After calling up and speaking with his assistant about his rates and time, I noticed that it was a little more expensive than other home inspectors. She did mention that it is since he is the best, has the best reports, gets on the roof, and takes his time going through. I took Norm and her word for it and had Mark take a look at the property. His assistant called to let me know that he was running late due to traffic yet he still showed up on time, which is always a plus. We spent more than 4 hours looking through EVERYTHING, and I mean he looked at and tested everything. I have been told that most inspectors don't go up on roofs anymore yet Mark got up on the roof, snapped pictures, and was checking it out for 15 minutes. Mark uses a digital camera to take dozens of pictures and has a laptop on site that he uploads them to right away. He puts together his digital report as he goes. In all he provided a digital PDF copy of the report that was 37 pages long with so much detail. Not only did it include a few pictures on each page, descriptions, but also diagrams of how to correct it or what it should look like. Mark also knew I was a first time duplex buyer and would educate me along the way, show me various items, and explain things in detail so I would understand and know for the future. He was very educational and helpful. He may be a little more expensive than others yet what he found I was able to get some serious money knocked off the price so it was money very well spent. Highly recommend Mark and will be using him in the future.

The livingroom carpet has been pulled up 3/4 down the main wall and a 1/4 down the side wall. If you do not know how to properly move appliances without creating damage you have no business moving them!! Anyone who pulls up someone else's carpet have no business being in home sales industry as you are purposely damaging someone's home with out regard for them. I've bought several homes in different states and have never had an inspector damage a house I was buying or selling.

I wish I could have been posting a positive review regarding this company, but unfortunately, I…read morecannot. 3 months later and we are still in awe that we actually paid for this "inspection". If you want a home inspector who works for the Realtor and not for you-the buyer, then this is your place. To begin with, our roof was "inspected" by (name withheld) standing on a ladder and never setting foot onto our roof. Not surprisingly, the roof isn't in great shape and we are certain we will have to do some major work with it. A recommendation from the inspector to have a professional roofer assess it prior to purchase would have been appropriate it seems. We have had inspectors from our various moves in other states (who have been fabulous) and they have always run water throughout the house while flushing toilets. This company did not. The half bath toilet doesn't flush well and it took the appraiser from the bank to address the situation! The tub was not draining well until after we moved in and "snaked" the drain. Also, the water pressure for the tub was extremely questionable- very low. Things were marked as "operates" and "functional flow/drainage" on our inspection form, when in all reality, there were significant concerns! Main bathroom- we had concerns regarding the outlet not being grounded and after being asked about the type of wiring in this home, they declined to remove the switch plate to let us peer in at what type of wiring we were dealing with. Maybe all home inspectors wouldn't do this, but it was frustrating none the less. There were other disconcerting issues that were not addressed as well. All in all, an extremely disappointing experience. Fortunately, we are willing to do home improvements (and expected to do some), but a detailed and thorough home inspection would have been appreciated as we would have had more professional people (electricians/plumbers/roofers/etc.) come and assess the home in greater detail prior to purchase. There are many home inspection companies available and I will certainly opt for another company in the future.
