One of my favorite home stores in Columbia. I love how consistently clean the store is. The staff is very helpful too. They always answer my questions and lend a hand when I need help bringing things to my car. They are constantly restocking items and bringing in the newest collections. The prices are great as well. I'm always comparing with other stores, and they offer the best value for the quality. I would definitely recommend this place. One downside is that since many items don't come in boxes, they're not ideal for gifts. read more

This is another in the T.J.Maxx and Marshall's enterprises. This one has a bit more of a self-service cafeteria style ambience. I found a wonderful outdoor table and chairs set that I did not see at the other T.J.Maxx stores. my wife bought a rug. it was large. she decided to have it delivered. the process was as dumb and complicated as a human being could have devised. this place sucks. they are asking dumb questions like - do we need a pick up truck - who knows- do we need another person to carry it - who knows. And then they gave us an estimated price. What does that mean. Estimated? Just give me a price. In a world of AI - where you can get any process automated to have something this dumb is pathetic. First let me start by saying ... I love it here. So anyway I Came in today (early Saturday)with my mom to look for a couch for my new apartment . As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a sales rep name Jason M. He was nice super nice . I eventually found a couch I wanted and Jason was like a superhero to the rescue. He assured my mom and I that the he could get the couch into our truck with ease ( yes I doubted him )...and that's what he did . The overall service just from this one interaction with Jason was everything to make me want to return. The store was clean and offered a huge variety of home goods . I've encountered the most nasty employee I've ever encountered!! Employee/Cashier TT Katrina was the upmost nastiest and disgusting person ever to work in a customer service industry. As I was checking out 10 mins before close, she did not greet nor acknowledge my shopping experience. As heading my items to her, instead of nicely grabbing my items, she snatched from my hands (clearly by reviews below this is not her first incident) kept giving me a nasty look , then she gave me my receipt like if she was about to throw it to my face. If I could leave 0 stars to this store, I WOULD! . I love shopping at Homesense due to their nice home decor and always encountered with pleasant employees. Until my recent visit... sometime last week, I had number of returns and cashier Katrina was super rude, she had an attitude and kept slamming on the items that's were being returned. And rudely snatched my receipt from my hands and proceeded to with an attitude. I asked why did she snatch the receipt from my hands and rolled her eyes! UNBELIEVABLE. I had never heard of Homesense before. I walked in with zero expectations and what I got was a cleaner, more organized version of Homegoods. The store is setup in a more logical way than most furniture decor places and the prices are clearly marked. They have a great selection of pendant lighting and everything is lit up and available for demo. This isn't a warehouse style shop like At Home but it does offer some pretty cool pieces. You can easily spend a whole day in here dream-designing your space. Based on inventory and selection this place gets a 5 star review but I'm knocking it down one because the aisles are narrow and this place gets packed on the weekends. You are essentially forced to ditch your cart if you want to get around quickly. I had my toddler with me so that wasn't an option but don't come here if you're in a hurry. read more

This is a cute home furniture store. Since it falls under the TJ Maxx brand, the layout is very similar - except, you'll find only home furnishings and decor. HomeSense also reminded me of HomeGoods, which another TJ Maxx brand. I liked the offerings, even picked up a wreath for my door. I'll be back! read more

Very big store similar to Homegoods but they have way more furniture and lighting, including overhead lighting. It is owned by Homegoods/TJMaxx company, so you kind of know what to expect walking into their stores... it is always different selections every time you go, it is seasonal, and it can be hit or miss. I was in the market for two accent chairs... they had a lot of options there but not that fit what I was looking for, I went frequently to see if they ever got more items in stock. Overall, I think the store is fun, they have a lot of good finds, but you have to be looking for something specific since it is very home product and furnishings oriented. I was happy to have found a mirror for my dresser there that is very similar to the ones from Crate and Barrel selling for $200+ but I got it here for $50! Very clean and bright, the lines are never long when I go, it is easy to get around, would recommend! read more

I have slowly morphed into a "let's go to HomeGoods for no reason" kinda gal. I have no idea how or when this happened, but I ain't mad at it. You can have some dinnerware! And you can have some dinnerware! Dinnerware for everyone!! I only recently discovered HomeSense (the better, older sister of HomeGoods) and safe to say I'm obsessed. This store is like my brain: random, tons of crap everywhere, but everything has a use at the end of the day. This location is right next door to TJ Maxx, so you'll probably end up going to both and actually finding some of the same items. The furniture and large pieces of home decor is what makes HomeSense unique though, compared to the other brands in their family. A hot tip: TJ Maxx will usually have the exact same item for cheaper :-) read more

