A true paradise. So finding Mayrand was an interesting and clever treasure hunt. Back in the late 80's my dad would take us to a place in Winnipeg called Jensen brothers. This was pre-Costco and a true cash and carry. This was the type of place where you could get some smoking deals on large quantity items. Discovering Mayrand was an exciting and intoxicating display of goods in large quantity. Do you need a 14L pail of Ice cream? Probably the hell not! Unless you are having the whole neighbourhood over for a block party. Or do you need a whole leg of prosciutto? If your family is from Italy or you are having a feast you may need one! Okay folks, Mayrand has quantities for everyday shopping as well. Lots of items! Pretty much every department. They also have a huge restaurant and commercial business side catering to restaurants, bars and other food service outfits as well. I will be honest with my review. It's not all unicorns and gumdrops. I did buy a very cool sharp oyster knife and did search on Amazon after and found it for $20 less. Yes I was a tad pissed. I did want it ASAP though to shuck the two dozen oysters I just had purchased. So shop and understand your prices. Some items here are hella cheap. Think bulk quantity. It's located on rue Ontario in Hochelega. A little far from me but very accessible by public transportation and bike paths. Evasia is run by a lovely Asian couple! Very friendly and always willing to give you some plant advice. You can really tell that they love plants. Also, they will put plants on hold for you to make sure it doesn't sell out! There is a huge variety of cacti, succulents and tropical plants. Over the months they've had monsteras, calatheas, pothos, snake plants, fittonias, etc. If you're looking for a particular plant, they'll probably have it at some time or another and it's usually cheaper than everywhere else. Really worth the visit! They also sell lots of cute pots, macrame hangers, and furniture!

I just went it today to get a couple adjustments on my new leather bag. I needed to get few more…read moreholes made in the strap and add a small leather braid around the strap so it wouldn't flop around when I walk. The guy behind the counter (in retrospect I should have asked his name) was very helpful and made the adjustments in no time at all. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It import European clothes mostly from France and Italy, it has unique designs that you can't find anywhere else. The selection of clothes for women has much bigger but it has some stuff for men too. What I like about this place is that you know that you won't end up at a party or an event with someone else wearing the same thing. Price are above average as you are getting about average quality and design. This a small family boutique to reimbursement just exchange within 1 week. Although if you come during sales time its really worth it. One last thing to keep in mind, the clothes are mean for slim people. The don't have bigger than Large and usually Large is like our Medium.
