I was in town for the Irreverent Warriors event and this hotel was like 10 minutes from the location so I was super excited. Check in was at 4pm but to my surprise, I got a notification that my room was ready at 1pm. Awesome! When the event was over, went to the hotel, I have the app, with the digital key, so I went straight to my room. After repeatedly trying to open my door, I couldn't get in. What's the point of having the app if I have to go back down to get the card keys. Went down waited in line to get the key. Finally got back to my room, it was nice a clean and perfect. I did think it was odd the shower had shampoo and body wash, no conditioner (for those who need it). Slept like a baby. Breakfast was kind of basic. I only stay at Hilton chain hotel, so I am used to what the breakfast consisted of. This location didn't have hot bacon or sausage, no dice fruit, no diced potatoes or hash browns, I don't remember bagels, no cranberry juice and the warmer that they used really didn't keep the prepared food too warm and there was an issue with the container that has the waffle mix in it.

A solid five stars for this hotel. I like Home2Suites because they offer large rooms and most of all they have a full size refrigerator and microwave. Plenty of rooms to spread out if you are doing an extended stay. But this particular Home2Suites I stayed at in Jacksonville has something that many hotels do not have. They have Kimmie who was on the front desk to help customers out. On a recent work event myself and some of my coworkers were flown off a ship back to Camp Lejune early. Many of us already had reservations at this Home2Suites but since it was about two days early when we came back. Despite many people arriving at the hotel Kimmie was able to find rooms for us and moved our reservations to this current day without any penalties as the Hilton site would not let me make changes due to how close it was to checking in. It was also an issue that I went through my company's site but it was all taken care of. That is customer service and what you do not find in many places these days. It is greatly appreciated as many of us were tired after working many hours on the ship and the feeling to sleep in a normal bed after a long helicopter ride you cannot put a price on. Also this hotel was very accommodating in letting us use one of their conference rooms for a brief. Many thanks.

Even the eating area needed some tiding up. The did finally fix the curtains during the week.

Let me start by telling you this place was FILTHY. I am writing to you regarding the lack of the cleanliness standards in which we have encountered in our current stay at the Jacksonville, North Carolina Home2Suites hotel. I booked my reservation through Priceline as we have stayed at many Hilton properties in the past and were pleased.  The Jacksonville Home2Suites was ranked 9 out of 10 so I thought that it would be a nice hotel to book. I booked 3 rooms for 7 nights for myself and my family. Little did I know that our first trip in 20 months would be a DISAPPOINTMENT. Upon getting ready for bed, my brother called to inform me that the mattress in the sofa bed was filthy as it had blood, urine stains, mold and smelled. My brother called to the front desk to report the issue and was told that they did not have a replacement as the hotel was booked.  I decided to look at my mattress in the sofa bed to determine if it was clean.  I called the front desk to request that they take the sofa bed mattress from my room to my brother's room.  Unfortunately, I was told that it could not be done, as the mattress was affixed to the sofa.  I disagreed and explained that I had lifted the mattress and could they please replace the mattress in my brother's room.  The attendant retrieved the mattress but asked if I wanted the mattress from my brother's room to be put into the sofa bed in my room.  I said NO! It was then that I noticed the dust and crumbs that were underneath the mattress from the sofa bed in my room There were many spills / soil on the carpet.  These are carpet squares that can be replaced or cleaned.  Why leave such nasty spill stains??? There was also a condom wrapper that was left behind. A dog toy was also found, we did not bring our dog! Whilst on the phone with Hilton the sun was clearly exposing the dust on and around the television. The bedding for the sofa bed was in a drawer, it looks like it was previously used. The desk chair was soiled. It could have been cleaned! For your reference, the following morning, I spoke to the Guest Manager (Paula) and was told that our (3) rooms would receive a deep cleaning.  She asked how long we would be away and I replied that we were going to church and then visiting relatives. We were gone from 10:15AM to 7:00PM. Upon our return we found that the rooms were not deep cleaned as the pet toy and condom wrapper was still in the same place in the room as before we left. I once again called Hilton to explain that we are still experiencing the lack of cleanliness and am concerned as Hilton is broadcasting a Clean Stay Program but are not standing behind their marketing campaign and have little regard for cleanliness or the concerns of their Guests. I went down and spoke to the desk person (Ally) to explain my disappointment and disgust as nothing promised occurred and asked if she could come to our room to review our concerns.  I offered to wait until someone could cover her position, but she informed us that she was the only one on duty.  I felt sorry for her as so many things can happen with only one person working the hotel.  We went to the room and Ally took pictures of the issues and told us that the soiled mattress was defaced and thrown away.  Ally  informed me that she would make a report and that the General Manager, Tina, would be there tomorrow and that I should talk with her. The next morning I had the opportunity to talk to Tina and she stated that she had not read the incident report for our rooms.  I provided a run down on the condition of our rooms and that I was displeased with their service as our rooms were not "deep cleaned" as promised and the condom and pet toy was still in place after we reported it.  Needless to say...she was not surprised and stated "well you could have checked out".   Tina never provided any type of empathy, apology for the condition nor resolution for the ongoing condition of our rooms.  She only offered one night compensation for one room and she stated that there was only one room affected.  I informed her that there were actually 2 rooms affected as the filthy mattress was in my brother's room. She stated that is all that she is offering and it did not matter that it was not resolved. I booked 3 rooms and we are All affected. Our second to last days at the hotel our brother saw roaches in his room. They did offer to spray the room but again no apology or shock or surprise. So this was a common occurrence. This has been such a negative experience that could have been avoided. My Husband and I are Hilton Honors members and have never been treated in the manner that was displayed by Tina.  To recap, on my vacation I have spent 5 extended calls to Hilton, 5 unpleasant interactions with the Hotel Staff. We have been offered 10,000 Hilton points. Keep in mind it costs 30,000 points a night at our hotel. We were also offered one night stay free for one room. We had problems in ALL THREE ROOMS.

