***UPDATE SEPT. 8** My husband and I's accounts look like they have stopped investigations, however, both accounts show a payment date of October. Original review: There is absolutely a reason this place has such a low rating. All these good reviews?? They are an effort of the customer trying to get money off their bill. When you talk to a live person you receive an email with links to review sites with a coupon code that you get $10 off for referrals. They specifically ask you to mention them by name "so I can win the office competition!". I was misled from the get go, "lets see what we can do in 30 days!!" The initial consultation was very promising about getting things taken care of in 30 days, maybe 60. Upon talking with the advisor crew member (a female introduced as one of my lead investigators) earlier today they had informed me that they can only send so many investigations per month, thus September there was going to be more for different creditors. Their investigation would not conclude until mid November. They would not have any updates until then!! Looking at the website schedule they were sending more to the same creditors. I called back and asked (another person, a gentleman this time) about that I was told that the person I spoke with had misinformed me and that was not the case. Being frustrated, since she told me she was a lead, I questioned him about that. He did inform me that they send the same disputes for 3 months. Only one month is necessary. I told him I wanted to cancel, only to get transferred to the initial woman who then tried to argue with me, tell me they were the #1 company in the nation, no one could do what they do, online bad reviews were misleading me etc. (Made me realize the bad reviews are more than likely spot on.) I think i'm cancelled but i will be having a conversation with my bank about this company to make sure they don't take more than they are technically owed. RUN AWAY! read more

I was referred by my mortgage broker to Home Loans Assist. My husband and I have been pleased with the results. They improved both of our credit scores tremendously so we can finally re-finance our home. The only criticism is that any time we called we talked to a different person. Too many people to talk to and tell the story all over. Now I have called to cancel our service since we just refinanced, and they tell me that it will take awhile. We have $200.00 a month coming our of our checking account and they just took out money last week. Now it will be April before they stop. Not right. I am grateful to "Daniel" for talking to me and explaining the process. He is going to call me back on Monday. I referred two of my friends to the company. read more

They promised to fix my credit and instead they rob me. They profit by praying on the poor. They told me if I paid a $29 set up fee and $99 for the first month they would send a letter to the creditors and dispute a mark on my credit. if it didn't work we could take other steps steps for $99 per month or cancel. They sent a letter, that I could have sent for free! After a few weeks it was rejected and I realized they ripped me off and decided not to continue with the service. It's been 8 months and I just discovered that they have been charging $99 per month and they have done nothing. When I first they called they said no worries & a month later they still charged me!!! Don't buy in its only $30 to sign up & monthly becomes $100/month. It's a scam!!!! They're not even communicating to you what they are servicing you. Derrick from customer service is horrible, he was interrupting from the get go & when I started to get inpatient interrupting him he said "thank you for interrupting me again." WHAT???? The whole first conversation you interrupted me I had to say are you even listening to me or just shout at me?? I spoke with my "account manager" Noah I believe his name & he refuse to give his reporting Michael because he doesn't do phone calls or email from customer. I had a great experience with them. I used them approximately 7months, I did have to work with them as far as faxing all my credit updates and bad credit paper work i received in the mail to them. And sure anyone can do it themselves but there is no way i would've written letters to the creditors to make them remove stuff off my credit report. I only paid $99.00 a month and the first month was 29.00. My credit score went up in about 4 months but i kept using them. Ive had friends pay all the money up front for credit repair $800-1100 with slower results, so i am very satisfied. I do recommend them to friends and always give the advise my broker told me to get a secured credit card and not to spend more than 19% on my credit cards. read more

