i have literally never left a review before but i had to for this place. i'm insanely disappointed in my purchase. i scheduled to doordash deliver flowers for my sister's first anniversary (included a screenshot of what i ordered), and i spent $114. i have included a photo of what she received. incredibly deceiving listing photos. the bouquet she received was NOT worth the price i paid whatsoever. half the flower variety is missing, it does NOT seem as big and full as in the listing photos. barely any greenery, barely any blue flowers. vase doesn't even match. and the blue ribbon is just tacky. very disappointed in this purchase. i am so lucky doordash was able to give me about half my money back because i don't think i would spend more than even $30 on the bouquet that she received. read more

I live in Texas and am ordering flowers for my mother's 70th birthday who lives in Coon Rapids. I, of course, waited until the last minute and just started looking this morning. I didn't want the tele-floral experience and started looking online. I have called several that don't deliver to the area and then found The Flower Shoppe. As the website states, they do no accept online orders, so I gave them a call and met Heidi. Heidi is owner's daughter and was helpful, delightful and easy to work with! She has assured me that my last minute flower order will be delivered tomorrow morning. She took time to explain the arrangements they had in stock and was able to make substitutions based upon my other's preference. They have had the business for 56 years and I proud to support local! This place makes you want to invent reasons to send flowers to people. It's beautiful, reliable arrangements with hometown personable service. It just really doesn't get any better than this! I've either ordered or received flowers from this establishment three times already and each time I'm even more impressed than the last (which may say more about my relationship with my husband than the actual flow-...I'm getting off track). I would highly recommend actually going into the store, if you can. The store is a floral artist's den and provides additional perspective on all of the possibilities for your arrangement. If you go in, be sure to ask to speak to the owner - for the life of me, I can't remember his name, but he's a gem of a guy! Last time I was in, I chatted with him for solidly twenty minutes. What an amazing life that guy's had! Upon exiting the building, he thanked me for my patronage and offered me a free mum! He had an entire stock outside for his patrons. What service!! If you're in the market for an arrangement and you've never ordered one before, then I also highly recommend that you check other places' prices out first. Ordering flowers for the first time can provide quite a sticker shock, so perspective on price and quality is CRITICAL! As mentioned in a previous review, the prices here are second to none, particularly for the quality. Not only that, but my experience is that the prices are also NEGOTIABLE!! This florist also delivers! They even offer same-day delivery for those last-minute situations. We used them for my father's funeral, so I thought I would use them to send my mother flowers for Mothers day. I have always picked them up and never really used a flower shop to deliver before. Also, in most cases, they have been pre-arranged. So, the call starts: Jim, answered the phone and I proceeded to ask him about delivery costs and the cost for a spring boquet. He was extremely rude. He handed the phone off to someone else and while he did, I heard him call me a Jacka**. I told the person who took the phone to forget it. Upset, I called back and spoke to Jim again to let him know that I was shocked that he would treat his customers that way. He said what do I want to do? Then he proceeded to tell me to F**k off and called me a F***king punk (BTW, I'm 42). After a few more choice words and threats, he hung up on me. Jim is an owner of the business by the way. The person I talked to was very rude. In fact, this was the second time I called to talk to someone. I called to try and schedule an appointment to discuss budgeting for flowers for my wedding. After two telephone calls to them , I finally got their attention to make the delivery by approximately 5 PM. The owner was not pleasant when I challenged their service - they were very much in the victim loop. So with a short distance delivery and for nearly $75, I sure expected better service. Period. I highly recommend anyone who is getting married to have my parents do their flowers my mom and dad flew out to Los Angeles and my mom did my wedding flowers which were absolutely spectacular!! I've grown up in the flower shop pretty much my whole life I started selling flowers in working with my parents at the age of five years old. When I'm reading the posts that people have written I'm sitting here in tears because I see what a blessing my parents are to the community its true my parents are generous beyond belief and they are so kind and loving to each and every person I've seen people come in countless times for funerals and my mother and father always have the right words to say and the flowers they do for them are absolutely impeccable!! It's as if they were doing flowers for one of their own family members!! The quality speaks for itself and let me tell you something you will always go away with more than what you asked for they always give things away for free and they have the best deals of anywhere I've ever seen in the world. I'm not only saying this because they are my parents it's very true!! My parents work so very hard people really have no idea what goes into getting the flowers shipped in from different countries or going to the different growers there is so much work involved in it but yes the outcome is so beautiful and to see the joy on peoples face and the happiness that it brings into people's homes is absolutely priceless! If anyone is so blessed to meet my parents they will surely agree. There is a comment below where the woman was quite angry but my father was just joking my parents are very real there's nothing fake about them they are a mom and pop business and there aren't too many of those nowadays being all the surplus stores have taken over. I feel a need to give a review of the way this place stepped up to correct a phone order on very short notice. Hosting a rehearsal dinner of 60 in Edina when I was from out of town (Chicago) was a challenge and the person who took my flower order on the phone from the Flower Shoppe got it wrong. When I picked up my order and took the flowers back to my hotel 30 minutes away, I discovered the flowers were not suitable for arrangements I planned to do myself. Furious, I called the shop and the owner called me back within a half hour. Because I had only two hours before the dinner and had to make nine floral arrangements, she and her staff made 7 of the 9 floral arrangements for me. When I drove back to pick them up, they were gorgeous and they spared no expense to give me exquisite floral arrangements way beyond what I expected. One of the bridesmaids loved the flowers so much she plans to use the Flower Shoppe in her April wedding. All businesses make mistakes, but they all don't own up to them. This place does. Yes, it was a bit of a hassle, but in the end, it all worked out and the evening was perfect. I highly recommend this shop. They were gracious and really came through for our family. This is the best florist! I ordered my wedding flowers online and cared for them as instructed and my lillies all dies the day before my wedding. My fault for using an online service with no human to talk to! We called 15 flower shops on a Sunday, and they were able to have them ready on Monday. I was bringing some food to this place as the people were working late into the night getting their Christmas trees all decorated for the holiday season. I recognized the woman who owns this place from several years ago when they showed me their true Christmas spirit when my daughter was ill. When I explained the situation, they would not take any money from me as all I wanted was to give my sick little girl some flowers at Christmas time. After all of these years, their kindness has not faltered. They are a small family owned business who is going up against some big dogs in their industry. Their customer service is unsurpassed. You don't run across old world service and commitment to customer satisfaction like this anymore. Jim, whom I assume is one of the owners, is a true gentleman and man of his word in addition to possessing the ability to create "the most beautiful arrangement of flowers that I've ever received", her words, not mine. Searching for somebody to deliver flowers to one of the most important women in your life from halfway across the country, and on a Sunday to boot, is a daunting task! When I called to place my order the phone was answered by Jim, whose gruff voice belies the true jovial and generous nature of this man with whom I shared a truly awesome conversation. I told him that I was looking to send birthday flowers to a very special woman and Jim said he "would take care of it" and that "she was going to very happy" with the arrangement he would put together for her. I was in no way expecting how graciously Jim delivered on that promise. The bouquet was made up of some of the freshest and most beautiful flowers I've seen and the sheer amount of roses that it contained absolutely floored me.
