Trust me... I'm saving you so much anger and frustration by saying stay away. I hired Lowe's Home…read moreImprovement in Sanford for a full kitchen remodel from the ceiling to the floor, doors, windows - everything. They subcontracted to Chuck and company. The preliminary meetings, I had 5-star confidence. Great discussions, great vision. The demolition came, and all was going great for two days. Then everything slowed to nearly a halt. Got stood up. Then one person would come and do a little bit and leave. The next day someone would come in the afternoon. This went on and on and on. I got promises over and over. Got apologies over and over. Got stood up more than they actually showed up. A 4-week job took way longer than ever expected. FIVE MONTHS later, the job is finally wrapping up. Now I will say that the entire 5 months' delay was not this company's fault - some items had to be reordered since they were damaged. But the way things are scheduled is idiotic and unprofessional. I paid in full (to Lowes) upfront. Had they scheduled me from start to completion (as complete as possible) for that 4-week window, we would have finished way before Christmas. They should have known how to shift puzzle pieces if they ran into a glitch. But if one piece of the puzzle was missing, they would just STOP and not do the other pieces. But what I really didn't understand is when my house was still torn apart, why his workers were at someone else's house doing THEIR job. MY house started first. Why the heck aren't the men here finishing up? At the final crunch, he sent as many men to my house to finish the job on the final day (the last broken-promised deadline). They did such a lousy job that I took pencil and started writing all over the door trim that it was crap and sent him a picture when I got home. They had to redo it (which is really stupid that they wouldn't do it right the first time). Because I work, my 89-year old father would drive down on a Sunday and stay the week so they could have access to the house. My dad sat in the house so many times waiting for someone to NOT show up. He wouldn't get something to eat because he was afraid that even though they said they'd be here in the morning, if he left to get a bite for lunch, he'd miss them. Over and over and over again. He was always available whenever this company was ready, but they continued to stand us up. They disrespected my father by lying repetitively about when someone would come (if they wound up coming). The final straw, however, was when they had the sheer gall to put the blame on my dad when their back was up against the wall with Lowes. Are you freakin kidding me? That man has bent over backwards to be here, continually available for the time it was supposed to take for you to finish the job, Chuck. There was only one week I told him not to come because I wanted you all to see what it was like to have your hands slapped. How dare you try to say your incompetence and inability to schedule your men was my father's fault. You have some talented people there. What you lack tremendously is the ability to manage your project properly. And the lies. The perpetual lies... I gave you a chance time and time again, but you continued to lie.
