I really like eating peanuts but not from dog bowls. Get a whiskey sour at Homy Inn and put some Pixies on the jukebox. No, actually, don't put Pixies on the jukebox because everyone else will, anyway, and you'll end up hearing the same song over and over all night. The champagne on tap is a cool little gimmick, but it tastes like fizzy apple juice and I have no reason to believe that's not actually what it is. This was the first bar I ever went to, when I was 17 or 18. They have a Tuaca machine and it's where the Brothers' crowd goes on Sundays since Tray and Lelaya need to rest on the holy day. read more

The decor of newspaper-lined walls, old beer cans and signs is a little contrived, but this is a great place to meet with a group of friends. The Homy has something for everyone - great beer selection and prices, good tv, rarely used Golden Tee machine, friendly bartenders, warm peanuts served in a dog bowl, and great italian delivered from Sgt Peffers across the street. We finally made it to the spot of town that I have passed by for three years! We finally tried the champagne on tap and it was as delicious as I thought it was going to be. The place itself is very homey and looks like it has been there forever! There's a lot of parking available. Inside a couple of big tables. They have a wide and varied menu of drinks but food wise they have popcorn or hot peanuts or you can always cross the street and get Sergeant peffers. The champagne on tap was delicious, the sweet champagne was not as good. I could easily see this becoming a frequent stop! read more

The Homy is about as a dive as it can get on the inside. Complete with a tar-stained ceiling from the days smoking was allowed in bars around Omaha. People come for the champagne and moscato on-tap. The beer selection is pretty good, but I wish they would rotate in some kegs from lesser known breweries. They are also good about letting you order in outside food to eat. read more

Good ol Homy! I am not from here but this has become the go to spot anytime family comes i in town to visit. I have since been there three times and always come in and leave with a smile on my face. Great beer selection, best peach champagne on tap, and always good shot specials! My cousin and I love getting the peanuts in a dog bowl for less than a buck, and free popcorn, we have even left with shirts a couple of the times (which turn out to be great conversation pieces when worn!). My favorite part of Homy is that it reminds me a bit of my grandma's bar she used to own, dark cozy and full of life. Love that sgt. Peffers across the street will hand deliver delicious italian food straight to your table. Will be returning again very soon! read more

Solid drink selection. Nicki, behind the bar, was GREAT! The patrons were cool - just looking to have fun or kick-it. We were there for a few hours and had a blast. We couldn't believe how small our tab was (and we were buying drinks for others). We had Nicki double check the math but our bill was accurate. Fun time. A price point you can't beat. The Homy is a great Sunday evening spot. They have board games including Jenga (my favorite) to play along with peanuts in a dog dish. Champagne on tap is a must, but if you prefer beer there are many to choose from. Also, if you spend $100 you get a Homy shirt...very cool. read more

My fave new old bar. Perfect for me - drove from Lincioln and will become regulars. Loved the strawberry and apple champagnes. Slow crowd after opening on Sunday (noon) and it suited us fine. Champagne on tap, super friendly and attentive staff, and a great dive bar feel. Fun place for groups with a good music mix.

I have a completely different experience every single time i come here. sometimes I'm surrounded by snobby rich creighton kids that just got off a party bus, sometimes i get yelled at by a homeless guy, sometimes there's an old lady trying to watch an awards show on the tv and is "shushing " the other tables around her. The bathroom is terrible; inconveniently placed and tiny. But the bar service is good. Get there early to snag a table, there is literally no place to stand otherwise. The best thing about the champagne on tap is that you can mix the flavors, just ask the bartender! Half peach half regular is my personal fave. This spot is A little more expensive than any of the bars up the road in benson-but you're guaranteed an interesting time here...I'll say that. read more

Been to this place a million times several years ago. Typical dive bar. Free popcorn and peanuts served in a dog bowl. Champagne on tap but it does not taste like champagne. No fizz/carbonation. Went on a week night. Old lady bartender was one of the grouchiest people I'd ever met. Horrible service and I even tipped well (twice!) in hopes she would treat me with a little decency considering I was a paying customer. Nope, didn't work. She made me feel like I was bothering her by ordering drinks and at one point she even told me to hurry up as it took me about a millisecond to decide what beer I wanted. Drinks, eh. Popcorn is popcorn. Won't be back. Only two good things about the night was that I left the homy and headed over to sgt peffers for a beer, and dinner. read more

Would never go back. The male owner is a Dick. Asked him if the champagne was homemade and all he would say is "Maybe". Was excited to let him know that we would be coming back with approx. 48 people on a pub crawl, and his only comment was "everyone comes here". Great vibe, nice bartenders (esp. Jenn who is quick, friendly and pours a mean cocktail) and cheap (or free) snacks...peanuts are a buck, popcorn is free. Pitchers of domestic are like seven dollars and they have Big Ass Beer Night, which is 22 oz. glasses of beer for $3.25. The crowds get overwhelming big and awful on the weekends, though, so save this one for Sun-Thurs and AVOID on Sat-Sun. read more