This has been my 4th hotel stay during COVID and the most disappointing. I recognize that this isn't the Ritz and I feel that in general my expectations are pretty reasonable, but I have to draw the line at basic necessities like heat when the night time low is 31 F. Experimentally, I determined that the temp difference between what my HVAC unit was reading and what you set it to has to be at least 2/3 degrees for it to turn on. I had it set to 77 (highest setting) and while the thermostat was reading 76, I assure you it was not. I was in sweat pants and a hoodie debating putting my jacket on. At 76 degrees I should be sweating. Anyway, eventually I got cold enough that I swallowed my pride and called the front desk to ask if I was just stupid and not turning it on correctly (I mean crazier things have happened). I was told, AND I QUOTE, that it's an energy efficient HVAC unit that "senses when there is no movement in the room and shuts off." I gotta say, it's not often that I am at a loss for words. I suppose by that logic, we're supposed to just freeze to death in our sleep? I'm glad I got a double bed room so that I could strip the THINNEST COMFORTER EVER from the second bed for my own. Also I should note that my colleague who was staying on the opposite end of the hotel complained several times that it would take ages for his water to warm up. Luckily I didn't have that issue. The rooms seem to be up to date but then you look at the furniture and it's just old and beat up...the window didn't even have a curtain, just a blind. Another bonus- inaccurate floor plans on the app. Want to know what's across from room 303? Hint: It's not room 302+ staircase. It's House Keeping HQ. Want to know what they do in there all day?! LOUDLY STACK DISHES. And I'm sorry, when I say day, I really mean night. Because apparently there's a night shift that is in there killing it until at least 8 o'clock on a Monday. The biggest shock was that none of the staff were particularly friendly. I kept waiting for that Southern hospitality but only really got it at the restaurants we got take out from or the cashier lady at Target. In fact, I was treated like some hobo peasant when I went to the front desk to ask for my comp water bottles....there were far too many steps/back and forth to establish my HH status w the concierge. It should not have been that hard. And I should not have been made to feel like a second class guest. Pretty sure that water bottle doesn't come out of your paycheck. The cherry on top though was running out of toilet paper on my last morning while (you guessed it) doing a #2. No spare roll in sight. I should note that although I had a subpar experience, I don't think this is a particularly terrible hotel for the area considering that the Friday before I checked in my colleague told me that the Hamptons Inn he was staying at down the strip had lost power. For hours.

