Sofas are comfy, but there is no restaurant or bar aside from a breakfast area. Rooms are OK. I chose a room with a king sized bed. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows are puny and there aren't enough of them. There is NO REFRIGERATOR or MICROWAVE. TV is decent. The desk is falling apart, as are the lamps. Curtains are halfway torn down. Several members from our conference are staying here - meaning - we're on the same schedule. That means, we're all taking showers at roughly the same times. The hot water cannot keep up. Half of the showers I've taken have been cold. Overall, this is an old hotel that is in need of renovation and refurbishment. I heard a lady complaining to the front desk and the attendant said they weren't fixing things due to a coming renovation. Parking is valet for $30/day or in a lot across the street for $10/day. If you can find street parking, it is free from 1700 to 0800. Food options are OK. Italian, Mexican, seafood, and pizza are within a block of the hotel. A bar near the hotel can be heard most nights (music). The staff are generally very nice. They are the reason this isn't one star. 2.5 stars

I literally had to beg the staff just to receive the basic level of customer service needed to run a hotel. Tia G., in particular, was yawning, eye‑rolling, and sighing while interacting with me. It felt disrespectful, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. My room was never vacuumed, there were no toilet paper refills, and no kitchen detergent refills during my stay. I also called about extremely loud guests upstairs who were heavy on their feet, and management did nothing to address it. The laundry washer machines were broken, so I had to hand‑wash my clothes just to make sure I had something clean to wear for the next week. The gym was dirty, had broken equipment, and smelled strongly of mold and wet materials, making it completely unusable. Although the outside of the property looks newly renovated and elegant, the inside and the customer service are the complete opposite of its outside appearance. I was here for government training, and even after telling staff that, they still did not care. The "southern hospitality" that Alabama is known for did not exist here. For your peace of mind, go elsewhere. This property needs serious improvement in customer service, cleanliness, maintenance, and basic hospitality.

It was the most luxurious of the three hotels in the program. Photos shown include our room 317. The room included two queen beds, a reasonably large desk, a door to an adjoining room, two religious literature (a Gideons' Holy Bible, and The Book of Mormon) in the nightstand, ample closet space, and "high-tech" light switches that required some head-scratching to use them. The bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower stall. I used the latter. The bed pillows were fluffier than those of Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead, so I needed just one to sleep on. I had to contact front desk and maintenance staff for a "Do Not Disturb" sign as the room did not have one. Sadly, it did not prevent room service from entering the room the next day to make the beds and re-fluff the pillows. My sleep was not impacted but my impression of the overall service was. On the first night, our group went to a private room for dinner. We walked from one end (where our rooms were) to the other end of the hotel. Food was catered in-house as evidence by the serving staff in their hotel uniforms. On both mornings, we had breakfast at The House. It was buffet style with plenty of choices and plentiful in volume. Since we had coupons, we didn't have to pay a cent. However, I didn't give my coupon to the waiters both times and still ate for free. But I sat with my fellow group members so it wasn't an issue. For second day's dinner, I ordered mozzarella sticks to go from The House. It was pricier than I would like, but it kept me fed. There was only one laundry room and it was located on the second floor. It was free of charge but access to the room required the room key. I did my laundry on the morning of the second day. Did not have any issues with the washer or the dryer. It was nice of the hotel to provide a small lounging area just outside the laundry room where I waited until my laundry's done. The laundry room had two microwaves. Don't ask me why they were there. I'd have put them where the vending machines and the ice machines are. I did not try the spa. There wasn't sufficient time and the high price tag was enough reason not to. Nor did I patronize the performing arts venue adjoining the hotel. But there were plenty of lounging areas throughout the first and second floors. The one that I used for a private Zoom meeting was on the second floor, and had plenty of distance away from foot traffic for a reasonable expectation of privacy. If it was entirely up to me, I would not choose the Renaissance. It's out of my price range and I can easily find less expensive choices nearby. However, the stay was mostly pleasant especially when covered by the tour program. If you're willing to pay the price, it's worth it.

