Right when you set foot on their property, you are transported to a land where complete strangers will offer to help carry your heavy bag or to help you find your way. The way everyone helps and works together is quite amazing. There is parking in their lot and on the street. With the help of one of the Homeboy associate, they even helped me parallel park on the street. When entering Homeboy, it is bustling with excitement. There was beautiful artwork and you can also see them making bakery goods. If you can, volunteer and support this organization. The people who go to Homeboy, truly want to have a better life and will do the work to get there!

I sent them an email February 28 for tattoo removal & I been calling multiple times trying to get in hold of someone and No one answers, it just goes to voicemail and it hangs up because their voicemail is full. Then I called the main reception for help. This person said he would have someone call me back. No one has called me. I have a buddy that knows a female friend who went to homeboy industries to remove a tattoo of her ex boyfriend name.... It's messed up they helped this girl over a that tattoo and I have a lot of tattoos around my neck, head & face I need to remove. I believe homeboy industries don't care about helping people who really needs it. Don't waste your time with this place.

Visiting Homeboy Industries was a highlight of my trip while I was on vacation in LA!!! We started with morning meeting, which was so inspiring. Then on to a long and informational tour led by one of the homeboys. He shared his own story and many others and showed us all around and explained how the program works. Homeboy was created by Fr Greg Boyle who is a modern day hero. Check him out on YouTube or read his books! Then we headed over to Home Girl Cafe for a delicious breakfast and got a bunch of delicious baked goods to take home. Then on to the silkscreen store to get my current favorite comfy Homeboy Industries hoodie, long sleeve T-shirt and Fr Greg's latest book. Service was great. It feels good to spend money here because you know it's going to good use to help former gang members make a better life for themselves and their families. Love this place! Love the ministry! Oh and you can also order gift baskets from them too!

I unfortunately have been attempting to reach the tattoo removal line for weeks. I have not been able to get through no matter what time of day I call. I call at 8:30am, 8:45 am, all throughout the day. It's really sad because I may not be the only one who is reaching out and no one answers. That can be really devastating to most seeking help. I know this organization hires a lot of probationers and parolees who may be using their job there as a facade to cover up ill intentions. And unfortunately it may be those exact people who are negligent about answering the lines. Hopefully someone looks at this review and reads what I'm saying and follows up on this issue. They're missing too many opportunities to help those seeking help

I collaborated with Roxanne on a corporate cookie order and she was great to work with! My order was ready and waiting for pick-up on time, and the packaging was exactly as I had requested. In observing the café during lunch hour, I noticed that every employee seemed to take great pride in their work, and in Homeboy overall as an organization. It was really very heartwarming to see. What a phenomenal success story!

My husband and I have been fostering two bunnies from Bunny World Foundation (BWF) for about a year…read morenow. After losing our previous bunny unexpectedly, which totally wrecked us, we found immense comfort and support through this incredible community of rabbit lovers. Lejla, Jane, and the long-time volunteers are exceptionally knowledgeable about bunny care and wellness, and they truly care about every single animal. Bunnies are not "easy" pets, so having a whole community to lean on and ask questions around the clock makes the world of difference. Because of BWF, I've become a much better caretaker in providing a suitable environment, proper diet, and grooming. Fostering Popcorn and Zoe has been such a joy. It's unfortunate that people tend to overlook REWs (Ruby-Eyed Whites) because of their eyes, but Zoe is brilliant! She's a smart girl who has recently started zooming and binkying the second she hears the fridge open up until you set that nice plate of greens down. While she prefers her enclosure, if you step into her space, she'll happily demand pets and treats. Popcorn is a curious guy who explores the house every day as if it's his first time seeing it yet we can completely trust him not to chew on anything! He earned his name from the hilarious midair body shakes during his binkies, witnessing one will absolutely make your day. He is notorious for his afternoon nap flops as well. Zoe is definitely the dominant one, which means Popcorn grooms her every single day. We can always tell when Zoe tries to return the favor because she's... not great at it. Popcorn ends up looking like he just rolled out of bed! Both of them are incredibly well-behaved, used to being groomed, and will happily sit in your lap for hours during a grooming session. Hopefully Popcorn and Zoe can find their perfect forever home where they will have more space to binky and explore! If you are looking to adopt, foster, or support a rescue that truly knows and cares for rabbits, Bunny World Foundation is an amazing option.

Speaking of which, organizations that do…read morereally well in doing so much good for the community should receive more of the recognition and support they deserve! :) The nonprofit is the base that hosts volunteer activities initiated by different groups all over the city. It is the hub from which various other nonprofits voice and turn the wheels of their projects. Even a recent Yelp Beach Cleanup event, associated with Heal the Bay, required volunteers to sign up first with LA Works. For MLK's Day, LA Works planned a morning at Rosemont Elementary where hundreds of people, most of them a part of their employer company (ex. Target, Home Depot, JP Morgan, Accenture), showed up to help revitalize the campus. A radio station came prepared with dancing and music to jumpstart the day. Volunteers were assigned letters and numbers, then told to report to their assigned tasks. It was all very organized and efficient. They cleaned the computer labs, classrooms, storage room and rec room. Adults and kids alike transformed drab brown walls into a playground of rainbows and sunshine. Snacks, juice and water were available throughout the event. Following, food trucks showed up, some of which were either prepaid by the organization or declined to charge. You can become a volunteer by signing up for an account - and then going through their available search options for projects you would be interested in. I like looking through their calendar for a big picture of their activities. Some projects, like anything that has to do with animals, are hot and fill up faster than others. Clicking on the individual project listing will provide a detailed description and, more importantly, the geographical location/zip code. Trust me, the easier it is to get there, the more available and willing you are to enjoy the event, maybe even on a weekly basis.

It was easy to sign up for both events; the respective coordinators got back to me quickly, and I had a wonderful time. Many people say they wish they could set aside time to volunteer, and I'd just like to tell them that it doesn't take any effort just to ask how you can help, and the rewards are neverending. I look forward to helping out with future events. Thank you again!
