Never promise a tux on December 24th for a wedding on the 27th that's 5 hours away from the store! That was the first mistake! When the Tux wasn't there by the end of the day on the 24th (we were there twice), I was told by two managers (Sarah and Lori) that my son would be fully taken care of and refunded for the rental since it wasn't ready when promised. He was at their door the day after Christmas at 10am and by a miracle his tux was there as then he traveled 5 hours to the wedding. Needless to say, when he returned the tux he was only refunded $97 ($250 rental)! I firmly believe Lori took advantage of my son as what SHE wanted to do was just give him credit. In my daughter's wedding story, this was the place for the groom's tux, the groomsmen's wear, and a rental tuxedo for dear old Dad. I've used Men's Wearhouse before, and have been generally pleased. However, in this case, I didn't like the shirt or the shoes, and knew right away that I'd wear my own. In retrospect, I wish my final fitting had involved trying on everything, not just the shirt, slacks, shoes, and jacket. A day later, when I got around to trying on the tie, it was a clip-around-the-neck tie, pre-tied with an odd knot, and the fabric cut in a such a way that there was a pronounced curve in the tie. Looking down at my chest, it looked like a teal graphic depiction of a golfer's drive slicing off to the right, like four inches to the right. So, you're thinking, "Go back and ask for a different one," and I did have two days to spare. But I didn't really like the tie. Now you're thinking, "Just buy a new tie!" Maybe you do not have a daughter who is particular about colors, and very interested in all the ties in the party matching for photographs. This is where the whole wedding-reception-dress thing (see prior review of David's Bridal) came in handy. I agreed, for the ceremony, to pull and scrunch the top part of the lopsided tie into an acceptable shape, and hide the rest under my jacket. But, I argued, if the Bride gets to change into a reception dress for dancing and such, then the Father of the Bride should get to change into a teal-colored tie of his choosing for the reception. Compromise achieved; fashion disaster averted. Quality: I understand the quality of the shoes and shirts aren't going to be like buying your own, but that awful tie really disappointed me. Service: measuring, ordering, final fitting, and return, all were quick and efficient. I think most prom goers would be happy with everything (except the tie). But if you're an older guy, like FotB-old, and you're dressing for something like your daughter's wedding, then you may want to ask questions about what you're getting for your $, and plan accordingly. read more

We walked into Men's Wearhouse not knowing what to expect because we had never been before, but I needed a suit for Saturday. We walked in and Eddie greeted us immediately with a big smile and asked what we were looking for. Told him and he went to work. He measured me and picked out some jacket options. I picked my favorite jacket, chose my shirt, and Eddie did the rest. He put the whole suit together and I couldn't be happier. Then when I got my suit the pants were too big and too short, the shirt sleeves were too short, the cuff links were broken, and the shoes were the wrong size. I stopped in here the other day because of the buy one suit get one for $100 promotion. I've shopped here a couple times before and probably the single reason I haven't shopped here more are their prices. I think the trick is to shop their sales and avoid the place if you are going to pay full price. Leo helped me out and was very attentive and knowledgeable. He helped me try on a half dozen or so suits trying to find something I liked. After finding a couple suites I liked he also paired me up with a shirt and tie for the suit I didn't have anything else to go with it. Being a fairly skinny guy I took the liberty of having the suites altered a bit so they fit me better, as well as having the hems on the pants done. Here is my one beef with The Men's Warehouse. They sell unhemmed pants that cost from about $70 on up, then they charge you $12 to hem them. I have no problem paying to take in my suit jackets, but if I've paid $90 for a pair of unhemmed pants hitting me with a $12 alteration fee to hem them is a low blow in my opinion. The only good thing is that if they have made an alteration, they will make additional alterations on that seam free of charge. So if you get your pants taken in a bit then gain some weight, they will let them out so that you can still get into them. The buy one suit get one for $100 was really great as their suits were about $100 off regular price anyway, so it was almost a buy one get one free. I ended up paying about $420 for two extra long suits. The alterations cost me close to $100 which was a bit excessive in my opinion, but I don't have stuff altered all that often so perhaps that is about right. Being a tall, skinny guy I can always count on the Men's Warehouse to have something that will fit me, which is generally a challenge at other places. I'll continue to shop here when they have sales, otherwise I think I will shop elsewhere. read more

