Dr. Holt's office provided excellent coordinated ortho care. My ortho treatment plan required coordinated care with oral surgery and my primary dentist over the course of 2 years. I strongly advise against bringing your family to this orthodontic office. When I reached out with a simple, sincere question about whether braces for my son were medically necessary, the response I received from their staff was deeply inappropriate and unprofessional. Instead of providing a respectful medical explanation, they included an extremely insensitive remark -- stating that my son "will not pass away if he does not get braces."No parent should ever have to read that kind of language about their child in correspondence with a dental professional. Using a child's mortality to make a point is completely out of line and shows a total lack of compassion, judgment, and professionalism. Orthodontic staff should communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect -- none of which were shown in this experience.Because of how serious and unacceptable this interaction was, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Dental Board of California to ensure that appropriate action is taken. Families deserve better communication, better professionalism, and better care than what this office has demonstrated. read more

All the staff is so friendly. I've been in twice now and I'm very confident in my choice to get braces through Dr Holts office.

My daughter did a phase 1 which was ok. Phase 2 was a disaster. They had us come in every 6 months and each time the dentist had no idea what we were in for and gave a different opinion, one of those opinions being "don't worry about wearing retainers" that's what phase 2 is for! The lady in the billing department, Nicole was extremely rude and unprofessional calling me a liar. Shaking her head and laughing while I was talking to Dr Holt. That made my decision to not return considering he allowed her to act so unprofessional. I work In healthcare. I would never treat any of our patients that way. I'll be looking for a kind, reasonable ortho! read more

I would say 90% of my experience at Holt Orthodontics was amazing. All of my trays fit fine, everyone was very nice when answering my questions, I was in Angel aligners for 6 months which was what they quoted me, and I was able to be seen quickly even after an attachment fell off midway through treatment. However, the last few appointments that I had were subpar. When I got my attachments removed, they drilled into my gums surrounding almost every tooth. I had no warning this was going to happen. My gums were left bloody and scabby, and when I called and asked if that was normal later that day, they said it was just part of the process and that they wanted to be sure they removed all of the glue. I had never seen anyone talk about this when doing my research so it was really shocking to me. I wasn't able to brush my teeth for almost a day and a half because of the pain and the blood. So just beware if you or your children are getting Invisalign or Angel aligners from this office. On top of that, they filed my bottom 4 teeth extremely unevenly on that same day. I had to ask another doctor to even them out when I went back a few weeks later to pick up my retainer. They still are not quite level with each other and now they look pretty jagged. I wish I had been warned about these things beforehand; it seems like important information. I would've told them NOT to file my bottom teeth down if I had known they were going to do that, because I actually really liked how they looked before that. I still have a really slight gap in between 2 of my bottom teeth that I thought would be resolved by the end of treatment but alas, it's still there (and I wear my retainer every single night). My bite doesn't feel perfect, but I was told it takes time for my teeth to settle and feel normal. It's been almost a year since I've had them removed and I still don't feel like my bite is perfect. All in all, I feel as though I paid a lot of money to be less than satisfied. read more

This place is absolutely amazing.... Everyone in the office is kind, fun, happy, etc. I received Invisalign from them and could not be happier. For someone who had a smile they did not like from age 14-35/36 they saved me. My smile is so beautiful and I have learned to love all of their staff as family. I still to this day get compliments on my smile they gave me. When complete strangers tell you "I spent my working life in the dental field and wherever you went to did an amazing job" I just smile from ear to ear and the flood of emotions come right back to the surface. This was my second time getting braces because I never wore my retainer as a kid so coming back as an adult I knew what to expect and paid 5k out of pocket. They seem to just want to get you in and out as fast as possible my teeth are not as straight as the first time I had my braces off. The tech said I was going to get my braces off at one point but I had to point out I had a noticeable gap between my front teeth so I didn't want them off yet. That was confirmed when the ortho came a saw my teeth but I was surprised how someone working there couldn't tell my teeth were not straight. They did take them off and used some sort of tool to get the glue off that trimmed my gums back and made me bleed and was fairly painful. I was not told about that part nor expecting it since I did not have to deal with it the first time I got my braces off when I was younger. I honestly was upset and cried on my way home. Overall I think the employees seem inexperienced and don't really know what they are doing. The appointments are not very often compared to other places. They told me in the beginning I would get bands which I've had before. Then seemed to forget about it so who knows if I should have actually had them. It was a very disappointing experience overall mostly due to quality of the service read more

