So I came in for the first time to check out some STIHL products and the store. A buddy referred me and said this is the place to get STIHL products. So I came across Theo at the STIHL department and I want to genuinely thank him for his patience, knowledge and giving me his honest opinion based on my need. Definitely great customer service which is important to me; Never owned a Stihl but was taking in consideration his advice when comparison. I ended up buying the STIHL FS 91R Trimmer and super happy as how he showed me everything on the unit and even explained the warranty part, also bought the can that offers 2 additional yrs for the warranty, totaling 4yrs. Went into HomeBase today and found a beautiful bougainvillea for $21.00. It was large and just gorgeous. On the way to the cashier, a female employee stopped me and asked if the plant was hanging. I told her it was with the other ones but not hanging. She said that it was not for sale because it wasn't in the system yet. I showed her that it had a price label on it for $21 and she said that she couldn't sell it because it wasn't in the system which she had already stated. I loved this store. I was expecting a more commercial vibe but it felt more small town. It was great and they everything and then some. Have some projects that we're working on. They have wood and materials. We got garden supplies and farm animal feed. For every animal and farm animal. My favorite was the wall of preserves and and canned items. They had vanilla peaches. Which were plump halves of peaches with real vanilla beans. They had an extensive candy section. Definitely will be going back. read more

I had bought 5-4x8 pieces of lumber $25/ea. and when they loaded it they couldn't get tailgate back up ( I told them not to lower it) and then when I didn't have a tie down I was told to just drive slow..which I did until I saw a piece slid off in traffic and putting it back I noticed 3 others were already gone and I went immediately back where I was told tough luck.. now I was out $75 and they couldn't even take part of them blame? I'm reading some of the reviews on here in disbelief really. A lot of them from 3 years ago during the Covid times when the store had lines to the back of the building and not enough employees to handle the influx of sales at that particular time. You would think, during that crazy time period where there were lines to the back of the store and every register filled with a cashier and employees running around trying to help everyone you would think that customers would grant some grace ‍ apparently common sense is lacking. Lowes and Homedepot was experiencing a lot of the same issues as well during that time frame. As an active customer since their opening, I believe the customer service here is by far superior to the competition. Plus they have chicken and ducks so that's a plus! read more

I usually can find everything I need there and it beats driving to Killeen. So far for the last 3 years the only thing I found out that they do not sell is an extra long curtain rod. Disappointed but not a deal breaker I still go there - they are always going to be my first stop. read more

Zero stars for this place! My husband called a salesman on Sunday and asked if he had a particular zero turn lawn mower in stock. He eagerly said yes and said he would hold it for us. My husband went online after that and made sure he put it in his cart and put. Hold on it for pickup. We live 3 hours away!!!!!!! After driving said 3 hours on Monday, the very next day, my husband gets to the store and they only have a used one! No one cared that he just drove 3 hours for something that they indeed did not have. Terrible customer service and it seems that no one there really knows there stock! Also update your dang website! I have been going to Homebase since it opened up. Sometimes they have what I need. Sometimes they don't as other businesses are the same. It's a matter of convenience for me to go there. It's either Homebase in Cove or Home Depot or Lowes in Killeen. During the China virus mess I went to Homebase as they were operating in Normalcy. Home Depot was a long wait just to get in. Customer service is HORRIBLE. Every time I go in there the ladies at the check out are in bad moods. Today the lady at check out had to argue about everything. "How much are the water troughs outside?" "You mean the stock tanks?" "Do y'all have any wooden posts so we can make H braces for our fence?" "You mean landscaping posts?" Then she asked if we were military and I said "we are loyalty card members" she then replied "you mean loyalty account holders" At that point I just had to walk off. Someone peed in her cheerios this morning and sadly that made this store loose business for good. Everytime we go in there, the people working the front are far from friendly. Went to this establishment and couldn't get any assistance at all and when I did it was with a disrespectful nasty attitude and I called my Dad to come up here to help me but he refuses to go to the establishment and said he would let his Lodge know about the behavior at this Store. I'm not going to say it's about ethnicity even though other patrons received great customer service. Ijs. I really felt uncomfortable and truly disrespected. The employer was very rude. I've never been treated as such at Home Depot our ACE Hardware which is where I will take my business from here on out and recommend anyone else that receive that treatment to do the same. This place just has the worst overall customer service. These workers, for the most part, don't engage, avoid and even ignore. I was in plants and gardens this morning, I was waiting for a minute at the cash register. No big deal don't mind waiting. I saw the worker down the aisle, an older lady with glasses and a ponytail. I approached, waited till I was in her view and waited for her to respond. She did not. So I asked her is anyone checking out upfront. She continued to place down the object she was already holding. She then turned around and grabbed another object, placed it on the ground and without looking at me said I'll be up there in a minute. She makes her way to the front less than two minutes after I've already walked back up. She continues to stack the items she was currently stacking. She didn't say a word, not hello nor a thanks for waiting... just rang me up and asked was a military or first responder. I responded no. The exit door in this area was closed. It looks like a big garage door. She mumbled on the radio she's going to get ready to open this door and asked for permission from a manager I'm guessing. She came around to the door without saying anything, opened up the garage door and I walked out. Again... no thanks for waiting, thanks for coming... just opened the door and immediately shut it behind me. I don't know how Home Base prices are against the competition. Maybe they're the Popeyes of the home improvement stores. Great products, good price and the absolute worst service. read more

