My experience 2013 I have a mouth full of beautiful crowns…read morecosting a bundle of money. I broke the tooth next to my two front teeth so it was really seen easily! Half of the tooth fragment was still in my gum. When I came in, I wanted a superior job done with pulling the fragment and replacing with an implant and beautiful tooth to match my others. To date, this is the worst experience (Dr.Mark Davis thinks he is especially 'talented' in his field) I have had with a dentist and I have sat in the chair of many! I give the whole experience with him an F. Don't let his demeanor bedside manner fool you - he is soft spoken - gets right in your face and whispers as he talks. He discussed the alternatives and gave me print outs of the costs. There were 2 choices I contemplated. They were a temp bridge and a cantilever tooth that was attached to the adjoining tooth or an implant with a crown. The cantilever was more expensive but would give immediate good look with the bridge. The implant less expensive but would be stronger. I wanted the stronger, longer lasting remedy.. He pulled the broken tooth from my gum and made a flipper tooth that fit in the gap between my teeth. This was Friday so he told me it would be better to leave the flipper tooth in because any swelling from extracting the tooth fragment might make the flipper not fit into the area afterward. He gave me no antibiotics. That night and the next day my mouth swelled horribly. I called telling the answering service I was swelled horribly, in pain and had sinus pressure and felt like I had an infection. After talking with the doctor, the answering service eventually tells me there was nothing he would do and to come in on Monday during normal hours. I can tell you I was suffering and in a lot of pain. Since he wouldn't see me, I went to a walk in clinic reporting what I thought was a sinus infection. I was given an antibiotic that I promptly took. On Sunday, the sinus pressure was now accompanied by a migraine headache. The pain was so bad that I went to the emergency room on Sunday night. I was given IV for the pain and my migraine. I finally slept that night on those drugs. On Monday morning, I came in looking like death warmed over. I could hardly open my mouth. After having to pay $600 for emergency care and $150 for walk in service, he didn't even offer an apology. I am not sure what he was thinking but his behavior and concern for his patients was nonexistent and I felt powerless over that long week-end. He refused to go out of his way to see me much less take care of the situation. He ended up telling me that the first instruction to his patients was to take out the mouthpiece flipper after such a surgery. I can tell you - that is a total lie! His nurse joined him with his defense. This flipper mouthpiece was the entire reason for my pain, sinus infected feeling and migraine. I figured this was his CYA method to protect himself from lawsuit! I would have not done that but wished he had shown compassion! There will never be enough to replace the indignant non-response of a doctor toward his patient in pain. He told me that the tissue where the tooth had been - needed to heal and to see if the gum tissue would grow back sufficient enough to take a stable implant. So, I waited many weeks (I don't remember exactly how long I waited) each time he would take an x-ray telling me it hadn't grown back and that I should consider the cantilever instead. I kept saying I wanted the stronger remedy because I didn't want any more problems with the area...It was next to my two front teeth! It is almost one year later and I ended up traveling to my previous dentist in the town where I used to live and there finding out from him and other dentists I interviewed that a post implant should have been put in because no tissue will grow unless it can grow around the implant post. So the period of time I went without a tooth - only a flipper, the tissue was actually disappearing and shrinking because there was nothing to attach and grown to - I was furious! He simply wanted to do the cantilever and knew that the tissue would dissipate thinking that he would force me to do it his way. He told me the abutment would cast a shadow that would show up through the tooth if I chose the implant. I was told later by various dentists - there are all kinds of problems with cantilevers. I could hardly believe he purposely allowed the gum tissue to shrink and dissipate - on purpose - leaving me with few choices. With the help of my dentist, have had a successful implant, attached the abutment and now have a beautiful tooth. There is no abutment showing through (as he warned) my dentist said you have to be talented in where to place the abutment so it will not show. Overall, Dr. Davis was very, very uncaring - lied to me - flip-flopped on his pricing - tried to force me into a cantilever and doing so by methods very unprofessional.

There is no where in the world that I have gone for just a cleaning or check up that dentists are not complimenting and pleasantly delighted by his work. I too, will not have any major dental work done by any other Doctors. I live in California and come to Florida once a year just so Dr. Davis can do any work needed. I bless his hands, his mind and his level of detail in explaning everything he will do to your mouth and why. He is an artist and a top dentists, as testified by many in 20 years of work. I commend him and highly recommend Dr. Davis. His staff works in synchrony with his eyes and at times just by listening to his breath, they know exactly what he needs. They too are world class. Not exactly happy with the care my mother is receiving, I do have a few favorites in wing C though…read more The nurses don't check on the patients because they are ALL too busy at the computer. The nurses seem like over paid data entry clerks. The CNAs do the majority of the work. When the nurse call button is pushed it shouldn't take over 10 minutes for a CNA to come. My mother is a fall risk and has already taken a fatal spill in their care. The fall was so bad it put her in ICU at Bayfront, where the care there was A+.

My father has been living at Bon Secours Place now for 19 months and is a completely different…read moreperson than before. Prior to moving, which was necessary when his partner of over 20 years passed away and her daughters needed to sell the house, he would basically sit in his chair and watch TV all day. Soon after arrival he became very engaged in daily living and now is thriving. I tell people I feel like I got my Dad back!!! A very caring and conscientious staff are taking great care of him.

Most of the staff here are caring and compassionate. However, one of the intake counselors was very cold, insensitive, and made for a poor experience in a dark time for our family. I do understand the need for transparency, but telling family members your loved one is being discharged because they basically lasted too long here alive was distressing and unprofessional. Yes, you have policies, and yes, you go through them upon arrival. But my guess is many people trying to navigate the impending loss of a loved one are hardly going to remember everything they are presented with upon arrival at hospice. Several of us, including a pastor, kept dodging the low cabinets with dangerous corners near the patients' beds. The pastor did hit his head while praying over our mom. One day, I had to go to the ER because I cut my head on the cabinet, so beware of these sharp, low corners. You would think there would at least be caution sign or bright tape on them! The bright spots were the beauty and peacefulness of this place, and we also appreciated being able to sleep overnight in our mom's comfortable room. Thank you to the staff who cared for our mom until the very end. It is just a shame not all of the staff was as compassionate. I hope this review will help those contemplating bringing their loved one here.

Added alarm & stress, which is not good. After deflecting our concerns repeatedly & parting ways with Home Care Assistance as identifying insurmountable obstacles we feel more vulnerable & have added a security system to our premises
