They wrongly marked the puppy passports due to not paying attention. Then they told one of my customers that they had to start over on their puppy vaccines because "the breeder" did them too early (6 weeks old). This is "funny" because they sure didn't have trouble taking my money for those vaccines for the entire litter. I had previously been in to inquire on a worming schedule for the puppies and they said "some breeders do them early like 4 weeks old but we can just do them at their 6 week checkup".....You mean the one that is too early? Also, when I called to clarify things for MY customer, they got an attitude and started throwing a lot of excuses and false stories to deflect from what they are doing. They went so far as to say I was distracted by my 3 year old and wasn't listening. Really? We are resorting to blaming a 3 year old instead of saying maybe you mispoke. The 3 year old who got blamed for distracting wasn't even in the clinic the day I made my next appointment for puppy boosters. You would think if it was too early they would've said something especially if they care about customer retention. Did more research and called other vets and they said we wouldn't have to redo anything. This vet just seems a little untrustworthy and a LOT unorganized. Add rude to the list also. **Actually it was a vet tech. Becky.

Honest, friendly, caring, respectful, and always willing to solve problems at a great price. They have taken care of with great compassion and kindness when my son's dog had to be put down. We brought him from Houston and they did everything they could to get him healthy, but he was suffering and it was so hard for my son to make that decision. They gave him extra time to say goodbye and didn't rush him no matter what time it was. I recommend Lakehills Animal Health for your pets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yikes. I came in for…read morea dental consultation on my cat. I brought him in and for the "exam" it was $43. It was a better price than the 2 animal hospitals I called for a consultation and with the 4 1/2 star rating on Yelp. As a former vet tech, I conducted my days with clients thoroughly on appointments and always valued the bedside manners that I seen the veterinarian I worked with; Dr. Fuess came in with no introduction, looked at my cat's mouth and checked his heart rate, that's all the exam consisted of. It took about a minute, not even checking his ears, eyes, skin, ect. I was pissed. The vet tech barely did anything either to ensure I am picking the right place for a pricey procedure. The "estimate" was a joke, with a range of $537-$1237. The tech explained why it was more of a range than an established price, and I was aware he was going to need teeth extraction but I still found it unacceptable, especially after that lack of exam (mind you I drove 30 minutes out too). When I went to check out and pay (in which I was still polite, kept my composure), the receptionist didn't say a word to me after the transaction, not a "thank you" or anything. Certainly not getting his teeth done here. P.S. If you want a nail trim, while the animal is under anesthesia, ya know, cutting the stress and hassle for the tech and animal, will be $19. Ridiculous.

I originally was a customer here, but for convenience purposes I moved to the Lytle clinic, however, after the Lytle vet moved and I was not impressed with the new vet, I came back to Alamo and I will not leave again. I currently have a 10 year old cat with diabetes, arthritis and a chronic fungal lung infection. While I appreciate both doctor's, Dr. Garza has repeatedly been my life saver over the last four years as we have treated these issues. He is patient and thorough. Over the years my cat has gone from docile and well-behaved at the vet to a holy terror or hissing clawing ball of puffed up fur as soon as we drive into the parking lot, but Dr. Garza finds a way to get what we need done and has not only extended my cat's life, but has also helped give him a good quality of life. As long as Dr. Garza is at Alamo, so will my pets. Dr. Baker has always been wonderful as well and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I have full confidence in this clinic which is so nice when I am stressed about this crazy orange ball of fur I love so much.

If I hadn't trusted my gut and taken my dog to the ER at BluePearl the next day, the option for surgery would've been off the table had I waited longer and trusted the Dr. The misdiagnosis and misguidance from Dr.Garza could've cost my dog his life. Just recently, April 2026, my dog started showing symptoms of an ACTUAL upset stomach, with bloody stool and reluctancy to eat. I decided to schedule a last minute appointment with Alamo, only because the other vet clinic I prefer had no availability for the rest of the week. Why not give Alamo a second chance? I am a forgiving person. Well, I showed up, the nurse came in and did an examination, walked out to speak with the Dr. on duty (the Dr. never came into the room, so I have no idea who the doctor was), and came back just to tell me that they think my dog has an obstruction, but their X-Ray machine has been down for DAYS and can't do anything for my dog. Had they reviewed the notes I provided when I booked the appointment, and understood that there was a possibility that my dog might need an X-Ray, a courtesy call would have been appreciated before I made the trip over there just to be disappointed again. They turned me away and even said they didn't want to waste any more of my time. This clinic sucks.

Scheduling was easy. The receptionists have been so helpful and efficient from beginning to end. The vet techs, Kelly and Joseph were so awesome listening to all my concerns. They were thorough, professional and so kind prior to us meeting the vet. Dr Tapia was phenomenal. She answered all of our questions and was patient when explaining things we didn't understand. This entire experience was so comforting especially when seeing how they handled both my kitties. The vet has always been a traumatizing experience for not only me but for my cats. But my experience today with Amigo Animal Hospital changed that completely. They mentioned follow up visits and I honestly can't wait to come back. From the moment we arrived, the staff acted quickly and immediately took him to the back while helping me complete the necessary paperwork. I was extremely distraught, and I truly appreciated how one of the staff members took the time to sit with me and help calm me down. Everyone I interacted with was kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring during such a scary situation. Our visit did take several hours since they wanted to monitor him closely throughout the day, but I appreciated that the team checked in with me about every hour to provide updates on how he was doing. Those updates meant a lot and helped ease my anxiety. Dr. Gonzalez was knowledgeable, compassionate, and took the time to explain everything. Thankfully, they didn't find anything concerning during his evaluation and recommended that we follow up with our regular veterinarian for continued care. I hope I never have another emergency, but I'm incredibly grateful to the entire team for treating my dog with such excellent care and for showing me so much kindness during one of the most stressful days I've experienced as a pet owner. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby.

I had to bring my dog on Memorial Day weekend after I noticed that he was lethargic, had nausea,…read moreand was refusing for which was very out of character. We rushed over on a Saturday and I truly appreciate how quickly the tech's triaged him and did not dismiss his case even though he was presenting normal except for a fever and abdominal pain. I was worried that he was going to be dismissed since it had only been a few hours since he started to act strange but I know my dog so well and I know something was very wrong. The doctor let me know that they suspected pancreatitis but there was no ultrasonographer to confirm until Tuesday. He was started on meds to control pain, nausea, and try to get an appetite but he kept getting worse and they decided to have him stay overnight. Sunday they called that they were going to start on NG tube, antibiotics since he had fluid in his abdomen, and continue to monitor. They still said they needed the ultrasound for pancreatitis and I asked why not the blood test but they said they needed ultrasound which I still don't understand why it couldn't be the blood work. Monday they called and let me know he was in sepsis and the fluid had bacteria and he needed surgery but because of the holiday there was no surgeon available and I needed to transfer to blue pearl since they had someone on call. I rushed over and took him over there and I was so grateful that they had me switch because the care we received at blue pearl was phenomenal compared to here. I appreciate that the doctor started him on antibiotics early and was treating him the same way a confirmed case of pancreatitis would be treated because I feel that helped save his life. My main frustration is that they had no doctors in to help him because of the holiday from Saturday all the way to Tuesday. It was very frustrating to take a dog for emergency care to an emergency hospital and pay a ton of money to not have the doctors he needs available especially when quick care can make the difference of him living or not. I will be taking all my pets to blue pearl instead of here because of how amazing they were and that they had staff that could provide timely care.