A little kitchenette that's probably not going to get used but we're glad it's here anyway.

This was my first (But not last) stay at a Home2 Suites. The room was large and VERY clean. There was all the accouterments that one could ask for in a room. We didn't really need any of them - except for maybe the refrigerator but it's good to know for the future. We were on a long road trip and were dining in the local restaurants as we went along. The breakfast selection was pretty good. Definitely not like a buffet type, but a lot more than the regular one with cereal, toast bagels and fruit. I had a couple of the hot breakfast sandwiches and some coffee and was good to go. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rates were VERY reasonable. Parking was ample. Several Restaurants nearby (within walking distance). I would skip Logan's Roadhouse. That was quite a letdown after looking at their website and then seeing the truth. We ended up walking to Chili's - where it was really great. We will definitely look for Home2 Suites next time.

I have never been to a Home 2 Suites by Hilton and was very excited to try this brand. The hotel is located on the main street in Jacksonville called Marine Blvd and there are so many stores and restaurants nearby. The design of the Home 2 Suites is very fresh, clean and modern. I can see how this chain is great for longer-term stays and you can use the kitchen area to prepare your own meals and then have real utensils and plates and a dishwasher all in one location. The lobby is really bright with lime green colors, hardwood floors and all kinds of little seating area nooks. The breakfast communal table is also in the lobby and it works well with the breakfast set up. The check-in was easy and the front desk staff were very hospitable. The rooms are like little studio apartments with a kitchenette, pull-out sofa, and modern furniture. I loved the lamps and shelving and it just has a fresh feel compared to the traditional hotels with heavy drawers and standard layout. The bed and linens were some of the softest I have ever slept on and I love the pillows so much that I want to order one for my home. There are recycling bins and you can tell it is an environmentally friendly chain. The bathroom has the Neutrogena pumps in the shower instead of the mini bottles that waste plastic. The breakfast was also really good with a Belgian waffle maker, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereals and then these panini like sandwiches that you make in the microwave. The directions are really simple and things are nicely marked. The staff was super-friendly, the hotel was clean and really exceeded my expectations. I will be back and this hotel is in an optimal location to make a beach trip to the beach.

We had never stayed at a Hilton Home2 Suite before there's not any in our local area. We were so pleasantly surprised. The lobby which looks very homey and feels comfortable. It welcome us in. They were some of the happiest hotel staff I've ever met and they bent over backwards trying to please the customer. Kudo's! One of the staff members actually came from Bartonville Illinois which tickled us both because I come from Peoria so what was the odds in that. The lobby is a little eclectic with some modern pieces of furniture and some that I probably would find in one of my older relatives houses but it worked. There's a huge built in bookshelf/ mantle with various pieces of artwork on them which really looks nice. There many small tables throughout that you can sit down and just talk or you can use the computer center. Outside we saw three at least three areas that you can sit and just relax. We met a few little lizard friends while we were outside. At night they have a fire pit which is flanked by these huge high back rattan love seats which I thought was added a nice little touch. There also was a nice pool but it was too cold for me to swim in. Our room was nice and comfortable it even had a sofa in it. I kind of thought the couch look like something my grandma would have but it was still comfortable anyway. The bathroom was a nice size and the bed was king size and comfortable to sleep in. And one thing I really loved about the room it had a blackout shade which was made on the inside the window, so when you pulled it all way down no light got in.This was great when you're very tired after traveling and want to sleep late. The price of the hotel was very reasonable considering it was a quote on quote studio suite but it had a lot of room in it. It even had a dishwasher. How many places have a dishwasher in their rooms.with It had a microwave, a nice size refrigerator. The room also had plates and glasses and forks and spoons and other necessities you may need if you're having to stay a longer time. The hotel also had a small continental breakfast. I really liked this hotel and definitely will go back again. It is so close to most shopping and tons of eating places. Stayed: June 2017

Very clean hotel with friendly staff.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. A hand written thank you note with free snacks was waiting in my room for me. I will definitely enjoy my stay here. There is a nice indoor pool and a surprisingly large work out room. Plus, it's close to tons of stuff to do!

