I never abused my meds and actually didn't understand why Publix treated me like crap. Then I found out that when you have severe pain you don't get loopy or high. This pharmacy sits in the lobby of Memorial hospital on Johnson. Walk in and look left. I filled 1 prescription and they properly asked me for ALL the correct IDs to process my RX. This builds trust in me. Asked questions of any allergies, pertinent and succinct. Yes, I like this! The shop was full of customers and only had 3 seats. Yikes, I had to sit and just asked all 3 gentlemen if they needed to sit do to a health issue? 1 stood promptly and gave me his seat. Very kind. They sell many things in here I haven't seen anywhere but at places of business. Prices were good. They processed my insurance, called my name and got into my awaiting chariot- lol. Just a little FYI the entrance is at the valet area. I honestly could not figure out how to get into the parking garage last time, so this time my hubby was driving me. If you need a convenient pharmacy boom it's there! Loved it! They accept all prescriptions. I say this because I found the Cleveland Clinic would only fill RXs written from doctors there. Pain in the neck! 4 stars do to lack of room honestly for customers to move or rest. I did like the professionalism received when I checked in and left. Oh, they only had registers open at the back of the store. There is a register right by entry, I had no idea why someone had to wait at pharmacy area to pay for what-nots. Not efficient. read more

Was referred to this pharmacy by my daughters doctor office after the pharmacy I used to use closed. First couple months it was fine until 3rd month I called for refill and refill was never put in. We don't live close by and have to drive 40 mins just to get medicine. Got there and was told by the pharmacist that they only have 1 bottle since we didn't call for refill. Told them we did and was telling Don my whole conversation when I did my refill - Instead of apologizing she yelled at me and said "we messed up so what do you want me to do!!". Seriously??!! Complained to doctors office and they spoke to them on our behalf and promised won't happen again and to ask specifically for Joe from now on. Called again for refill this month, was transferred to Don, so I asked to speak to Joe and she asked for who's calling and all information. After that she told me that she is a Technician and can take my order, I told her that I was asked by doctors office to speak directly to Joe and Again she yelled at me over the phone - "I do Not understand why you have to speak to him when I can put in the order!!" I'm a customer - I have Not day anything that would cause her to Yell at me both times. If she cannot handle the phone - why not put her to work in the back?? I guess it's because they do not care about providing customer service at all. read more

Once they had my proper info, they were extremely accommodating & got my pain pills I needed for the extensive back & rib surgery I had. Everyone was SO considerate & they even let me put $4 on my bill for my refill tomorrow b/c I didn't have enough cash! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! They helped me find the place when I got lost, parking outside of the garage that I didn't have to pay & understood that in was in excruciating pain & got me in & out in RECORD time. They know what they are doing here! Some may say they seem short over the phone - but they are just really busy & trying to do their best to serve everyone. There is also a little convenience store inside with W EVERYTHING you could ever want or need for travel, vitamins, cards, drinks - even different braces for the wrists, ankles & knees. They didn't make me feel like a junkie like 3 WALGREENS 4 CVS' in town did - had tondo everything but show them my 2 12" incisions on my back after taking my back brace off & showing my hospital paperwork as well as my scripts & my directions post op. I had surgery on 3/18/09 and required a pain killer in liquid form. I called just about every Walgreen and CVS and none of them carried it. One CVS offered to order it for me and it would arrive in 7-10 business days. HELLO! how does that help my pain now??? I went by Hollywood Discount Pharmacy as soon as they opened the next morning. Within 10 minutes I was on my way home...pain Elixir in hand. As I've said before if you need a hard to find drug they will most likely have it at this pharmacy. read more

This pharmacy is conveniently located on the 1st floor of the medical office building inside Memorial Regional. It was heaven sent! I could not find a certain medication for my child, but low and behold, Hollywood Discount Pharmacy had it!! I was very impressed at the fast, courteous attention I received right away. No painful hour wait, weird looks, etc.. It was like going to your old school, traditional pharmacy. I loved it. If it wasn't so far away from me, i'd probably switch here. Our cancer vet wanted $2,500 for chemotherapy medication. The first round of treatment, I bought the Temodar for $881 plus shipping from an online Canadian pharmacy. But I had to allow 10 days for shipping. Because the chemo drugs change every so often, I wanted to check local prices, so we could buy the medication the same day the vet prescribed it. Hollywood Discount Pharmacy sold us the same medication (Brand, not generic), for $900, essentially the same as the Canadian pharmacy when you add shipping. And no worrying about when the package will arrive! I've bought the medication there twice and saved $3,200 over what our cancer vet would have charged! A few years ago, we had an elderly cat in kidney failure and bought his Epogen and supplies at Hollywood Discount Pharmacy for much less than the vet was charging as well. Note: this is a regular people pharmacy - our animals were prescribed people drugs. I'm not sure if I always speak to the same pharmacist, but they have always been very helpful and professional. I work for a local well respected neurologist in Hollywood who has been practicing here since 1984. Over the last year or so we have had numerous complaints about Hollywood Discount Pharmacy. Most of the time we just tell the patient that if they are not happy they need to try another pharmacy. This last complaint was just too much to ignore. A patient was given a prescription and brought it in to have it filled on a Saturday. The patient has had Medicare for several years and her prescriptions have always been covered by her insurance. On this occasion the patient was told that since they could not reach the physician to confirm the information she would have to pay $78.00 out of her own pocket. She then argued with them telling them that she had insurance and they have always covered her medications. They then told her she should see one of their doctors and she wouldn't have this problem anymore. I was completely speechless and told her that there is no reason for a pharmacy to force someone to pay out of pocket for medications when they clearly have insurance coverage. If they can't reach the physician to confirm the information they shouldn't be filling it at all. I hope that they don't do this to someone else and possibly fill the wrong dosage or medication as this could have deadly consequences. read more

I stopped there after visited a doctor in the professional building. I had been looking for a chair to put into my stall shower as my wife has fainting problems. Looked at many on line with good recommendations. just for the heck of it i went in and there it was, an assembled shower chair with one of the best recommended brand on the internet, Nova. I asked the clerk for information and she was very professional and courteous. I grabbed it, paid for it,put it in my trunk and that ended my concerns about assembly. I had the worst experience in filling my medication. I have a speech disability and at first Charlie refused to help me because he could not understand me, I then had to write what I needed him to help me with. I have commercial insurance which covers all medications with as little as a $20 copay. He started to fill my prescription and proceeded to ask me unnecessary questions like "Why are you seeing this doctor instead of a Memorial doctor?". He then said he thinks my doctor is trying to kill me. I asked him nicely to return my prescription so I can go elsewhere and he refused to do so. Is there somebody I can report him to because I think this is unprofessional. read more

I am on a fixed income and don't have much. My doctor is nice enough to see me and only accept what my Medicare insurance pays. He gave me a prescription for pain medications which I have been having a hard time filling. I have tried so many pharmacies and nobody has the pills so I was told to try Hollywood Discount Pharmacy because they fill anything. While they did tell me that they have the medication in stock, they told me there was a problem. First it was too soon to fill (by one day), but he would fill it if I paid him cash for the medication. I don't have much money and I told him that my insurance would pay for it. Then he started to get argumentative with me and went so far as to call me a drug addict, so I asked him to give me the prescription back and I would take it somewhere else. He refused to do it and asked me to leave. I was mortified that he would be so rude and disrespectful in front of all the other people in the pharmacy.
