Valerie exceeded my expectations for headshot retouching. As a WOC I am always nervous when working with someone new because they don't always get my skintone right for some reason, and I come out looking either lighter or darker than I am. But Valerie nailed it on the first try every single time and was able to make adjustments if I needed anything more. I told her I wanted my pictures to absolutely pop on the screen and the page but to look exactly like I do in person so there'd be no surprises when I show up for an audition or a booking. That's a lot to ask, but she did it!! I also needed hard copies pronto for an upcoming agent meeting so she took the time on a Friday before leaving on a weekend trip, to add frame and name and provided me with everything I'd need to get prints ordered quickly and easily. No extra charge. And since she does the set up, that fee was eliminated from printing costs. In addition, she provided sized, ready-to-upload versions for multiple sites including IMDb, LA Casting, and Actors Access. And she was so helpful and pleasant to work with. Valerie is fantastic. Every one of the other reviews that says that are 100% accurate. She gets back to you IMMEDIATELY and does a FANTASTIC job. But, since I usually appreciate a review with more detail, I figured I would let you know why. I also uploaded the before and after photos below. Since Yelp makes them square and the change is in the right-hand corner, you will need to click on each photo to see the change. Now the important part of the review - the details. I initially went to another retouching place to have them retouch a photo my son took (which he is very proud of, but the building in the photo has scaffolding on it and we wanted it taken off). That place took the photo and took my money. When they returned the photo, they had cropped out the building with the scaffolding - as though they figured I would not notice. I did. I asked what happened and they told me it would be too difficult for them to do. They at least were nice enough to give my money back, but I still needed the photo retouched. I then researched further and found Valerie. Because she got such great reviews, I decided to give her a try. She was honest and told me that it was going to be difficult and would take a little time. Actually, it took her almost no time at all - I think it was about a week. I say "I think" because her e-mail sending the photo the first time appears to have gotten lost. I then contacted her and she got back to me immediately (as she always does) and told me it had been returned weeks before. She sent me a link to the photo and it was beautiful. I was really busy at the time she sent it and did not have time to download it. When I tried downloading it a few weeks later, the link had expired. I wrote to her and she got back to me within hours sending me another link. She is a real pleasure to deal with. I only wish I could stop into her office in person and say thanks.