I just finished my most likely last interaction with Men's Warehouse today. After renting a suit for my son to attend my sister in law's wedding (in the now-flooded areas of Louisiana), we had to move quickly through the wedding ceremony prep. I found that most of my son's suit was right, except for the shirt, which was big enough to be a dress on him! This was also in conjunction with the groom's party's suits also picked up in a rush - their suits came in with no issues. However, it was the return today that was the deal killer. While dropping off the suit, I pointed out that the shirt was ridiculous. He asked if anybody caught this during the fitting. I explained the situation of just rolling with what showed up due to the situation with the impending flood. Well, Mr. Magnanimous decided to waive the late fee for returning the suit late I wasn't aware of the existence of the late fee). And, then he points out that, "well, we did have two locations down there (in Louisiana) where you could've dropped off the suit to avoid the late fee". SERIOUSLY?!? I pointed out to Mr. Magnanimous that: 1. Both of those locations are also underwater, TOO, dipstick. 2. And, at the time, we really were more worried about making it out of Louisiana ahead of the flooding than returning your stupid suit. Had it not been for the defensive attitude of the balding, pencil necked twerp in oh-so-generously bestowing me a late fee refund, this would've been a much more positive review. This place needs a serious education in what it means to be customer focused! Go here at your own risk!! read more

Stopped in on Saturday for a much needed visit to purchase a suit for my boyfriend. We wanted one for Valentine's Day (the next day). He works out a lot and has gone up about two or three sizes in the last six months, so shopping for him is always a bit of a challenge. Our wardrobe consultant, Yana, was wonderful! She spent so much time with us, measuring him and putting together outfits for Valentine's days. There was a special going on, so we ended up getting two suits, as well as shoes and a couple shirts and ties to go with everything. The best part - we were able to get the suit altered and back to us by that night so it was a perfect fit for Valentine's Day. Will definitely be back any time we are in need of a suit, and we'll definitely be requesting Yana. she was fantastic! read more

I was recently in a bind due to me leaving my dress shirt in Chicago for a wedding in St. Louis and of course I only found out an hour or so before I had to be at the wedding. I raced to the store but my entire time in the store could have been measured in seconds. I called ahead and explained my situation, and the lady asked me for my height and neck size and had the shirts I needed as soon as I walked in the door. They double checked my neck size just to be sure, and once that was confirmed, and I was being checked out, they steamed the shirt for me so I could wear it without ironing in. I went to Men's Wearhouse today 3/6/22 about 3:30-5 CST because I start a new job on Monday. I was a little unsure because I was told in the past that their prices were a little high. I went in had a wonderful experience with the white lady who was re-racking some items, she measured my neck and arm length and directed me to the clearance rack at my request ; where I was able to find some items to try on. I had another great interaction with the black gentleman dressed nicely in a vest working, he made me feel good about myself and what I was trying on. After trying on about 10 shirts I kept five of them, some of them fit differently than others and I just wanted to see how they looked on me. I grabbed another shirt, a more expensive one that was folded up nicely and I started taking it into the dressing room then a white middle-age gentleman in a vest probably about 5'9"possibly be the manager "he was dressed nice" stopped me and said he didn't want me to try the shirt on because he would have to re-fold it and pin it back together, I had another bad experience with this gentleman at the shoe rack. This gentleman directed me to the clearance rack and said "try on this one" it was a completely different shirt than the one I had selected and had actually already tried this particular shirt on. The only other experience with this gentleman earlier was hearing him complain to the other employees that they had a no call no show and felt that the employee wasn't fit to work there. At this point I was ready to leave, the nice white tall gentleman with longer hair checked me out in while that was happening the same white guy in the vest was talking to another employee about the amount of clothes that I tried on, the person at the counter saw what was happening and apologized. I was going to buy a lot more stuff but ended up leaving early because this White middle-age gentleman in the vest was rude to me. I was planning on buying shoes, more expensive dress clothes not on the clearance rack, socks and belts. I tried to be as descriptive as possible in this post as to the employees appearances for whoever is reading this. I came here ready to spend money and expected a high level of professionalism because of this company's reputation. Worse experience ever. We are getting married in 6 months and we went to Men's Warehouse to find a tux. We scheduled an appointment days in advance, waited for 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us for them to only point at the tuxes on the wall. My fiancé was unable to try on the tuxes, pants, or shoes... How are you supposed to pick out a tux for the most important day of your life based on a mannequin. Big shout out to Men's Wearhouse, for several reasons. First, I'd like to thank them for the free suit I received from the event they sponsored (Free suits for Vets) at the VFW by Scott AFB. Aside from that, I dressed myself and all my groomsmen from here (my 3 sons) and everything was great. It seems to me the lower-star reviews have a common theme..the customers were rushing through the process. If you take the time to work with them, they always take the time to work back with you (in my experience anyway) My only reason for leaving four stars instead of five, is the products can be out of my price range at times. I do appreciate the "buy one get one" deals, but that's the only way I'm really able to shop there on my budget. Which, I will surely continue to do here shortly as I transition from military to civilian next month! read more

