He stepped back out to his van to coordinate with Laura on pricing, and within minutes had clear, straightforward options with numbers for me on how we could approach the problems. The pricing was very reasonable, and they even offered bundling discounts, which made it an incredible value! (Especially for the level of professionalism and quality service they provide.) Aaron (the owner), had the problem diagnosed almost before he got into the washer. He replaced the hot and cold valves that were both leaking. The technician came out, claimed we needed to replace two different parts (one being the pressure regulator) that were roughly $1,000 each, gave us a quote for multiple options of replacing the entire unit ranging from $4K to 8k (for a tankless heater instead), and then left without restoring the hot water. The next day I had to pay a plumber from another company to come out, and he cleaned the components (the true cause of the pilot light not staying lit), restored the hot water in minutes, and DID NOT insist that I had to replace the pressure regulator first. Brown Heating is NOT family owned as some early reviews suggest and they will gouge you. A quick internet search revealed that the quote they gave me included a 250% mark-up on the price of a new unit (which did not include the price of installation... another $3,300). The office manager just shrugged and called this "set pricing." Bottom line: they left without resolving the problem and only offered me solutions that cost thousands of dollars. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
