‼‼ BEWARE!!! ‼‼ My daughter decided she wanted her hair light brown. I scheduled an appointment at Hollywood Hair Shiloh and after speaking with her stylist, I was told it would be $285 (because we had used Joico color instead of box color and it should lift pretty easily). I dropped her off at noon for her to get started. At 1pm the stylist called me to tell me the process wasn't working and they would have to go another route that would cost me $150 an hour if I wanted her to have light brown hair. At this point I could only have her hair colored back black with semi-permanent dye OR go the expensive route. I was not happy a bit but I couldn't let my daughter leave with light roots and tips, and black in the middle. At 4:25pm she walked out with dark dark brown hair, lighter roots, and multicolors in between... and my card was charged $891.62. She also was carrying three hair products she was told she needed because her hair was damaged from the process. Which I did not get asked if I wanted to purchase.. but somehow I did. Obviously we don't want them touching her hair again at that salon so we have called to try and find a solution. They are unwilling to refund me anything, even though they charged me almost $900!!! She acts like this is acceptable customer service, we are over reacting, and the owner had a straight attitude with my husband today. Do not go to Hollywood Hair in Shiloh... you'll end up spending WAY too much money and if you aren't happy with the results, the owner will act like her hands are tied. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I'm not one to bash on anyone or any company BUT this salon was awful. After being charged almost $300 for someone ruining my hair, I have to say something and save someone from going and getting their hair absolutely ruined. I wanted to keep my original hair color on top due to the fact that I'm not one to keep up on the maintenance of dying my hair and also, all I wanted was a TRIM. Two different girls worked on my hair to "speed up the process." While washing my hair another girl helped. My hair was so tangled that they were literally yanking my hair for 5 minutes just to get the tangles out after taking out the foils. After she washed my hair I just had to go. The damage was already done. I cried with how awful it was once I got in the car. My hair was extremely short. Uneven. And over processed. Save your money and your time. read more

The whole vibe is there is cool, professional, clean, and modern! And so inviting! Everyone is so sweet and every stylist I've seen working on other clients clearly has so much skill. I enjoy every second there from my greeting, to my consult with my stylist, to the oh so relaxing scalp massage I get when they are shampooing me they also offer me a drink while I wait under the super cool heat lamp thing. Rarely do I write complaints, but I'm furious. I'd been going to this salon for 4 years. Loved the gal who did my hair. No complaint about her. Twice in a row, I went in for my scheduled appointments, after waiting a good time.. was told I was there on the wrong day. I showed them their text message appointment reminder... but somehow that's my fault??? I get mistakes happen, so I kept rescheduling.. the next time... I waited and waited and started to quietly panic that it would happen again. By the time they got to me.. I was not feeling very well. This last time.. once in the chair.. I realized she had two people in chairs ahead of me. So I went to counter to say I'd reschedule when she was perhaps not so busy. I had family at home waiting on me and my time is valuable too. I was then told I owed a cancelation fee. Maybe they should have paid me for the two appointments they somehow screws up. And the hours I've sat waiting. I had not had my hair colored/high lighted in over 2 years, so was beyond excited for this appointment. Although the salon is quite nice and the staff friendly, I still ultimately had very disappointing results. I asked to be lightened up quite a bit, that I wanted a good amount of blonde to really lighten up my face. I showed pictures of what I wanted. I asked the stylist to show me the colors she was thinking of using, but she never did. The results cost me over $400 ($400!!) and it doesn't even look like I had anything done to my hair! I still have very dark hair and roots. I've honestly had better color services at far cheaper salons. Very disappointing to my wallet and spirit. read more