I don't know why people are raving about this place and give it 5 starts, the place is mediocre at best. At $104 a night one would expect certain basics which wouldn't qualify a hotel for 5 stars rating. I'm checked in in this place since Saturday 17th. of June, and gonna checkout July 1st. The only good thing about this place is the staff they're super friendly for instance the young man who mans the fron desk allowed me to check in 3 hours earlier than normal checkin time which was a great thing since I too the red eye from the west coast and was extremely tired. The Cons: 1- their free internetis a joke even the one they provide the HH members with, my 4G and my personal hotspot on my phone are a lot faster than their internet, in addition the connection to the wifi kept dropping for no apparent reason. The room service is a joke many of basic supplies are not provided the don't provide lotion (had to ask for it), one bar of soap in a week. I asked for a hot plate, really isles thing the one I have at home is a lot better, this one doesn't maintain temperature, gets hot really fast even at the lowest temperature then disconnects itself and takes forever to work again, which is no good for someone who's staying their for an extended period of time and wanna cook a basic meal. According to their housekeeping sheet the'rs suppose to do S thorough cleaning every Friday, they didn't change my sheets pr pillow cases. I had the writing pad and the pen provided when I checked in on the night stand on the 4th. Day of my stay they were gone, they took em back. The hotel is located behind lowes facing their lumber yard and the years supplies storage area, so that's your view. Their shower stalls are really small, no pressure whatsoever in the shower head. Walls are paper thin, you hear everything in the rooms next to you even when people talk in a normal voice. Sofa cushions and arm rest have visible dry blood stains on em, I know that it's blood due to the splatter pattern, it's not juice, it's not coffee and it's not hot chocolate as they don't have the same splatter pattern due to different viscosity. As for the breakfast bar it would've been excellent had they never let supplies run out without restocking until the following Sunday which is the day I'm writing this review, so I've been staying in the hotel for 8 days. As for the gym, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen, it's extremely small, if you have three adults working out there that's it. The machines are not professional grade, they're cheesy ass cheap ones (star track brand). Which takes us to the dangerous part the 2 treadmills are in serious need of replacement not maintenance. One of them (the one to the right) can only do quick start that's it it you can't personalize your workout, the rubbing coating of the belt is completely dry rotted and frayed on one side (the right). The second machine to the left, the belt skips which is an extremely dangerous thing that might cause someone's knees to snap and here's your lawsuit, not on;y that but if you onclease the inclination to add resistance to your workout, once the machine reaches maximum inclination it locks and ceases and there's nothing you can do about it. Neither of the machines have a weight sensor so if there's no one on the machine it will keep running for ever. In a nutshell, the place is not suitable for the extended stayers, it might be suitable for the passers through one nighters, whose they get a lot of.

Extremely Pet Friendly with puppy treats for furry friends. A+ 100 rating on cleanliness. Most comfortable beds, sheets, and pillows. Towels are fresh and super soft. Indoor salt water pool is always clear and heated. The early morning breakfast is not quite a five( not many choices for picky kids) good to go for parents. Highly recommend. Steep nightly rate but you get what you pay for. Good fast Wifi.

On the positive side, the hotel has great amenities: a large fitness room with a variety of equipment, a nice pool area for warmer weather, EV chargers, and guest laundry. The Wi-Fi and cable were fine, and the service at the Bistro for breakfast was very friendly and helpful. However, my room was disappointing for a renovated hotel. There was paint on the door handle, a missing section in a wall corner, and surprising mold in the bathroom. I was also unsure whether the towels above the toilet were fresh or had been left by a previous guest. Who puts towels above a toilet anyway? Most frustratingly, the curtain track was broken and wouldn't close completely, letting the light in all night, so I didn't sleep well. Even the refrigerator was an issue, as it froze the salad I brought back for breakfast. Once it sat out, it was okay, though, and maybe it actually kept it fresher, but it was still unexpected. While the amenities and Bistro staff were great, the lack of attention to detail in the room's maintenance and housekeeping was a letdown.
