However I didn't hire him to be my friend, I hired him to inspect my house. Most of the inspection was great, but some things were completely wrong or missing. The report states that the venting above the gas stove was working properly but there is no vent at all there, and that has been an ongoing issue in my house. The report also states that the water dispenser in the fridge was working normally but there is not even a water line connected to the refrigerator. I had read really good reviews about this business, so I had hoped for the same. Unfortunately it was a sub par inspection.

Once all the power and heat was turned on, Jay went above and beyond going through all the parts of the house. The thing that really stood out though was that Jay was straightforward and honest in his assessment. I work on a lot of houses, so all the figures he gave for estimates were pretty much in line with what I would expect. Not too high, like he was selling me on a repair I didn't need. But also not underselling the cost of what needed to get done. To me, there's nothing more valuable then getting accurate information. Don't try and overinflate or udnerflate what costs will be. After having worked with Doug, I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a commercial or residential exterior inspections. Doug spent a significant amount of time, more than what we agreed upon, walking around the home and inspecting all the exteriors in detail. He used his super high ladder to reach some crazy high spots to get a closer view of some of the siding damage. He inspected some of the exteriors which were not even included in our contract, and gave me a detailed explanation of the damage and the current state of the exteriors. He explained some of the installation issues and short-cuts taken by the siding installer, and offered to directly talk to the guy if needed. Post inspection, he emailed a detailed report including all the pictures which clearly show the damage and remediation. Overall, Doug went above and beyond to provide a great service.