On April 2nd I had an appointment with Joshua Sprangler to get a color, cut and style. During my consult I had shown him one photo that I was hoping to replicate, however I changed my mind afterward. He appeared so confident and even excited. So I decided to go a little bolder. I basically wanted a purple/pink ombre style with a slightly shorter style. I was upfront about my use of boxed dyes and he suggested we use a lift. He scared me into this by telling me how he'd literally seen hair fry without the use of the lift. Of course I told him to just do whatever he thought was best. After all I didn't want my hair to fry. I was also upfront about any sensitivities I may have. Specifically keratin treatments. They cause me to break out in a horrible horrible rash. He assured me that we could use other hydrating proteins. Then he got to work. I explained that I wanted my hair a bit shorter, but not too short because it tends to flip outward and it's not a look I like. He assured me that he would cut it just right so that I wouldn't get that outward flip. He ended up cutting it too short and now I have that outward flip. I didn't complain though because my hair did look pretty good. After my first wash I noticed how my hair dried up rather quickly. After the second wash my hair was so... crunchy? And my color turned orange. I frantically messaged Joshua on Instagram asking what to do. His response was basically 'Hey remember that product I tried to sell you that you didn't buy? Yeah you need that!' Then he went on to say how fashion colors need protein to hold onto and since I'm sensitive to keratin there isn't much he could do for me. So why didn't he tell me this during our consult when I first told him I was sensitive to keratin? I was frustrated. It cost me a whopping $300 and now my hair is a mess! I ended up going to another salon to help put moisture back into my hair. While I leave every week looking like myself again, as soon as my har dries it's a hot mess! I'm told it will be like this for a very long time. Thanks to Joshua's rather aggressive approach. The salon did message me after I tagged them in my Instagram review, but who would go back to the place that caused so much damage in the first place? Furthermore, why did it take that long for them to reach out? And their response was even more baffling. They said they know keratin based treatments can be drying, but they can use another combo to help put moisture back into my hair. So despite knowing that this stuff can be drying why would one of their stylists be so pushy with it knowing my hair needs MOISTURE? And again, it causes me to break out in a horrible rash. These guys really need to get on the same page. During my initial review I had said that they must call themselves Hollywood because they give you that star treatment. Now I believe they call themselves Hollywood because you have to be a celebrity in order to afford the many addons they scare you into and then the months of care after the damage they cause. The salon and staff at Hollywood are wonderful and I love getting my hair done at Hollywood Salon. Grace is an amazing stylist and I love when she does my blowout and style. She provides very relaxing and thorough shampoo and condition and the washroom is very relaxing as well. I like how Grace sections out my hair then thoroughly dries my super long hair with a round brush, and always styles it the way I like. This salon is an absolute gem in the area! Since it opened a few months back, I've been here at least three times and I always leave very happy. This salon hits that perfect sweet spot for me: a welcoming space that is not stuffy or snooty, while at the same time a gorgeous salon that offers excellent services and pampering. This is it! And over the various times I've been there and the multiple interactions I've had with all of the staff--I've received wonderful and warm customer service. Now to the hair: beautiful work! Tried to do a color correction from black to brown on my daughters hair, correction did not work and was told they had to do another service. After taking 1 1/2 longer than it should, we left the salon with wet hair as my daughter had to be at a practice. They said if they could of seen if dried they would not of left the hair like that. Mind you they already charged us for 2 services that didn't work, so I guess the third service and charge would have worked. Her neck is burnt, her hair was fried, there is no way we would let them try something else. I called the owner and was just wanting to show her the hair, she was rude and blaming the stylist and my daughter. She had no cares to see the hair and had excuses why it didn't matter if she saw it or not. We never said anything about the stylist not knowing what she was doing, in fact she was a nice lady and this could of been a one off situation. They all work as a team, helping each other out to ensure the best and most efficient experience possible. They truly made me feel comfortable , something I have struggled with for so long due to the health of my hair. My stylist McKenzie was the primary. captain in my hair journey, but have been so fortunate to include Brianna to help my lashes look their very best. I just had a wonderful session with Madison C last night. We discussed my goals and she executed her plan exceeding my expectations. The salon? Very cold feeling. Then there's the "relaxation" room. Beautiful music, low lighting and a place to lay your head back while toner or conditioner is processing ALL while a slide show of products is continuously flashing.
