I have had the good fortune of tasting their Truffle burger yesterday, and it is one of my top beef burgers. With meunster cheese, rocket, drizzled with truffle mayo - This burger definitely knows how to look after you. Their chicken burger on the other hand, was tasty but forgettable - don't get me wrong though, it was still very good. Order up with the dirty fries and you're set to be satisfied.

By the way if you didn't know, Mister Gee's only showcases one burger each week out of their 4 burgers: The Truffe, Fatboy, Cheese Boogie, and Chicken. Rocked up on a Thursday and the line was already 30 deep around 645pm, so the wait was roughly half an hour. Not a fan of queues, but they're there for a reason. This week was the Truffe Burger, and I naturally had to order a double. This burger is supposedly the favourite one among the staff, so I had expectations but I tempered them too. The dirty fries were also on showcase, so had to order those as well. The dirty fries were decent, but whoever made them didn't salt them properly as the salt was distributed unevenly....mega salty in the middle and barely salted on the edges. Not sure I'd order these again unless they fixed that up. The Truffe was pretty good...I wasn't expecting it to be, but I had no qualms with this burger, especially at $13 for a double. The truffle oil with the mayo and cheese went well with the grass fed Tasmanian beef patty. Did I enjoy this burger more than the Bronx at Five Points? Yes I did...I'm definitely keen to try the Cheese Boogie and Fat Boy now. My only gripe (besides the fries) is that this place isn't the most accessible if you live by the CBD, but if you live by inner west you should by all means go.

I told them it's my first time and they were so helpful in giving me options and their best recommendations. We decided on one of their recommendations which was the Paul's famous burger with everything including beetroot and side order of chips. The small size was more than enough to feed 2 people (unless you are extremely hungry then get your own ). We did a take away and this place was only 10 minutes from our place but we wished we ate it there. It did get a bit soggy but it was still delicious. Our recommendation is to eat it straight away so that you get the best burger experience.

The lord of the fries was a monstorous stack made of some mouthwatering slow cooked pulled beef marinated in a southern style smokey BBQ sauce, with some thick cut chips and a solid serve of melted cheese. This was ordered as a combo and came with a side of their thick cut chips, some of the best we have had. The chicken burgers are some of the best going around with a favourites being the clucking pig a fried chicken boheimeth and the honey badger, a tasty grilled chicken burger assembled with slaw and a flavoursome honey mustard sauce. We also shared a salad: brown rice with corn kernels and sun dried tomato a good option if you are after something healthy to eat. We could not go past their loaded shakes with the Caramello Koala granbing our attention. Being a fan of the chocolate, this shake was a must and did not disappoint. The thing that stands out at this place is the quality of ingredients, and the care put into making each dish. The fried chicken was HUGE, like brontosaurus size, and piping hot with lovely crisp skin. The crunchy slaw, the aoili, the chilli sauce. Lots of thought has gone into this, and the result is astonishing. The owner Anthony stopped by out table for a chat. This is a guy that genuinely cares about his customers, and he's crafted a one-stop family place that has something for everyone, from the fresh salads to the sticky glazed pork ribs to the char-grilled BBQ chicken. Everything looks sumptuous, everything's crazy fresh, and the prices are amazing. In your face, $20 gastropub burgers that I could have made at home. Oh and beers and ciders are $5. Yup. Oh, and he makes his own gelato, the kind that has crumbled up Crunchies on top. A proper Rennaissance man. I hear he used to be a banker. Special shout-out to the home-made chilli sauce. I definitely want to go back to try them all, but this time, i opted for the Field of Dreams ($11.50 AUD), a portobello mushroom burger that was one of the lowest-calorie options on the menu at about 470 calories for a huge sandwich. It was incredibly juicy and came with basil pesto, roasted peppers, cheddar cheese, lettuce and herbed mayo -- and an Australian flag, for good measure. Next time, I will try the Friends of Falafel burger ($11.50) or the other veggie burger option, the Garden Goodness ($11.50), a veggie patty made with beetroot. Their selling point here is the beef they use, which hails from Hunter Valley Premium Meats and is their own blend of Angus Sirloin. Sirloin is typically a more expensive cut with less fat and in my opinion, makes for a far better steak than a burger patty, but we can see what's up. I opted for the Heisenburger because it's a double and has the crack bacon (double smoked, triple glazed.) Double beef patty, bacon, double American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, BA sauce The food came pretty quick and the burger looked great. The crack bacon is aptly named cause it is the perfect blend of sweet and savoury. The BA sauce is pretty great, but they could have added a little more, and the rest of the toppings besides the cheese were more of an afterthought. The patties are pretty damn tasty, cooked just right and seasoned very well, the downsides are it could have been juicier (more fat) and they could have been bigger as they were on the thin side. The bun is probably the biggest let down for this burger which would otherwise make this burger awesome. It's a milk bun that holds it all together but it's dry and at some points so airy that it's a little chalky, which really brings the burger down. If the bun could be improved this burger would be dope as, as well as more BA sauce.
