I'm a first-time home buyer with admittedly little experience or knowledge about most of the things involved in buying a home, but my experience with Mr. Beckstrom and Madison Home Inspection LLC has set the bar awfully high for any and all inspections I'll ever do for a long time. Mr. Beckstrom shook my hand and greeted me and my real estate agent warmly and then set to work. He was surgically thorough and fastidious across the whole property, checking every cable, every covering, every pipe and wire, every tile and corner and trim. He was extremely knowledgeable about code, regulations, and best practices regarding any part of the home I was curious about. When he was finished, his report was extremely detailed but cleanly and helpfully separated into categories that were easy for a home-buying newbie like myself to look through. As first time home buyers, we could not have had a more simple and informative experience for our inspection than with Kyle. His response time is fast and will immediately provide advice on the most proper services for the inspection area. In our case, he explained the benefits of a radon test and we are happy to have that peace of mind. On the day of the inspection, Kyle had no problem letting me tail behind him and he would explain to me the issue and how best to resolve it. He would also explain how many of the home's major appliances worked and the repair schedules. This was exceedingly helpful to someone with little knowledge of these items, so I feel much more confident in being able to take care of the home. The existing reviews on here were promising, and they certainly weren't misleading. Kyle did a great job. He was friendly, very thorough, and knowledgeable. I asked him to point out everything and everything, and he did. I got a lot of tips for maintenance as well as some preventative maintenance to prolong the life of things on the home as well as an explanation of how a number of things worked. Never having owned a home before, it was very appreciated and I ended up taking like 6 pages of notes. He was happy to answer questions, even if they were stupid. For thoroughness, I felt he was very thorough. He noticed a gap in some mortar that was behind something, and he didn't miss anything that I had on my checklist. The report was available online within a day or so of the inspection, complete with everything including pictures. It's definitely a good report. I've already recommended him to a friend, and I'd definitely recommend him to anyone else as well, especially if you're a first-time homeowner like myself. This is our first time buying a home so we didn't know what to expect when doing a home inspection. Added to that, we are moving to Madison from out of state so we were even more nervous about not being able to be there for the inspection. My brother lives in Madison so he was able to attend the inspection. My brother told me that Kyle was very thorough, and informative. Kyle explained everything to him as he went through the whole inspection. When Kyle finished the inspection my brother called my wife and I on speaker phone and Kyle walked all of us through his findings. I am a first home buyer, and I accompanied Kyle on his inspection of our new house. I was very impressed with the thoroughness with which he examined the property. I saw things there that I missed on two other walk-throughs, things I might never have even known about. Kyle was the best I could have asked for! I am a first time home buyer and do not know much about what to look for or how to have a convo regarding those things. Kyle went through everything thoroughly and explained in detail the minor things I could do and the things that should be completed by a licensed individual. I asked follow up questions about a re inspection if the seller had a tradesman complete the work. Kyle quoted me prices but reiterated the importance of having a qualified person to do the repairs for the safety of the home. We recently bought an old house. Kyle did a very thorough inspection and he is knowledgeable on the evolution of home building. He knows about foundations, plumbing, and electrical systems of the past and how they should be updated to comply with current codes. During the inspection he answered my questions with substantive detail and never rushed. During the inspection, we couldn't access a crawl space and the closing deadline was nearing.