Recently moved and have been in the market for cool house items and decor. As I was in Columbia this afternoon, I decided to stop by Homesense, and what a great idea that was! First, the place smells like HEAVEN, it hits you as soon as the sliding doors open. And it looks like heaven too, with rows and rows of furniture and home decor I want to buy. I spent entirely too much time wandering the aisles, mooning over all the things. Homesense made me want to throw out all my considerably nice furniture and buy all new pieces there. In the end, I only bought a basket I intend to turn into a planter, but now that I know what splendor awaits at this store, I'll be back to break my checking account. read more

Part of the Marshalls, TJ Max, Homegoods family, Homesense is like Homegoods on steroids. Almost everything Homegoods carries, Homesense carries more of it. Some of the stuff is useful and some of it is way out there. While I think a lot of it is super cool most of it is stuff I will probably not purchase. I don't usually write reviews for places like this but wow. They have an incredible lighting section! I was in search of two lamps for our family room. I checked out other stores nearby and was seriously disappointed in their selections. I came here on a whim expecting the same and was overjoyed when I walked in and saw a whole section of attractive options! What a hidden gem! I probably looked crazy walking around the section for 45 minutes trying to decide on my lamps but whatever. Lighting can be expensive so I'm glad I found this place! As for the rest of the store - I've been back a few times. They also have a decent selection of rugs and throw pillows. There's some junky stuff in the middle section but if you sift through everything there are some good finds. Lastly! If you want something make sure to get it when you see it as there's a good chance it will be gone in a week or two. The manager who helped me with my lamps said this is especially true for light fixtures so take note! read more

Homesense is basically a Home Goods with breathing room that is more curated. You'll see displays like a living room, bedroom, office setup versus items crammed into tiny aisles. (Tip: You can also return items from Homesense to Home Goods and vice versa.) Prices are still the reasonable prices you're used to at their sister stores. I like how they put foamcore sheets between wall art pieces. Nothing worse than finding art you like only to find it's ruined/broken. If you like ZGallerie and Arhaus style, you will love this store. Note coffee tables are still hard to find and you'll be hard pressed to find a complete set of 4 accent chairs if using them for a dining table. (I saw one set of 3.) But lots of pendant lights well displayed and hung from ceiling grid. Quite reasonably priced. If it's above $150 it's a massive fixture. For home furnishings/housewares people on a mission note this probably not as an efficient bunching of stores as the Home Goods location (that one is close to Marshall's and Bed Bath Beyond, walking distance, as well as Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, Goodwill, same development). This Home Sense is located right next to TJ Maxx, with Pier 1, Bobs Furniture and Big Lots, same development but will have to drive. Note here, not far from Homesense, across the way/over 175, is a Ross, Walmart, and 2nd Avenue Thrift Store. read more

Meh. I guess I expected this to be more like TJ Maxx (which is right next door). Every time I picked something up that I liked, the price had me put it back down. The layout of the store was odd too. Registers are on the side in the middle amongst what seem to be randomly placed aisles. Not everything was overpriced, I did almost buy a coffee mug and a pen holder for my desk. However, since TJ Maxx was one door over I just ended up shopping there. read more

Say goodbye to your savings and hello to an updated Home Goods. Recently opened in what used to be Staples, as if this shopping center didn't have enough death traps! It's a refreshing new take on everything you never needed for your home. Similar to Home Goods, Home Sense is actually a sister store...I believe the Canadian version? Haha don't quote me. From outdoor living space to knick knacks for every empty space that you have, this is the place to find it. It spans from office, laundry, kitchen, bath, living, to bed. The only major difference I can tell is that there is not a "linen" section, meaning bath towels, mats, sheets, comforters. But you have the typical office accessories, frames, pictures, bath accessories, candles, cards, decorative pillows, kitchen tools. I will say that they have a larger variety of rugs available here, there are I think 4 huge displays of numerous rugs. There is much more furniture here, like legit outdoor seating, couches, coffee tables, end tables...a great selection. Then from the outside of the store you can see all the light fixtures as well! Not just lamps but chandeliers, etc! With my first visit we literally spent 30 minutes in the first section, just mesmerized by every little shiny thing. Of course since it just opened about a week or two ago, you can imagine that it can get pretty busy especially on the weekends. But there is plenty of truly helpful and friendly staff on hand literally everywhere! I've only been twice but on each ocassion I was greeted by multiple really nice associates and not the overbearing let me sell you stuff kind, the simple "hey! how are you? finding everything alright?" Maybe it's just the excitement of the new store but I highly recommend checking this spot out! read more

