I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. Most importantly, the real estate agent was able to tell prospective buyers that the roof was going to be repaired and we were under contract to have it completed. Thanks Buck Remodeling! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

We interviewed 5 other painters. There are some good ones out there, but we managed to find the best one. No one but Promark thought to replace plugged soffit vents. Dates of service: August 27, 2025…read more I had been struggling to find an electrician that was available and that wouldn't give me an estimate without a trip charge to swap out a ceiling fan that died (looking at you Current Electric...) and came across this interestingly named outfit, Bae's Electric. They responded to my request through Yelp quickly and we scheduled something at a set price ($175) for a few days out, between 8 and 930 am. Ryan asked me to text him the address, which I did, to the number that I had received a text message via Yelp. Fast-forward to the date of service and Ryan called me, very confused, asking if I was the person that wanted a ceiling fan installed. He seemed to have no information about me other than my phone number and the job, but I confirmed this and texted him my address to a different number and he again confirmed the time period. At 953, nearly a half hour after the window, I texted Ryan at the other number, asking if someone was coming. 20 minutes after that, Les arrived. At 11 am, Ryan texted me to ask "Did he make it out there." I confirmed that Les was here. I want to say that Les was very nice, but this is where things really went downhill. He struggled to find the right breaker for the bedroom where the fan was to be replaced and ultimately had most of the house turned off while he worked. In his defense, the panel is older and not well-labeled. Had he been on time, I could have helped him test which one was the correct one, but given his tardiness, I had meetings to dial into for you. Thankfully I had a hotspot I could use while I worked without internet. After my meeting, I stopped down to check on Les, standing on my bed, with his shoes still on. To a certain extent, I get it, the bed is large for the room, but that seemed like a poor choice to make, in my opinion. He said he was good and I told him that I was free of meetings for a while if he needed anything from me. Two hours later he came to see me, sweaty and defeated. He said he could not figure out how to install the fan (an Atomi ceiling fan from Costco, one that our neighbors behind us had installed in 90 minutes from another company) and that Ryan would be calling me. Les left the ceiling fan box on my bed, parts and garbage from the box spread out across my dresser, parts on the floor, and the old ceiling fan in the middle of the dining room. After he left, I noticed that he also left a stain on our driveway. Ryan called later and apologized for the issue but said he wasn't sure when he could be out. He offered late that evening, but that time didn't work for us so he said unless he had a cancellation, it would be "sometime this weekend." Part of my expected not to hear from him again. Three days later, on Saturday morning, Ryan texts me to confirm him coming at 11 a.m. I told him that he hadn't provided a time but 11 was fine. He then asked to change it to Sunday between 10 and 11. I told him that I could just find someone else to do this work and he responded that "today was fine, it sounded like you had something going on." At this point it felt like I was in an SNL skit and I reiterated that this had been a terrible experience and I would find someone else, between the mess and the stain in our driveway. Ryan replied, "That's fine." Update: Ryan came back and did the install at no cost. He also offered us a GFCI outlet with USB ports, but it wasn't something we necessarily needed but we thanked him for the offer. I did appreciate him trying to make the experience better and have revised my review accordingly.

WE Energies turned off the power and told me they would not turn it back on until a licensed electrician replaced the connections. They also said some electricians would turning the power, others would require me to contact WE Energies and them wait for them to turn on the power. I started contacting every electrician who advertised emergency service and 24-hour service. Most said they would get back to me on Monday, some said their first available date was mid August. One even said they had an opening in November. When I contacted Ramirez, he said he could be there by noon. He was actually there much earlier. He stood outside in the rain for the several hours it took to complete the job, including restoring the power. He will definitely be the person I will contact for electrical problems in the future and the one I will recommend to others.
