I stayed at this hotel for an extended period of time because it was the only extended-stay hotel in Cullman. However, I would never go back. I have stayed at a lot of Home2 Suites hotels. This is one of the worst. The rooms are poorly constructed. The hotel was not much over a year old when I stayed there, yet the floors were already settling (sloping) to such a degree that the bathroom door got stuck on the floor. Bathroom tiles were loose, and the grout was crumbling. Bits of it came out from between the tiles and got stuck to my feet whenever I used the toilet. There were large gaps all around the heat/AC units under the windows. On cold, windy days, strong drafts blew into the rooms (I stayed in a one bedroom suite), making it impossible to stay warm. These gaps did not appear to be the result of damage, but rather poor construction. The hotel hallways have powerful ventilation units in the ceilings. One of these was located right outside my room. According to hotel maintenance, these units blow outside air into the hotel. Unfortunately, people in the neighborhood like to start large outdoor fires, especially at night. They do this frequently. These fires create a lot of smoke, and the hotel ventilation system blows this smokey air into the hotel. The door to my suite was loose in its frame, and there was nothing I could do to prevent my living space from smelling like smoke all night. It was unpleasant and definitely unhealthy. Whenever I ran any of the water -- faucets, toilet, or shower -- and it was cool outside, a terrible, literally eye-watering stench rose up from the drains. I think the cause was poorly installed plumbing vents. I've never experienced anything like that at any other hotel, apartment, or house in which I've lived. I reported the problem to maintenance, but apparently nothing could be done about it. Speaking of maintenance, it's hotel practice for them to "clean" the parking lot every few days. By clean, I mean that they blow the dirt off the pavement and up into the air with a leaf blower. Then they hope it blows onto someone else's property, but in practice, a lot of it ends up on the parked vehicles of hotel guests. I made repeated requests to maintenance not to blow dirt on my car, but to little effect. Finally, most hotel staff are rude (for example, the general manager and the man who cooks breakfast) or indifferent (almost everyone else). Marichu, who worked the front desk, was very nice, as was the housekeeper who worked on my end of the 4th floor while I was there. Unfortunately, a couple good employees cannot make up for the problems at this establishment. read more

I am very disappointed in this location. I was not able to complete my stay so I called the evening before my scheduled arrival. The desk agent told me that my reservation was cancelled but charged me $142. This is ridiculous. If I am being charged then my reservation is not cancelled and I should have my room and receipt. When the manager called me back, she said she was unable to correct the situation. This is also antagonistic to Hilton's 100% satisfaction policy. This gives the manger authority to refund your stay, which she denied or declined. Just another note, the email I received said I'd you have questions dial 000-000-0000. Do not reply to the email as they would not answer. I have called Stefania at customer service. I'll let you know how that goes. read more

Overall this was good and clean and reliable for our 2 night stay. I would go back. The bed was comfortable and the studio was roomy and clean BUT the AC made a racket all night when turning on. The breakfast was pretty good, but my kids wondered why there was no butter for the waffles, and there was no cream cheese for bagels. There were other less usual toppings though. I thought the chicken tenders for breakfast hit the spot (could be combined with waffles). Coffee was perfect. I wish they would have some normal stuff like boiled eggs. read more

Just happened to come across this place as I'm making my way down the road, & very happy that I did! There are many places to eat close by before settling down into this BIG clean room. The hot breakfast was a nice surprise & great way to start the day of more driving. My fave was the egg & cheese omelets! Really friendly & helpful staff. I will def stay here again for future trips! read more

We are traveling with an RV and motorcycles on a trailer. We walked in and requested (Barbara) at the front desk that we wanted a 1st floor room that looked over the parking lot -to keep an eye on our bikes (we are traveling and we dont know the area or safety of the lot) she said she had 1 room on the 1st floor - I asked if it overlooked parking lot and she said she didnt know - it was an odd room number. So I had to interrupt my check in process and walk down the hallway to go look to see which rooms over looked the parking lot. After seeing resort layout I now had to go back to front desk wait for my place in line and start the check in process over again. When my turn in line came up - I asked if she had a 1st floor even room - answer was NO. I asked if she had a room on a higher floor overlooking the parking lot. At this point - I must have asked too many questions - she told me that SHE HAD THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE . I was quite surprised - I told her that I was surprised a Hilton resort would require a guest to go verify room location - I again explained that I wanted a room that overlooked the parking lot..(this isnt a scenic resort by the ocean - a parking lot view did not seem like an unreasonable request to me) she handed me my ID and again stated that SHE HAD THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE. She stated her name was Barbara and gave me the managers name as I was walking away. This would have been the 5th time we would have stayed at a Home2 in 2025. We drive to Florida - and usually stop for 1 night along the way. We were happy we found this new chain until today. We travel with our dog - so luckily there was a LaQuinta a few blocks away. Come On Hilton - Your front desk in Cullman Alabama needs training......The manager responded on another review that the situation must have escalated but that is not true - I was so shocked when my drivers license was handed back to me - I laughed and walked away. BTW - I am the owner of a vacation rental company - so I know a teeny tiny bit about hospitality. Enough to know that my request was a reasonable request. read more

Stayed here 6/11/24, woke up the next morning & while checking out bed, we found foundation on the bottom side of one pillow& mascara on the bottom side of the other pillow. Plus small stain on the blanket. Took pics & showed staff. Manager claimed they would check the room & call us back. Note: we stay on Hiltons & Marriott all the time always check everything upon entering the room. We failed to do so this time because we spent the entire day in 90 degree heat at the water park. So we accept our mistake of not following our usual protocol. My niece called the hotel back after we checked out to see if they found the problem that we reported. The person that answered the phone was Very nasty to her, claimed we were those type of people that destroyed hotel rooms & wanted refunds. We Never asked for a refund. We accepted our mistake of not checking the room before crawling into the bed passing out from exhaustion. I take it because we are black people, oh I'm Hilton honors as well, that reported an issue Afterwards, instead before, we are less than & liars. The person that spoke to my niece, called us liars & Said you're not getting a refund. We never asked for one. Her behavior, nasty comments & openness of calling us liars, speaks volumes about the home2suites in Cullman Alabama. Dark skinned people, please be forewarned & be diligent if you use this hotel. Please take pictures when you enter the hotel, the room & when you leave. They could have easily rewound the video & saw no makeup on any of us but instead they treated us like complete trash. Also I worked as a night auditor for Hilton, over 20 years ago. Hilton never allowed any employees to treat clients this way, boy have things changed. read more

I would NEVER and I mean NEVER stay at this hotel ever again. The staff don't get me wrong was nice but the manager is rude and racist!! Before we left we simply made complaints on our room and how our pillows had stains on them that we didn't notice when we first came. We had a long day at the water park and simply wanted to rest and at first glance everything looked fine. But in the morning after we woke up and realized how the pillows were after we flipped them over. When making the complaint I should've known the manager was going to pull something because the first thing she said after seeing the picture was "oh that's not like us" she pulls the housekeeper and shows her the picture and the housekeeper says "no no no" as if we were a bunch of liars!! She specifically told me that she would go up and take a look and that me and my family could either stay and wait or we could leave and she would give us a call. After me making my complaint the manager called me with a whole different energy very rude stating how she never said she would give us a call when she did!! Then basically in a nutshell she called me and my family liars and insinuated that maybe we were the ones who left the stains. Then in the middle of the call she states "just to let you know you will not be compensated for your stay" as if we were black people who were complaining for money back I found that racist. We said it when we made the complaint that we were not looking for anything we just wanted other people to have a better experience. She also stated how she took "photos" of things she noticed that probably her and her staff planted in there. read more