Bottom Line: A nice store for discounted home furnishings and decor but lots of overlap with HomeGoods. HomeSense is opening near my house in Annapolis but I just couldn't wait any longer to check out the store so I headed to Columbia to do a little shopping! Going in, I knew that HomeSense was owned by by the TJX Companies, that it started in Canada and that it is supposedly nicer than HomeGoods. But what surprised me about HomeSense is how much overlap there is with HomeGoods. Unlike HomeGoods, HomeSense carries more large pieces of furniture, has more rugs, has hard wired chandeliers and does not carry linens. Both stores have home decor, kitchen items, gift wrap and bags, framed art, mirrors and lamps. what I found a little odd about HomeSense is that hte checkout is in the middle of the store and if you have a full cart or a big piece, navigating towards the exit seems like it could be tricky. I enjoyed my shopping experience at the busy HomeSense on a Saturday afternoon and I am looking forward to checking out the Annapolis store when it opens in the next week or so. read more

I came here to browse since I was in the area. I was hoping to find some Christmas ornaments. They had an assortment of glass ornaments, some were a little pricey, but also they were unique. There were some nice items in general in Homesense. I'm in love with their pillow selection, the clearance section is amazing, and it's truly a bargain. Homesense is in the category with Homegoods with a dash of TJ Maxx but on a warehouse scale. There's so much to choose from and it feels a little overwhelming. If you do come here, definitely write a checklist because as I stated there's an assortment of homegoods and cute items for your office. I can't wait to come back. read more

I love their selection but I don't love the fact that when I ask for help from an associate she seem to be too busy to help. I asked one of the employees "Maria" would she know how much a painting was that I like as it didn't have a price tag and if they had another one and her response was, "I just got here I don't know," and walked away. I ended up asking another associate and he was able to assist me and I purchased the painting with his help. On another visit I asked a manager would she by any change know the dimension of the an item and she without a word pointed at a measuring tape and walked away. What is going on with people in the retail industry? There's no more great customer service in effect. This is why many people are Turning to online shopping. If we didn't want people to help us out we can go online and shop all day. read more

Mike E was hustling all over the store and is a prime example of great customer service. We bought a tv stand that had a blemish in it and Mike was very fair with the price. In general this store has so many items especially for the modern farmhouse look. read more

My mother and I went right before closing just to do a quick breeze through. Being that is a TJ store, it is very similar to Home Goods, just a larger scale. There is more of everything that a Home Goods would carry. So far they seem to be maintaining the store well. Things aren't thrown everywhere, which is normally what you see in a discount store. I love the selection of chairs, setees, benches, and unique ottomans. The lighting and mirror section is gorgeous. I can't say anything "looks" cheap, just both traditional and modern pieces. Also some retro whimsical furniture as well. One thing that stood out was, like I said we came before closing, maybe 15 minutes to go. The associates made the closing announcement, however didn't rush us out. One associate even came and made a comment on an item we were looking at, just making conversation. Not a we are about to close the register or we are closing soon came from her. Kudos on excellent customer service. I will be returning again once we have more time. read more

This store has a large selection of home goods. The products could be good for staging or to keep in your house. In general, the store is pretty organized; however, there are items without price tags, and sometimes things get out into the clearance areas that do not belong. Also, a lot of their products don't have many variations. For example, they only had 3 types of pitchers, but this is me being picky. I love their selection of soaps and candles! They also have tons of pillows. I would suggest going to this store to browse the products, but it doesn't have everything you would need in regards to home goods. read more

Homesense is located in the Columbia Crossing shopping center right next to TJMaxx. I'm actually surprised they chose this location since it carries similar stuff as TJmaxx minus clothing. Upon entering the store, I felt immediately overwhelmed. The store is nice and bright but the shelves are jammed packed with items. I am a fan for paroosing HomeGoods and going down every aisle, but Homesense was too much for me. I didn't know where to begin looking. One thing I did like, is that they seem to have more books that HG typically has, but I didn't find anything exciting. I ended up spending less than 15 minutes in the store and driving down the street to HomeGoods. read more

Love this store! Like Homegoods with a more modern twist. Store feels like a warehouse with concrete floors and walls. The kitchen stuff seems piled up and not very organized on wire shelves. I found great curtains with lots to choose from. Staff was courteous and great service. Checked me out fast. More spacious and less cluttered than Homegoods but they don't carry bedding. You would think a store like this would be able to spare a bag big enough to cover a storage cart with drawers since the strap that came with it had been removed. Apparently even a manager can't approve use of a chandelier bag for any but its intended purpose. Then neither the floor manager or cashier helped me get the carts inside two smaller bags to keep them dry and, more importantly, keep all the drawers from falling out. Wow. Won't be coming back to this store. read more
