Nice, friendly people, but they're more concerned with joking & talking than they are with giving quality cuts. After 3 or 4 cuts, I was done. Last time I ever visit this shop. Kerri and the other barber are more concerned talking poorly about other past co workers than cutting hair. This is extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing while sitting there and getting a cut. I'm a professional that wants to relax for 15 minutes not listen to nonsense. Grow up. read more

Honestly I went in there because a friend referred me to the place and I absolutely regret it. I asked the barber to to a fade, low to high, start on half and then take it to 1 and trim it by scissors following the hair line, only tips on top. The barber had me facing the hall all the time I didn't get to see anything that he was doing as he didn't turn me facing the mirror not even once. That being said he never faded he only shaved my head on the sides and fucked up my hair so bad that I walked out and went down the road just to have my head shaved because it was unbelievably bad ! This is the result of the haircut that costed me $25 plus tip... I was not believing my eyes when I saw what was done. Zero sense of how to cut a hair and follow up. He just did whatever he felt like doing and it's just terrible, the worse experience I've ever had with a barber ever if that can be called a barber! read more

Great local barber shop. You are greeted by the friendly staff as soon as you open the door. The shop is deceptively big with I believe 5 chairs. The place doesn't have appointments.. I've gone down here a few times over the past year or so and I've never had a bad haircut from here! All the barbers are great and the wait isn't very long at all, even during the busiest times. Also, their prices aren't too bad, just $16 for a regular cut and they also offer a student discount for college students as well! Well, looks like I need to find a new barber! I've been going here for at least 10 years, and, before today, I would have rated this place with 5 stars. However, they REALLY dropped the ball just a few minutes ago. During this Coronavirus debacle, we've all waited months for any barber to open. Now, they are finally doing so, but often with modified hours, which would be understandable. But Hometown has dropped the ball in not one but TWO ways regarding their hours. First, they have not advised of their modified hours on their website. This meant that I came all the way down from I work in Dedham (53 miles) so as to get there on Tuesday (2 days ago) before their advertised closing time of 7PM for that day. No good! They have on their door that their Covid-related hours are only till 5PM on Tuesdays now, though they are still open on Thursdays till 7. Well, it would have been nice to say that on the website, so I wouldn't have to fly down here for nothing, but I'll give them a try on Thursday anyway. So today - Thursday - I rush down here during a rainstorm and arrive at 6:29, plenty of time, I thought. Wrong! They had a desk set up right at the door, and the girl there said they aren't taking any more customers for the day. There was nobody waiting, all the customers were being worked on. I asked if appointments were necessary. She said "no," but they were closed to any more customers. I pointed out that they might want to clarify that on the WEBSITE, so that people don't waste their time, especially if they're coming from work at a distance, and then I marched out. Bonny, you need to consider that a large number of people in the Cedarville/Bourne area work up in the direction of Boston, as I do, and cannot come charging down here for a haircut on the one day you SAY you're open till 7PM, only to find out that being courteous enough to arrive NOT at the last minute gets them nowhere! What's the point of saying that you're open till 7PM on Thursdays when you're not open till 7? Again, I wasn't piling on to a line of people still waiting, there were none! Very bad and inconsiderate policy! I guess I'll see if my old barber is still around in Halifax from when I lived in Plympton. WAY more of a detour from work, and 20+ miles from home, as opposed to exactly 1 mile like Hometown, but I go to a barber for a haircut, not to be aggravated after a 53 mile slog to get there IN TIME, for nothing! This place is the real deal! Just finished with the full treatment ... (had a full "Santa" beard/short pony tail when entering) high and tight hair cut, beard removal/straight razor shave and a man's facial. My barber, Humberto, was friendly and expert at his art. All here were welcoming and friendly. So reminds me of the barber that my father took me to in the '60s (sans the girlie magazines ). Highly recommended. read more

Moved a few streets away, came here with my oldest son. Everyone was very pleasant, cheerful and welcoming. You can tell they are good with customers. I saw them joking around with someone as they left. It's nice to be close to a good barber who cares for their clients. My son got exactly what he wanted in a timely manner. This is a great barber shop. Go here if you need a haircut! Clean, pleasant, friendly environment. Greeted warmly when I walked in despite being first time customer. With three barbers on they were busy on a Tuesday afternoon when I walked in, with three customers waiting their turn in front of me. Not to worry, they have free wifi. And the barbers are all efficient so that I only waited 10-15 minutes before it was my turn. Best of all, my barber gave me a great hair cut...as good a cut as I have had in years, and she did it with quick efficiency and ease. Left the shop feeling good about myself . After several drive-bys and fed up with not getting a cut I wanted from others, I gave Home Town a try. Best decision. Impressed by the fact that you are greeted when you walk in. Short wait of only 10-15 minutes i was called up by Bonnie, the owner. She asked me what I wanted and confirmed it twice which I really appreciated. She knows her clients and asked if this was my first time. She made me feel very welcome and the cut was exactly what I asked for. Warm lather neck shave and around the ears was a bonus. A little over 5 years ago, I stopped by this little gem for a haircut, as I was looking for a place close to home and not over the bridge. I entered and was floored by the cleanliness of the place and also the way I was greeted. I was greeted by both barbers who were on duty, Chris and Bonnie, the owner. I had a short wait (quality deserves a wait and a busy shop to me is a successful shop!) and was seated. I have a military Flat Top which is a difficult cut. I blurted out, "5'0 on sides, runway and tight". Bonnie knew exactly what I was talking about and went to town. When I thought she was done, she said, "NOPE, not yet!" and she proceeded to continue to shape my hair with the precision of the professional she is and that of a surgeon. When SHE was satisfied, I have to say, it was THE best flat top I ever got! I have been returning ever since. prices are great, shop is clean, TV on the shelf and comp Kureig coffee machine. Home Town supports active and retired military and civil Police and Firefighters with a generous discount. Her two sons were in the Military and she is very proud of that. We converse a lot about that while I am "in the chair" as my daughter is active Army and also a Captain to boot. Now the shop has Wi-Fi to help ease the wait that may occur now and then. However, usually less than a 20 minute wait. Cash only shop, with extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am a customer for life. Come on down and support this fine and local business.