I watched as a customer asked a simple question about a item sold there and the customer service representative could not answer. As I was leaving and checking out I had left my ID that says I'm a veteran in my truck. I only bought $20 worth of stuff so the 10% discount would have Took $2 off. I know formality is important but I shop there several times and my apparel and stature screams veteran. She told me I could go back to the truck and get my ID but instead I just left everything on the counter. read more

Selection was better than I expected, but still lacking. Staff was mostly friendly, but management here clearly isn't enforcing their own mask policy. Had to leave without everything we came for because of customers not wearing masks, talking and breathing all over people like we're not in the middle of a world-wide pandemic that's already killed hundreds of thousands of people in this country. I think they have pretty good sales, but without sales I think Home Base is over priced. They have some good deals, but compared to Home Depot and Lowe's they're not as established nor carry a big selection for many things. Also- I would rather go to Home Depot or Lowe's for their customer service. I feel like the workers in Home Base are always hard to find and their check out lane customer service is nothing to brag about. read more

Just went and bought the dog treats that you can mix and match. The weigh scale is by the treats. My husband weighs it and tells me 1.4. When I go to check out the lady asks me the weight. I replied," it was almost a pound and 1/2. My husband said 1.4". She proceeds to ask a male coworker to go weigh them. I have never been so insulted at a local business as I have tonight. The customer service in this store is exceptional. Prices are much better than Ace Hardware. I have been in the store on a dozen occasions for different things and have not been disappointed. Order a bathroom 3 piece bathroom set. Paid extra to deliver. Took off work for delivery. Homebase sold the main piece to someone else. But didn't bother to call me them selves but sent the delivery guy out to tell us. Then kept me one hold twice for 20 minutes both times to have a manager say well we can give u a discount in another bathroom cabinet. We used to do all our home repair business there not again. I purchased a water heater for my house that I have just totally remodeled, new plumbing, electrical, Hvac, flooring etc. I do this for a living I might add! Anyhow I had my plumber install the new water heater that I had just purchased from Homebase, along with all the other fixtures. We checked to see if we had any leaks well come to find out the water heater was leaking at the top, so much so that it was going into the electrical connections. I told the plumber to pull it out and install one of his. Not wanting a repaired water heater in the new remodel! On one of my many trips to Homebase, I ask the assistant manager what to do , he told me to bring it back with the receipt and they would refund my money. So this morning i took it back with my receipt, expecting to get a refund. Little to my surprise they told me that I can't have a refund all I can do is exchange it, because they need the box. Not making any sense to me what the box had to do with a leaky water heater, a refund or anything. So by now I was really not happy, I tried to explain that I had talked to the assistant manager the week prior. All the kept talking about was the box and doing a exchange! I don't blame Homebase for selling a leaky water heater, that part is not there fault! But what really has me upset is there Customer service!!! I will say this, I have been going to this store since there opening and quite often. Doing what I do for a living it's easy to spend a lot of money in this store and I have spent a lot in this store! And for them to treat me in that way, I hate to see what they do to the average home owner wanting / needing to do various projects around there house!