I, too was referred to HLA by the lender of Highland Homes in Cross Creek Ranch. I began working with HLA in April 2016. Every few weeks I would call them to get an update or learn something new and I found that the reps weren't consistent with the words. They were inconsistent with the investigation statuses, dates investigations were sent out, etc. It was downright frustrating. After 3 months, I cancelled. At this 3 month time I noticed that my score came up 20 points. According the the sales rep, they were expecting an increase of 20 points per month. In August 2016, I decided to try one more time. I had the score to buy a house but decided to hold off to see if they could get the credit score up 20 more points, so I rejoined. What a DISASTER!!!! The inconsistencies were worse. I eluded to a 20 point increase earlier. This increase happened when HLA got a recent 30 day late removed. However, when I went back, these intelligent people, contested the account and the 30 day was put back on. Needless to say, I could not close on my house. I was furious, they lied and said it wasn't anything they did but Jeremiah (Account Exec) and I found out that whoever wrote the investigations use my first credit bureau from April. Jeremiah ask that to give them a couple of months to sort out things. I also realized they always always lie about when they send out the investigations. I would always go to the bureaus to verify their statements. HLA always tried to assure they have proof in their system that the investigations were sent. Well, yesterday I called to get the list of investigations that should have been sent and again they were contesting items not on my recent report and they did not resend the investigation they screwed up on. They had me hold for about 30 minutes, some person by the name of Logan Schafer, tried to assure me that they are doing a great job, just horrible bull. I was then put on hold again to listen to a seminar on credit repair. Simply horrible people. All consumers beware of this company. Oh by the way, they also go by another name. If interested in credit repair, just around with people who have gone through the process for their recommendation. Check out creditboards as well. Ok let me begin by saying I have been working on my credit for years! I have paid other people/companies to assist me in this process and have been unsuccessful. I was referred to this company from a local loan officer in California after I explained to him what my scores were. I contacted Home Loans Assist and of course I thought it was a sale pitch from the original rep. I would give it a 5 but initially I had some bumps in the road and I was on the verge of cancelling my service. However, when I contacted the company because I was wanting to know the POA (plan of action) the original rep was not returning my calls or emails. The call was answered by Jeff A. he explained that their are various departments and its not just one person working on my file. Since then I have had no problems. I have been working with this company since March 11, 2015 and I have had over 20 deletions including lates/charge offs/outdated accounts. Since my 1st contact I have spoken to Marie, Buris, and Crystal who have been very helpful, informative, and provided excellent customer service. I was apprehensive in the beginning but I am now about a few months away from my goal but I see credit score improvements. I was just approved for a $2,000 limit unsecured credit card. In my experience, I lost money and my credit score went higher after three months of paying Home Loans Assist. Each month I sent inquiries in asking for a status. Each month, I got the same textbook answers. I asked for a refund, I received a notice that I was no longer "qualified" for their program. Burnis Heard is a thief in my very strong opinion. Willing to back Up 100% of this with documentation. Heavy sales pressure up front drawn out process designed to keep payments coming in each month. Sounds cheap, not for the results. By far one of the biggest scams I have ever dealt with. I don't even have bad credit, but was encouraged to contact these dinks by our mortgage broker just to be on the safe side. I was charged over $300 in one month. And should I mention that it was for something that i had canceled...? I was charged on the 5th, the 10th, and then the 17th. After I had canceled my account with them. I was also talked down to (and was told that because I'm not the bread winner in my family, I better hope that nothing bad happens to my husband. Who says that?!) & put on hold for over 15 minutes. It took over 2 months for me to even be able to talk to someone to cancel this stupid scam. Not worth it. These people get 0 stars. A mortgage banker referred me to them and all they did was dispute EVERYTHING on my credit report. I cannot get a home loan because of this. Now I actually have to undo the the disputes myself, so I paid them for nothing. Either they are uninformed or just evil, both of which are unacceptable. The contract is for a fee of 500.00 to remove negative items from credit. I was overcharged. The contract was for fees of 199.00 and six payments of 50.00. This ballooned into being charged 450.00 for the month of August, and then in September an additional charge of 350.00! A reputable company would be able to see charges billed and balance remaining! What did I get? A reversal of 299.00, and told I had an additional five payments of 50.00! That is 750.00! WOW, simply stated, DO NOT BE GULLIBLE. As a consumer, you can do the same for free. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I was told fixing a 180 day parking ticket for $130 that I never even knew existed was a "piece of cake" and would probably not take more than 30 days, maximum 60 days. Well, that was in July and after 6 months and $524, it's still there. They never call or email you, and when you call or email them, you get the same answer and a different person every time. Home Loan Assist is a small-time Internet scam that is reminiscent of nasty, slick traveling salesmen, and sketchy used car loan shops that troll the poor and underprivileged with double-digit high interest rates. They claim 'we are working hard to optimize your credit report and scores' where of course, they do not. After advice of a mortgage lender, I fired a different non-productive service that after a year and over $1,200 in fees achieved not even the simplest of credit report corrections, a mistaken identify, completely wrong name on a line item of a creditor report. On the contrary, Home Loan Assist was supposed to be a quick, smart, and effective alternative, and would 'assist' in the home loan process by efficiently removing derogatory items from a all three bureaus, with major results within 30 days. In reality, they take money, in my case, $99 a month, plus a sign-up fee, and have a crappy website that shows all items they plan to dispute from the bureaus. Then, in a haphazard sort of way, display a list of all the dispute letters or 'activity' they have in theory sent to creditors on the client's behalf. These letters are supposedly mailed directly to creditors. The creditors have 30 days to respond, and being that the letters are sent on the client's behalf, a response via regular post should arrive to the client within 30 days. Well, not a single response was received over a three month period, despite all the active the service listed on the website. Initially, the service representative, claiming to be working from home, stated that the service was quick, and get this, because of COVID-19 lock-down, creditors would be slow to respond to letters, almost guaranteeing automatic removal of derogatory items, inferring that the law dictates that if there is no response to a dispute within 30 days, any disputed line item would automatically be removed. Well, of course, I had to start right away in paying my fees, and I did. Further, he claimed that I would definitely see an increase in my scores within 30 days. Three months went by, not a single derogatory item was removed. No credit score increase. No disputed item removed. No response letters were ever received. No correspondence from the firm attempting to find out details to develop a strategy in removing items. No response except automated receipts for payments. I cancelled 11 days after the third month, they charged for the full month anyway. Ten days later, I received a phone call from 'Ted' and the 'Advisor Team' sent an email, the first ever, claiming that there was a pressing issue just discovered on my reporting that had to be discussed immediately. In reality, I monitor the reporting daily, keep a strict budget of every card balance, every penny spent, every transaction associated to my name, and there have been no changes. As a matter of fact, nothing has changed on my credit report for years. This was all a scam. When you're searching for a service to handle the bogus reporting nonsense of the 'agencies', save your money and skip past these charlatans, they are predators and useless to your goal of having a service remove derogitory reporting. read more