Bought a couple suits here. I told the sales guy I needed seperates, he said they could do magic with their arterations. Ordered suits, 1 week later, no call so I stopped by, one 1 was there and wrong size, next weekm 1 right size and the other not there. Fitted suit, came back, fit like crap. Rude seamstress got into a shouting match with my wife. After 4 trip and lots of attitude, suits fit alright. Fast forward 3 months later, seam falls out. I take back for a fix, they tell me I need to have it cleaned first! it has a few dog hairs on it. I will never set foot in this dump again. The sales guy was a smooth talker and that was the only reason I went through all that. But he was not enough to go back now. I never write reviews. But this place really blows. We made an appointment to try on tuxedos. That didn't happen. Thy only would allow you to try on the jacket. They only have one of each vest so you can't try it on. I'm trying to wedding plan and I need to see things all together and on the person. The guy who helped us was very quiet and avoided the fact that I kept saying I can't tell unless I see it on. I have been shopping at Men's Wearhouse for my son since he was a toddler. He loved dressing up like his daddy did for work (school) and church! I love that I can buy suit separates for my son as he has shorter legs and a long torso. Also, the tailors there are so patient and willing to work for my son to make sure he looks as sharp as he can. My son is now 13 and there have been a few times when he's needed to wear his suit for an unexpected occasion such as a death in the family, yet because he's 13, what fit him 2 weeks ago no longer fits! Usually there is a two week wait on tailoring but during these instances, they have always been more than willing to tailor my son's suit on short notice! I would never go anywhere else for his suits. The only reason MWH did not get a 5 star rating is because their color selection of dress shirts is somewhat drab and lacking vibrant colors the younger generation likes. read more

Went here to rent a tux for a wedding, as I was a groomsman. First off, the employees are very friendly, welcoming you and offering assistance as soon as you enter the store. Got fitted and out of the store quick. Now for the issues I had. The shirt was pretty baggy in the arms. I asked them about it when I tried it on, and they informed me they have to be that way to fit a wide range of people who rent tuxes. No big deal, guess that's just the way it is. My vest was different than the other groomsmen's, which I didn't find out until the wedding day. Perhaps some of the blame should fall on me for not ensuring the vest was identical to the others beforehand, but I sort of figured that was the store's job and part of the reason why I was paying them money to rent from them. The cut in the front was slightly different. All of the other groomsmen's vests had a full back, mine had no back at all, just a neck strap and a waist strap, similar to an apron, leaving my entire back open exposing my shirt! Called the store to see what the issue was and what could be done. Was told that after a certain size that they did not carry vests with backs, only adjustable vests with straps. So even if I had noticed the difference when I picked up the tux (pickup scheduled for 2 days before wedding), there was nothing that could be done anyway. When the bride/groom went in to select what the groomsmen would wear, they opted for the groomsmen to wear only a vest, no jacket, as they liked that look better. So seeing as the store knew no jacket would be worn, if the store knew there was an issue with vests for larger guys (I'm chubby, absolutely, but not a 300 lb linebacker. the fact they didn't carry a vest in my size was absurd to me) it would have been nice to know this in advance, so the bride/groom would at least be aware of the fact some groomsmen would have open backs or opt for jackets instead if they wanted to. Looked a little bit stupid being the only one with a different vest. I'm not one to beg for handouts, but at least an apology or partial refund would have been appreciated. Also, after being measured for and paying for my rental when I initially went in the store, I was later informed by the groom that the price was supposed to be lower than I paid since we were not getting the jacket. Salesman had no problem refunding my money when I went back in and asked, just figure that's something they should have known to take care of when I first paid. Luckily the bride didn't notice my vest's differences during the ceremony/reception, as she would have been none too pleased. I did my best to keep from turning my back to her. She did find out about it later on, and she wasn't too happy about it. And surely some of the wedding guests saw my vest and thought, "WTF?" Overall, as I mentioned in the beginning, the employees were very helpful and friendly. The attention to detail could improve though, as surely ours wasn't the first wedding party to opt for vests only and the size issue must be something they've run into before. 3 stars read more

My experience with men's warehouse was not good. They didn't do proper job in tailoring suit and then tried to charge for re do. When I spoke to manager he acted like they had all the clients they needed, not worried at all about dissatisfaction of one, or the poor quality of their work. They won't be visited again. When I picked it up it still had the chalk markings on it!!! What a joke!!! I purchased two pair of shoes.