During my stay, I experienced a family emergency that required me to move to a larger room and find accommodations for my 1 1/2-year-old granddaughter. Although the hotel doesn't normally provide baby cribs, Ronesha and Shawana worked together to make everything happen. Their compassion, resourcefulness, and genuine concern for my family's well-being were truly remarkable. When I first checked in, my room had a strong smoke odor. Ronesha immediately apologized, found me another room, personally verified the issue, and even helped me move my belongings. Throughout my stay, both she and Shawana regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well and to see if I needed anything else. Outstanding customer service has become increasingly rare, which makes experiences like this even more meaningful. Ronesha and Shawana went far beyond their job responsibilities and turned a stressful situation into a wonderful experience. Their professionalism, kindness, and commitment to serving their guests are a true reflection of Hilton's values. Thank you both for making such a lasting impression. Unacceptable Treatment at Embassy Suites Montgomery that was…read moreabsolutely unbelievable and upsetting. We had four adults and two babies with us. We went downstairs and had a wonderful breakfast together as a family. After breakfast, our grandson desperately needed a diaper change, so we headed back to our room. When we got to the door, the latch had kicked back and the door had locked from the inside. We immediately went to the front desk, politely explained what had happened, and waited for maintenance to come help us. When the maintenance employee arrived, we were completely cooperative and friendly. He attempted several times to get the door open and even rammed the door with his shoulder. He then asked my husband to kick the door to help get the latch loose. This is one of the biggest points that makes the story we were later told so absurd. Why would my husband wait for maintenance to arrive, wait while he attempted multiple times to open the door, and then only kick the door after the maintenance employee specifically instructed him to do so? If my husband had intended to damage the door, why would he have waited all that time for maintenance to arrive and then ask the employee if he was sure before doing exactly what he was told? My husband kicked it once. The employee then asked him to kick it a second time. My husband actually hesitated and asked, "Are you sure?" because he didn't want to damage the door. The employee insisted that it would help release the latch, so my husband did exactly what he was instructed to do. The door broke. The maintenance employee immediately told us, "It's okay, I'll take care of it." He came inside, swept up the debris, and everything seemed to be fine. We were preparing to check out and continue our trip when suddenly there was a knock at the door and three people came in on us. We were given 10 minutes to leave, and my husband was accused of intentionally kicking and damaging the door. The maintenance employee repeatedly lied from what actually happened. He had specifically instructed my husband to kick the door, yet suddenly we were being treated as though my husband had intentionally destroyed hotel property. And then, as if the situation couldn't get worse, they tried to charge us $950 for the damaged door. This is absolutely absurd. We did not intentionally damage anything. We followed the instructions of their own employee, who was standing there and directing my husband to kick the door because he believed that was what was necessary to get the latch loose. We even requested the surveillance footage so the situation could be verified. We were told that they did not have any surveillance footage. That was extremely concerning to us, given the conflicting accounts. Then the police were called to remove us. Imagine being treated this way while you have a toddler and a baby with you. Imagine having your entire family standing there while people stare you down and demand that you leave within minutes. It was humiliating, frightening. What made this even more disturbing is that we genuinely feel that race played a role in how our family was treated. Our grandchildren should never have had to witness or hear something like this. We have already spoken with multiple people within the corporation, and we are moving forward with this matter because we believe what happened to our family was completely unacceptable and deserves to be addressed. This isn't simply about a broken hotel door. It is about being falsely accused, being treated as though we intentionally caused damage when we followed an employee's instructions, and having our entire family including a baby and toddler treated this way. We expected basic courtesy, professionalism, and fairness. Instead, we left feeling violated, humiliated, and discriminated against. I strongly encourage management and corporate leadership to thoroughly investigate what happened, including the maintenance employee's statements, the circumstances surrounding the decision to remove our family and , the attempted $950 charge.

He stood beside my door and said, "Hey mama you wanna give me some money?" and then stood there so close that I couldn't even open my door. We found out there is a homeless camp next door, and it seems that approaching the hotel guests to ask for money is a regular occurrence. This hotel has been renovated and our queen room was very nice. It was small, but clean and the shower was clean. I wouldn't really recommend staying in this hotel due to panhandling in the parking lot. Hotel guests shouldn't have to dodge people asking for money just to get from their cars to the hotel entrance.

After asking for late checkout due to the delay, I was initially denied and only given an extra hour after a frustrating conversation. Housekeeping even entered the room early, claiming they didn't know it was occupied. Overall, this stay was unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone looking for good service and cleanliness.

Check in was smooth; desk clerk was polite. Room was dark and smaller than anticipated. HVAC wall control was black and inoperable. Adjustments were made by push buttons on wall/floor unit. HVAC fan was very noisy. Shower was fair - adequate - with very hot water but corroded/clogged shower head that squirted in various directions rather than straight out. No towel rack to dry towels overnight. So if you showered after a long trip and wanted to do so again in the morning before departure....call the desk (?). Nope will not book here again. PS Entire staff was polite and congenial and did a good job...but the building kinda let them down.