A+++ Company. I was referred to Home Loans Assist in Jan 2015 by my mortgage broker as a way to prepare for buying a home. My current credit for the past 3 years was ok and paid mostly on time, but all the years prior to that were riddled with a ton of negative line items that kept my score below 600. It was a mix of medical, credit cards, and even a public tax lien. I was skeptical that they could really make a difference...I was dead wrong. They hit the ground running and the negative line items started falling off. Taylor M. is one of their Sr. Specialist. He took the time to explain how the process was working and answered all of my questions about my file, and even made sure I was maximizing my positive line items for the best results. The cost of the program is affordable and worth every penny. All of the staff I have spoken with have been awesome! I am nearing the point where I will not be needing their services since there are only a few negative items left. I would highly recommend HLA to anyone looking for credit repair!! read more

OMG! I was referred to HLA by a lender that was helping me for home purchase. It seemed that they started out ok. I took all of their advice and did the things suggested by them. However instead of my credit score going up it consistently went down. I was with them from Feb 2016 to Aug 31, 2016. When I emailed and called and asked them to cancel my service; that is when their true colors began to shine. The customer rep Jake Zastrow is a horrible person and should not have a job in customer service. Not only did yell at me, but he constantly over talked me. He spoke so fast like a crooked car salesman that I could not retain anything that he said. And to add insult to injury, he threatened to sabotage my credit file.Who does that? I am so disappointed with this company. I called and asked for the supervisor to call me back to discuss this matter.... and, yes you guessed it, no one has returned my call. read more

I cancelled September 13, 2015 in writing as I was instructed to because my husband was laid off. We had the money but needed to conserve in case he didnt get a new job quickly. Karina Parry is who i originally cancelled with. On 9/23/15, Marie Walton requested payment for a past due account. I spoke with her, emailed and send me request again. I was instructed that they bill in arrears. I agreed and the next month came and again I was billed. I then spoke with Kim Alonso on 10/14/2015 and went back and forth regarding this. After 2 months of disagreements, she billed me again and again. I provided countless emails with documentation. In december, she promised she would proceed with cancellation and needed to bill for 11/11 (which was not in arrears). They continued to call me, even after the discussions. On 1/15, a gentleman called me to collect the money. I tried to explain the situation as calmly as possible and he promised to discuss with Kim and would not just charge the account he would speak to her and let me know. Well, I was charged on 1/15. I am so furious with this company I dont think I will ever agree to having the help us again. Sadly, I believe they did help but when my husband got laid off temporarily we wanted to cancel to make sure we werent in a bad position. I am disgusted with this company. read more

I was referred to HLA by my lender. I've obviously never worked with credit specialist, so I didn't know what to expect. I called and they were very friendly, even gave me the first month "free" because I was referred to them by a lender. After a few months of great service and hard work my score was where I needed it to be. I requested they stop disputing accounts and they gave me paperwork to fill out. Turns out they ended up sending a whole round of disputes which prolonged my process a whole month. So I had to pay for this month that I was suppose to cancel HLA. Ok that's fine. After this round was done, I requested a cancelation of services. And they said ok, but said I still had to pay for this new month because they " bill after working on your file for one month" which seems like a load of crap. What kind of company bills AFTER services are rendered. That just makes no sense. So that means the first month they claimed was free was a LIE. So that's two months I've paid for when they've done nothing to my file. I paid. I was done. And now they keep calling and calling claiming I am behind on my bill! So if I don't pay what? They're going to report me to the credit bureaus ? read more
