Over the last few months, I have interviewed half a dozen vacation management companies in search of a great parter to manage my property in Old Town Scottsdale. All of the other companies that I had spoken with were experienced and knowledgeable, but nothing about those conversations left me excited about partnering or gave me the confidence that they would manage my property with the level of attention and care that I expected. I felt like my house would just be one of the thousands of other properties they manage across the county. They cared more about getting the sale than working with me to develop a tailored strategy for my home. Don't get me wrong, the home in phoenix was super cute. BUT when it's 90 degrees outside and the house is hotter than it is out there, it's not worth the money. I think maybe air bnbs in Arizona should require AC? Idk if that's just me. She treated our group like we didn't know how to operate a very simple thermostat. So much that it took her hours of telling us how to use it, that it was too late for a technician to come. It was so hot, we had to be outside. We had 10 people. 1 was pregnant, and 4 more of us were not drinking. She tried to charge $1,000 for a noise complaint that was never made. Which she says that her neighbor took "multiple videos and photos" of our "house party" of girls in the pool with bikinis on! She never sent the actual video that we can listen to. Just a screenshot. But that pretty creepy of the neighbor to take videos of girls in the pool. So maybe don't use the pool if you stay at her house in phoenix. . Besides that, going back to the house being 86 DEGREES and her not caring or being apologetic at all. It was finally fixed 6:30 pm on Saturday, but it probably took until 8pm to cool from 86 degrees to 73. Not once were we rude to her. We could've been under these circumstances. Sorry your ego is fragile and you're unable to take constructive criticism. A woman of your age, I would expect a bit more professionalism and maturity. House is cute tho! Good job decorating! PS. We don't need your money. Your house with no ac just wasn't worth it. But thanks for the feedback. A budget in or hostel would've probably had better service and AC. This isn't "retaliation" for money. Just standing up for my friends and letting everyone know you're a pathological liar when we have every screen shot and video proof of everything. read more

Ellie is the most unprofessional business owner I have ever come in contact with. The beginning of our stay was okay, not great, but okay. We arrived in late April to a home in Phoenix Arizona that had no working AC. The issue was brought up to Ellie at around 6pm on a Friday. It wasn't until 6:30pm on SATURDAY that we got AC. She argued back and forth for the first two hours asking us the same question "Did you try adjusting the AC?" We spent 60% of our stay (yes, 60%) with no air conditioning. After asking for some sort of partial refund or even FANS, we were not given either. After spending close to $2000 for a two night stay, we requested a partial refund which was denied immediately. Ellie then starts to send VERY unprofessional messages to our group after we left an HOENST review. She lies to Airbnb stating that we were comfortable in the home and that it "wasn't that hot" Try setting your house to 86° in the middle of the day in Arizona and tell me how comfortable you are Ellie. She then writes a review stating that we had a "large shouting party after hours". She was aware this was a bachelorette party, we were all inside by 9:45pm (Quiet hours is 10pm) and we didn't even fill the max occupancy of the home. After we requested a refund, Ellie decides to request $1000 in damages for being noisy BEFORE QUIET HOURS and lies and states it was after hours. I'm sorry but paying for a home we couldn't use for 60% of our stay Is not okay. I hope you learn some hospitality and customer service skills or this business isn't going to make it very far. read more

Ellie is so concerned about her "reviews" that she continuously lies. Since I cannot reply to her latest response that is filled with lies. Our group did not have 12 people. It was 10 (which is within the house guidelines) and there was no huge parties, we did play music in the backyard on a small speaker and was inside the house before the quiet hours of 10pm. We had to be outside seeing as it was HOT AS HELL inside with no working AC. The broken AC was brought to her attention very early on during our stay and took well over 24 hours to fix. She never offered fans or anything. We ended up asking for them and she said 3 would be sent, we NEVER received them. She is very upset over us requesting a partial refund. The partial refund amount that was requested was for 1 nights stay, seeing as we stayed more than 1 night (60% of our stay) without AC, seems pretty fair. Instead of responding professionally you continue to lie and not take accountability. I'm sorry we stated the FACTS and you cannot handle that. Don't shoot the messenger! read more

I am a customer service aficionado and in my personal experience, Homeslice owners Ellie and Rebecca went above and beyond any service level that I have ever received. Over the past 9 years my family and I have stayed in over 200 different vacation rentals and because my families livelihood depends on the customer service levels that I provide to my clients, I am not easy to please. I am not very good at technology, Remote controls, and New Age gadgets, etc. Rebecca was taking my phone calls at all hours to answer my ancillary questions about turning on the Jacuzzi, TV, and even the thermostat which were all things most if not all other hosts have told me to Google or read the manual. This is now the third time that I have worked with Homeslice and each of their places have been very clean, sanitized, and most important I wasn't misled by the photos being modified or filtered! Their properties have exceeded my expectations. That said, I have to respectfully disagree with the individual that left the bad review. Whenever I see a one star review when there are several five star reviews, I do my research on the individual that is reviewing the company or organization as well. In this instance, the gentleman that left the one star review has given a total of four reviews on his yelp profile and three of the reviews came back with him giving the companies one star. In my experience it leads me to believe that even if this was not a personal attack, this individual has an insatiable appetite for unrealistic expectations and would be very hard to please. I don't know either one of you personally but as a business owner this sounds personal and strikes me as retribution for something that happened that is unrelated to the business. You should take it off line, its just misleading to people like me and the rest of the yelpers that want to review the organization. I can assure you that no one came to this site to read a soap opera so let's be mindful about the true purpose of Yelp. The site is designed for consumers to educate themselves about the service or product through the reviews and experiences from their peers so we shouldn't water down its purpose. I'd rate it negative if I can, utter lack of professionalism. I contact HomeSlice via Yelp because of the good rating. Ellie replied via text and set up a time to call me the next day. She didn't call as scheduled (a red flag, but I thought I should give her benefit if the doubt), so I called her and left voice message. She finally called me and set up a time to visit my house yesterday or today. I also texted her my email address per her request so she can email me info about HomeSlice. I waited yesterday and today. She never showed up and she also didn't email me any info about HomeSlice as she promised. So I finally texted her and told her I'm concerned about the lack of her reliability. She texted me back and told me "it's the holidays!" We had been short-term renting our Scottsdale condo on our own, and Home Slice was able to broaden our rental pool and found us renters when we couldn't.
