Used to love this place, they were efficient, they cared about their customers. Now a days the staff are more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. they will let you stand there, nobody else in line inside or in the drive-thru, and finish gossiping about their personal lives or drama before even greeting you. My God what happened to actually working when you're being paid to? Retrain this staff ASAP. read more

All-night food in a gas station? Not exactly the recommendation I was expecting from a local friend but I rolled with it. Glad I did because this is exactly the kind of thing that hits the spot after midnight when deep fried mushrooms sound perfect. Stopping in, the process could be a little more clear for new folks but it's clear that this is the kind of place that caters to locals and regulars. Once you know, you know. With an order placed, the most awkward part of the process begins - you wait for your food and just have to hope that you know when it is ready, as far as I could tell. They take a name but I never heard one shouted out and I only guessed that mine was ready by having noticed who ordered after me and had their stuff and were on the way out. Order a sandwich and some deep-fried vegetables for that healthy balance and grab a drink for while you wait and wander around. So I am only going to review for now the coffee shop side of the station! Although the place was very neat and clean and I've heard they have great pizza so I may have to come back and sample that!!! The coffee shop is on the right side of the gas station and it is not by far even close to a gas station coffee! This is a real high end coffee shop better than any starbucks I've been too! The seating was comfortable, area was clean, free wifi, and very friendly barista! As I always do I ask the barista for suggestion and she was excited to talk about their drinks which shows me that she likes what they sell as well as takes pride in making the drinks! After trying the drink I could see why she was so excited and happy to serve this coffee. This was one of the best lattes I've had. I would recommend this coffee shop to anyone! I stopped at Holtfield Station and put gas in my Honda Accord. I paid at the pump with my credit card. The next day I checked my credit card statement and noticed I was checked $250. I was told this is their holding fee. Holtfield Station has no notices and/or signs stating that they have holding fees on their transactions at the pumps. My credit card company stated that it will take 5 to 7 days to post before it falls off my credit card balance. This is unacceptable and frankly nonsense. I wouldn't recommend going to Holtfield Station. read more

This jewel in Hillsboro is a mom and pop gas station that has ample parking, outdoor seating with television and some of the best eats in town. The subs are the best I've ever had and portions that make the chains look pathetic. There's plenty of snacks and beverages and the sweet tea is fantastic. The inside also has a coffee shop with a great selection for the caffeine junkies. It's clean, the people are friendly and I never miss a chance to stop here whenever I'm in town. Remember when I rate this 5 stars that this is a gas station not a restaraunt. That said, I would rather eat at this gas station than most restaurants. Holtfield is fantastic, the seating area is small but clean, however what it lacks in dining area it makes up for in food. You can get a huge variety of sandwiches and subs (as well as pizza, lunchmeat, coffee, ice cream, etc.). It is clean and never disappoints. My recommendation for this one might sound weird but try it before you knock it. I recommend a Toasted High Octane on white bread just how it comes, add bacon, lettuce, pickles and ranch. Then I buy my favorite chips (Salt and vinegar), and add a few of them to the sandwich. Their sweet tea is some of the best I've ever had, and I've heard they have some great coffee (I don't like coffee). After moving to Hillsboro from the city, I was a bit depressed that I had to give up my frequent trips to my local Starbucks. Upon doing some searching for a good coffee shop, I was suggested that I try this place! At first, I thought it was going to be low-quality products. Boy was I wrong! I was HIGHLY impressed not only by their coffee, but their super-friendly staff as well! It was very clean and they also offered free wifi. It's the perfect place to stop on your way to work because...wait for it...they have a Drive-Thru for the cafe! They also offers amazing cheesecake and homemade fudge on occasion.
