Several contractors who came to fix the problems were surprised that there was an inspection on the house before purchase. They mentioned that these are the kind of problems they see if there was no inspection on the house before purchase. Of course, Amerispec doesn't take any responsibility for their work and it's all in the fine print. In addition, a few months later, they tried to get me to sign up for an "additional service" to review the inspection report with their inspector for an additional hourly fee! Of course, I didn't take that offer and sent them an email to express my dissatisfaction with their work but didn't get a reply which is not surprising.
