Scott is a knowledgeable guy, but he sent two guys who stood around the marina for hours doing nothing waiting for my boat to get launched instead of putting in a launch request and arriving once it was in the water. When he charged me for all that "labor", I called and asked why. Scott got indignant and rude. Even though I paid the bill, when I called on future dates for service he screened his calls and wouldn't respond to messages for service. Not a great business model. I was ready to sell my 2009 Chaparral Sunesta 242 inboard with only 150 hours after having it at the dealership for service over and over again. I was frustrated with the expensive bills, the never returned phone calls, the extremely long waits and never getting the boat fixed for more than a few hours of fun (not to mention the fun rides with Sea Tow). I was referred to Scott of Holy City Inboards. First, he comes to where the boat is! I called him and he was at my house in a couple days & looked at the issues. He was only here for a couple hours; he ordered parts, said he would be back the next day to fix it and went on to his next customer. He was really there the next day! It was a Saturday. He arrived at 9:00 AM and started to work! By 11:00 the boat was fixed. He made a couple other adjustments, a couple suggestions, charged me a reasonable fee and left. My boat has run like it was built to run since that day. I'll have him deal with some unresolved dealership induced maintenance issues at the end of the season. While I am still scarred from my dealership experience and getting towed back to dock, my boat has been a JOY since Scott took care of it. He only works on inboards, but is knowledgeable, reasonable (you get what you pay for - except at the dealership), and a very nice man besides. I recommend him highly! read more
