The young lady that helped both over the phone and then in person with the order was super helpful in putting together the perfect arrangement. During the past few years I have given Holtz Landscaping different projects to do here and there around my three acre property. The story is always the same. Sometime during the morning of the day of work Mr. Holtz shows up with that day's crew and introduces you, the home owner, to the crew and then leaves. The crew is usually unsure of what to do or even how to do. So, you, the homeowner, become the employee-for-free of Mr. Holtz and have to run back and fort and hold hands with the crew to make sure things go the way they should. With this last project, a rather large boulder-scaping project, Mr. Holtz, true to character, showed up in the morning and introduced me to the crew and was gone within ten minutes. This time I did my best not to get involved unless absolutely necessary. The following work day a different crew and the same story. I stayed away the best I could. The near finished work turned out to be worse than bad on every level. Nothing more than badly placed boulders, randomly scattered and half berried under what I call dirty stone-rubble. Not a hint of design or forethought in the entire thing. A truly botched-up job. So, I said I am not paying for this eyesore and that it should be hauled away and the property cleaned and the roadside restored. Holtz agreed to haul it all away. The day of cleanup man showed up with a bobcat and poked and prodded for the whole day until he got all the boulders out and hauled away. But, he left behind all the stone-rubble tangled up in many yards of landscaping fabric, a badly chewed up yard and a dirty street front. The next day Holtz sent me an email saying that he would come to cleanup the rest but first he wants to get paid for what he had not included in the billing of a previous project. A project that was completely finished and paid for in full upon completion a couple of months back. I reminded him that I have the receipt and his email verification of my having have paid my account in full. I did not hear anything from Holtz after I objected to his attempt at double billing my previous project. I eventually paid a bobcat operator to cleanup the mess Holtz left on my property. However, after all this I should say that throughout the years I have bought many plants and shrubs from Holtz and I still may buy a few more. But, would I use Holtz for any kind of landscaping work? Absolutely not. read more
