I paid for carpet to be pulled up and the padding, before putting the new padding And carpet in. I told the installers once the children move out I'm going to pull up the carpet and have my hardwood floors. Children moved out and getting ready to sell the house, the installers did NOT remove the padding upstairs in the bedrooms! I called and reported it and the fella I spoke with could care less. The padding that was not pulled up is from the 70's from the pictures I posted you can see some of the mess I have on my hands. I would not buy carpet, I wouldn't trust the installers and I will be reporting this to the better business bureau. read more

My friend bought a large amount of carpet from them and had them to install it. They sent two guys that were very sketchy to install it and during the process one of the men tells my friend that he will sand the bottom of the doors to keep them from damaging the carpet but she had to pay him CASH. He said he had to go get a tool out if the PAWN SHOP to finish job! So reluctantly she paid them CASH and they left supposedly to get the tool. HOURS LATER they show back up and were at her house for many more HOURS. When she called owner to explain all his response was "welllll I'll hv a talk with them". WHAT?!!!! In the world!!! Thier are jus some people who no matter what ya do there not gonna be happy an that's jus how that live there life miserable assholes if ya ask me but no one is perfect we make mistakes and have good days an bad days some things should have been handled different but any installers who messed up most likely doesn't work there any more but I've used hometown carpet all my life an they are way better than any other store read more

We wanted to carpet all the bedrooms in the house, we got several quotes that we were not real happy with, a family member recommend we go to Hometown Carpets. We were not bombarded as soon as we walked through the door, we were able to browse on our own till we were ready to speak with a sales person. When we told them what we wanted they took us into the area where they had the carpet in stock, we actually got to see the large rolls of carpet, it made for a nice change from the usually some carpet squares. We found the carpet we wanted and asked for a quote, the quote they gave us was 500-600 below the other quotes, and everything was included, there was no pushing to upgrade, no addition pricing for items that may or may not be necessary. With the carpet in stock we were able to schedule the work to be done right away. The guys who came to the house were very respectful of our home, and not only did they not waste anytime getting things done, they did it right the first time. So I would very much recommend them to others for their carpet needs. They did such a good job on ours that we have chosen them to do the tiling for our entire downstairs. Always heard hometown carpet was the place to go, alot of people suggested them too whenever we decided to get new carpet in our living room and stairwell. The salesman was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a good experience in the store. We picked out some really good carpet, not the cheap stuff that was on sale. We have a large room around 16 x 20. We knew there would be a seam but the salesman assured us that we would not be able to find it if we didn't know where to look. This in part due to the quality of carpet that we purchased. Everything so far was great. That all changed from the moment the installers arrived. They came in smelling of cigarette smoke and we hoped our carpet thay was in the van didn't stink too. They were talking to each other about how it was measured wrong and that they would " have to make it work ". Halfway through installation, one of them had his shirt off and the other was asking my wife for bottles of water. Very unprofessional. We have a 7 year old daughter that was present also. After install was complete, ( 6 hours later ), there was a huge mess of staples and carpet fibers, not to mention a hole in a door and ripped wallpaper . Upon cleaning all of this up is when I noticed the seams. They were all clearly visible. I asked my children ( 5 & 7 ) to find the seams and it took them both about 3 seconds to do so. It looked terrible. Called the store, and the installation manager sent them back out the next day to " fix " the seams. They came back and steamed them and it did nothing. They tried glueing and steaming but nothing worked, in fact it made it worse and the installer realized the backing came off the carpet. After a few failed attempts and no shows to make arrangements to come back and fix it, they finally came back and replaced part of the carpet and re-seamed it. Still looked bad. Was told to give it 30 days or so to let the fibers gel together or something. After 2 weeks, I couldn't stand it any longer so I called and told the installation manager I still wasn't happy with it. I was told I wouldn't be able to find a seam but I can. He then tells me that they don't guarantee seams won't be visible and I said that the salesman guaranteed it. He said he talked to him and he never told me that. I told him regardless of this lie that I'm still not happy so he said he would send a different crew out to see what they could do differently. This in part due to me complaining about the last crew being unprofessional and not being able to do the job correctly. A few days went by and heard nothing, another no show. I called and spoke to install manager again and he sent the " new " crew out the next day. Well it was the same two guys and they tore it back out at the seam and done a bit better job on the main seam but is still visible to this day. I can see it when I walk in the room. I'm tired of calling and taking the day off work or cancelling our busy schedule just so these two guys can come and not do it correctly again. My next step I guess is to file a complaint with the BBB and see what happens. Maybe small claims court. Or maybe I'll just have to live with their mediocre install. read more

Hometown Carpet Outlet staff was very friendly, helpful, & professional. I found a piece of vinyl flooring that I liked, but someone had taken the sample & not returned it. I was pretty sure this was what I wanted, but didn't want to commit until I could see a sample in my room at home. They went out of their way to get me a sample by cutting off a good sized piece of the large roll they had on display. Another carpet store in town that I visited would not cut a piece off of a large roll that I was interested in. Also, the installation team was friendly & did a very professional job. They were quiet & not very talkative at first, but after talking with them a little, they opened up & I found that they were "down-home" people, just like most of the people from this area are. The prices were very reasonable, and over all, I am a very satisfied customer! read more
