you can do to make this easy breezy and I'll tell you how below. 1. Order these when you get your concert tickets. I tend to buy my concert tickets months in advance because I want to pay a reasonable price. If you get them late or are gifted tickets, hopefully the shuttle will still be available online. You have until 10:00 am PT the day BEFORE the concert to get them. The cost is $7.00 per person. 2. Get there at least 20 minutes before your time slot if you're going to a popular concert. A lot of people arrive last minute. 3. The parking lot is on Ramona between Marengo and Garfield. 4.I usually print my shuttle tickets so there's no issues with that. 5. When leaving the concert, go straight to the shuttle. Don't lollygag around. I'm not trying to get left and I would like to have my car that night. 6. Pray that your driver has some sense! The last shuttle driver we had thought he was in the Fast N Furious. I was happy to get back quick but I was scared that we were gonna hit some things and cars along the way. 7. Some of the shuttles are old MTA buses that need repairs. The windows flew open on our way to the concert. Be careful if you're sitting in the very front. Still safe lol. This shuttle service made getting to the Hollywood Bowl a breeze. There wasn't much info about its location on the HB website and even after I purchased the tickets but I found it on Yelp luckily! It's a multi-level parking structure. All we had to do was show our pre-paid tickets for the shuttle and were let in with no problems. The shuttle busses are parked curbside. Wait in line for the next bus and off you go. Getting back is a longer walk after the show. You go under the tunnel to get to the bus parking. There's a ton of people and everyone is crowded but that's just the Bowl experience in general. There are tons of busses but the signs make it easy to find your way to your row of busses. Our return bus driver was a pro finding his way out of the crowd and traffic. I wanted to clap when we arrived. read more

I'm so glad they offer this shuttle service. Parking at the structure is free on level 3 and up if you tell the parking structure employee that you're going to Hollywood Bowl. Finding a parking spot after that was not a problem. There were at least 3 buses lined up and ready to go at about 5:45 p.m. and the line flowed really quickly. I got tickets in advance from Ticketmaster so boarding was a breeze. Traffic was insane once we exited the 134 freeway so the trip there took about an hour. Once our shuttle got to the front of the venue, a venue employee boarded the bus and gave instructions on how to get back to the shuttle after the concert. They also passed out a ticket which acted as the return trip ticket. Finding the right shuttle after the concert was a little confusing because there were plenty of other buses at that area but venue employees were everywhere and all you'll have to do is ask them where the Pasadena shuttle is. Once we got back to Pasadena, getting out of the parking structure was quick and easy. Buy tickets in advance, use this service, and absolutely do not drive to Hollywood Bowl and park there. They advertise as accessible, but the buses are not, in fact accessible. Driver hit the curb multiple times on the way there. Signage to get to pick up location at the Bowl could be better. Numerous people saying "where the f*ck is the tunnel?" after the event. That aside, can't beat the convenience. read more

Purchased tickets ahead of time from ticketmaster for the Pasadena shuttle (655) and the tickets said preferred boarding included.  When we got there we were told they dont do that and to go to the end of the line.  Upon arrival at the bowl we were told there was only a 1/2 hour after the end of the concert to catch the shuttle.  Given everyone goes out the same side of the bowl we were concerned about getting caught behind the mass of humanity leaving. This made us very uneasy during the concert so we left 15 minutes before the end of the concert so we wouldn't miss the bus.  The concert was not a pleasant experience caused by the bus system causing alot of anxiety regarding making it to the bus. This was a very different experience from when I had a subscription to the bowl in the 90s and used the bus system read more

Perfect way to get to the bowl due to that horrendous parking they have. They have several buses and various times in which they leave. I happened to get onto the 5:30 shuttle at for this event. It only takes a about 20 minutes or so to arrive to the bowl and employees thoroughly explain the procedure of how to get back on the shuttle for the ride home. Easy and convenient way to get to the Hollywood Bowl! We've used it a few times this summer. We've found it to be a better alternative to the East L.A. Hollywood Bowl Shuttle, which we used previous summers. We happen to live between the two shuttle stops so both are options for us. However, there's more Pasadena buses available, and as a result, the Pasadena buses leave for home earlier than the East L.A. shuttles. As soon as the bus is full, it gets going. For the East L.A. Shuttle, the last bus usually waits a long time, maybe to wait for all passengers. Definitely a good idea to prepurchase online. It's cheaper, and people with tickets board the bus first. Only way to get into and out of the Hollywood Bowl I highly suggest so you don't have to deal with parking

The Hollywood Bowl Park & Ride is such a wonderful transportation option and truly a lifesaver! If it wasn't for the Park and Ride option, I probably wouldn't attend as many Hollywood Bowl concerts as I have attended this summer and in past years! It's best if you can purchase Park & Ride tickets online because they are cheaper than if you purchase them at the Park & Ride location itself. It is about $7 roundtrip online per person versus $12 roundtrip per person at the pick-up location. Driving to and from the Hollywood Bowl, and parking there can be such a huge headache and a hassle, especially with the huge influx of cars and people. Plus, it also costs more to park there (about $23-25 per car). I would highly discourage driving and parking there unless you have no other option. But generally, the Park & Ride option is available in multiple locations throughout Southern California. The closest one to me is in Pasadena. It is so stress-free and hassle-free! I just park my car in the parking structure, submit my ride ticket to the parking structure employees before boarding the bus, and hop onto the bus for a nice and relaxing ride to the Bowl! read more
