Once the state test is passed you receive your real estate salesperson credentials. No experience is required and viola you start pitching homes. As getting licensed is fairly easy there is a glut of inexperienced Real Estate Salespeople in So Florida! Finding an experienced and knowledgeable sales person can be daunting. A home purchase is the most likely the largest investment you will make. The field is crowded with agents who have no knowledge of either real estate practices and or the market. I call them doormen and woman, simply put all they do is open the door of a prospective home for you. They know little of the nuances of that home, nothing about the area and if you ask them a question, they have to call the listing agent! That is not professional sales! So why all the narrative? to warn you that not all real estate salespeople full into this group. I had the fortunate experience of working with a true RE salesperson by the name of Freddy Mesa. I knew Freddy had been in the business for over 20 years and had been recommended by a family friend. I am a retired Vice President of Sales and Marketing so I can spot a good salesperson very easily. Freddy asked me pertinent questions not just how much can you afford, he asked what type of home I was looking for, any particular area that I liked, etc. Based on my answers Freddy got to work locating those homes that fit my needs. He knew the area I selected well, he had previously sold a few homes in the area and was knowledgeable on the market price (not asking price) of the homes. Since Freddy narrowed down the field, did his homework and only showed me homes that fit what I was looking for, I was able to find a home and close on it in less than 30 days! He negotiated the price and suggested what price I should offer based on market analysis. Putting an offer on a home is not so straight forward as many think. There are a few pitfalls that a less experienced salesperson may not know. Freddy has close relationships with home inspectors, title companies and can also offer you a mortgage. I used all his services and the people he recommended were top notch just like Freddy. Speaking of services. if you buy a home a home inspection should not be an optional service you put off. Remember this is one of the biggest investments you make in your lifetime. I highly recommend Freddy Mesa, if you need a knowledgeable salesperson and you want the expertise that comes with 20 plus years in the industry call Freddy.