Holt Orthodontics is magical. How is it possible to have every person that works in one office, not only be professional, but super nice?? This is THAT place. I have never, and yes, I mean never been to one office that is consistently nice, happy, and willing to help the patient. It all starts with the pre-meeting. Sam who coordinates patient payments, and so much more, is nothing less than amazing. She knows her stuff, and goes above and beyond to make sure that your payment structure works for you. The back office staff is just as wonderful as the front desk staff. They are all very welcoming, and no seldom is a word that they utter. You walk in feeling happy to be there, and leave, wishing that your appointment was sooner, rather than later. I know, thats crazy talk, but its true! There are three office around the greater Sacramento area, and I think what makes Holt Orthodontics so great, is not only Dr. Holt & Dr. Annello, but the traveling staff. Say what?! The entire staff moves from office to office, so you see the same great people, the same great doctors, and always receive the same great service, over and over again. Truly a genius business plan. All of the office are decorated with a sports theme, and its kinda cool to sit in a bleacher seat while waiting for your appointment. They rarely run behind, so you can pretty much bank on getting in and out, should you have other appointments that you're trying to get to. While you're waiting, they offer free coffee, hot chocolate, and you'll even find a plate of cookies! During each visit, your child is taken back, and if you'd like, parents are welcome to go sit and watch during the visit. I would encourage parents to go, because its the perfect opportunity to make sure your kid is fessing up to his/her dental routine. Kids earn points for checking themselves in, brushing before the visit (they provide toothbrushes and toothpaste) and wearing their Holt T-Shirt. The points can be cashed in for starbucks cards and a variety of other cool things. I like that they dont offer those cheap throw away toys that are commonly found in a regular dental office. The office isnt just for kids, Holt welcomes, and has a large adult ortho clientele. They are truly THAT good. They dont just offer the traditional metal braces, but will offer options that work best for your teeth. If a client ever has questions after they've left the office, they welcome phone calls! They will even send you the rubber bands that your braces may need should you not be near the office, and run out of them Truly excellent customer service. Holt Orthodontics is THE BEST orthodontist in the Sacramento area. If you or any family member has a need for braces, this should be your first place that you go to. The first visit is even free! I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Holt, Dr. Annello, and their amazing staff. I had Invisalign and am very happy with the results. I have an extra challenge in that I now live 2 hours away from the office, but if I had to do it over again, I would still use Braces by Holt - it's worth 4 hours of driving time! Just yesterday I was at their office with a question about a retainer, and they not only got me in early (I was an hour early for my appt) but staff and Dr. Holt took the time to answer all my questions and didn't charge me even though I believe I'm past the time period for follow ups to be included. Let's just start off with... I'm sure anyone who goes to their dentist is on edge. This was my first time at an orthodontist. From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed. The environment of the office is fun. You almost forget that you're there for an exam or whatever you're there for. I checked in on an iPad and noticed they have a point system where you can earn gift cards to major retailers. I was greeted by Amy and she made me feel so comfortable. She knew I felt very anxious as she was giving me the tour of the office. I was then brought in the back to get a model of my teeth. The process was absolutely painless. I was then taken in by Maddie, who went through the entire process of Invisalign. I never had braces before and was worried about my wisdom teeth coming out. She assured me everything would be fine. She gave me a timeline. She gave me a breakdown of the pricing. I felt like the entire team was transparent with the entire process, including my budget. Dr. Holt was also very informative. I honestly didn't feel like I was at a dentist appointment. I can tell Dr. Holt treats his entire staff with respect and treats them like family.
