Came here last Saturday for our annual corvette club picnic. Place is beautiful and very serene. We had a catered lunch and ate outside on the patio. It was a perfect day! Food was really good too. Our family party of 14 came to dine here together and we were sat at two separate tables within an empty area of the restaurant (that remained empty during our entire meal). Susan, the manager, stubbornly dismissed our couple requests to sit together as a family. Throughout the meal I noticed Susan helicoptering her excellent staff who were doing a great job. I just got married here over Memorial Day weekend. They did a pretty good job. My coordinator was good but I would recommend you still purchase a day of coordinator. The river landing staff won't take care of you the way a paid day of coordinator will. They were on top of everything though. There are several places to get married here and you can definitely make it affordable. We had an awesome wedding and they def did play a big part in that. The one thing that was nice and not so nice was the room above the great ball room. It was a nice room but it's owned through the holiday inn so there is no where to get ice or number to call of you need anything. It was very convenient and a nice but kinda small room. We love it here in RL. It is our home. Once you go through the gate it shows its magic. The most beautiful place to live. And the people are wonderful here. My wife and I built a home here 5 years ago. We could not be more pleased with this fine community, We previously lived in Landfall in Wilmington. This is a great close community with great neighbors and a wonderful support staff keeping the landscape and golf course beautiful year round. Good food and great people. The food is always fresh but it is crowded as hell so you better call ahead.

On arrival I was placed on the 3rd floor where my room smelled of mold and mildew. I immediately asked for a room change. They kindly moved me in another room on the 3rd floor. This room smelled like a cat urinated. At this point I went back downstairs and asked for someone at the front desk to come upstairs to smell our problem. They complained about how they both are recovering from a cold and one of their noses were stuffy. Eventually she came upstairs and noticed a slight smell. I asked her if I could move again. She claimed there were no more rooms available. I asked about the previous room. I would rather smell mildew than cat pee. She said the room is no longer available. After staying in the room for 2 days I had trouble breathing. I asked if my room could be moved again. This time there was a different person at the front. She was able to accommodate us after expressing our concerns. In addition, she stated that she would note our issues to her supervisor. She moved us to the 2nd floor. This room was 100% better. There we stay 2 more nights. Now it's time to check out and I asked the front desk lady did she speak to her supervisor and can we get some money back for the two uncomfortable nights. She told me that her supervisor was not in because she's at the hospital because her daughter is having a baby. She told me that I could call her and she's not sure when she would return. I then said but I spoke to you two days ago about my issues shouldn't you have already had a conversation and noted the account of a discount for my troubles? She directed me again to speak to her supervisor. This establishment is very nice online but their rooms on the 3rd floor are not safe. They smell really awful. If you have respiratory issues don't book rooms on that floor. I was definitely not happy about my room. read more

Beautiful facility and 2 of the finest golf courses in the Carolinas. I run a golf tournament every year at River Landing and the staff does an excellent job supporting us. I attend golf tournaments and charity events all around the Wilmington area. There isn't another facility or golf course in the area that compares to River Landing. read more

My brother had his wedding at this venue and though it was a beautiful location, they couldn't have screwed up the wedding more! I've never been to a wedding where so much went wrong. First off, the 'wedding coordinator' that they provided to my brother and sister-in-law was never around and we never actually saw her. She kept sending random employees like caterers, to attend to problems that arose. The ceremony was to be held in the outdoor, covered patio area with a fireplace and the day unfortunately turned out to be cold, windy and rainy. We didn't let that get us down, but the River Landing staff did NOTHING to help us out. They didn't have a space heaters (?!!) or an indoor option for inclement weather. The day of the wedding, someone informed us that they could not set up the chairs to form an aisle, they were just going to put the dinner tables up and I guess somehow the bride was suppose to zig-zag through the tables to get to the officiant??!! We offered to move them ourselves and they told us, "No!" Well, then my step-dad gave them a piece of his mind and they finally agreed. My sister in law also had a reservation that was confirmed by the coordinator for 9am at the restuarant in the country club for brunch, but when we showed up it wasn't even open and some man informed us that they don't open until 11 and they were booked because of Mother's Day. Well, thanks! Jerks! They didn't even do anything to fix the problem. Like maybe offering to send coffee and pastries up to the suite they were staying in? Just to make something clear, in Wallace there really isn't much and I believe that the only real reason for tourism there is to have a wedding. It seems as if Holiday Inn, The Mad Boar and River Landing are all in cahoots to do wedding events. This is all fine and dandy, but if this is their only business, how can they screw it up so bad!!! Don't be fooled by the lovely scenery and the beautiful property. River Landing does not know what they are doing and do you really want to spend all that money on your wedding and have it pretty much ruined?? read more

River Landing has two courses that both seem well maintained with interesting designs that feature water and sand with some elevation features. The club house is excellent. It's a fairly small menu, but typical of a finer restaurant--meaning there aren't pages and pages of pub food. There are great apps and sandwiches. The staff is great. We are getting married at River Landing in July of this year and could not be more excited!! Every staff member we have come in contact with has been so incredibly helpful. We are getting married on the Clubhouse Lawn next to the water and having our reception in the Grand Ballroom. The Grand Ballroom has the most gorgeous chandeliers and amazing floor to ceiling windows. I know our wedding will be nothing but elegant. The accommodations are wonderful as well!! They have a Holiday Inn Express on their property where you can create your wedding block, as well as multiple suites on the third floor of the ballroom with amazing golf course views!! Not to mention the cute Clubhouse Cottages right next door to the Clubhouse. With most of our guests coming from out of state, we know having these accommodations will come in handy. Not only does the River Landing staff guide you and answer any and all wedding questions you may have, they are determined to help you have the best and most special wedding day. Premium golfing experience here in Eastern NC. Beautiful layout. Friendly staff. My only complaint would be that there needs to be access to more refreshments while on the course. Other than that, River Landing is the best golfing in NC. Highly recommended. read more
