Be careful how u review this vet, as sending her cards to remind of her sloppy work she did and how her staff also got the bill wrong upsets her. She must have friends in high places to have the Law enforcement drop by, when you don't even threaten someone. I personally was a victim of aggravated assault 2 years ago, both men captured the same day. Shockingly enough no special law enforcement treatment for me. No Detective knocking on their door. They don't even show for court and it's ok. So if you need someone with friends to go out in uniform with guns to say stop sending her cards you can't do that. That's postal Abuse! But if you are robbed and assaulted it's ok! Just remember it hurts her feelings to have dead animals she did not take care of brought up. Do not take your pet to this clinic I am sure they could even screw up euthanasia.

Since they were booked, we were taken on a walk-in basis. Dr. Thomas was very kind and patient, answering all my questions. I kind of run on at the mouth, yet he was so patient. Dr. Thomas explained the potential problems, and recommended some tests. He also diagnosed an eye problem that I assumed was just allergies. It's an easy fix with some eye ointment. The vet tech was a total sweetheart. She was very engaging and also a great listener. We talked about the weather differences between the Hill Country and Minnesota. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating. They were efficient and polite. The new building is fantastic! Handicapped parking is close by and there are sufficient spots. I had no trouble smoothly rolling my oxygen machine into the building. It was easy to locate seating with a nearby power outlet for my machine. I didn't mind waiting to be seen - not in such a nice environment! The coffee bar was a welcome surprise, because I didn't have a chance to get coffee before I left our house. When we were led back to the exam room we passed a playroom they have set up for human puppies (children), which I thought was very thoughtful. I would have taken a picture, but hubs gets a little embarrassed when I do that. Trust me, it looks like a lot of fun for kids!

We had trusted Herbst Veterinary Hospital with our pets for approximately three years. On June 19, 2026, we brought our cats Octavia and Jacapoo in for routine wellness services. After reviewing our invoice, we believed our military discount had not been properly applied and that several charges required explanation. When we contacted management, we were met over the phone with sarcasm, yelling, and unprofessional behavior from both the assistant manager and the practice manager. The conversation became so inappropriate that my husband began recording it. Shortly afterward, we received an email terminating our relationship with the practice. After we filed a written complaint, the area manager contacted us and acknowledged that office management had acted inappropriately and informed us that corrective action had been taken. Despite that admission, our concerns regarding billing, communication, and veterinary care were never satisfactorily resolved. Soon afterward, our cat Jacapoo developed a serious paw injury following the nail trim performed at the hospital. He began limping, experienced significant pain, stopped eating normally, and appeared ill. We contacted the practice immediately. During the follow-up visit, we did not receive clear explanations regarding his treatment, and our concerns were dismissed. We ultimately sought treatment from another veterinarian because we no longer had confidence in the care provided. We are requesting that this complaint be placed on record and that Herbst Veterinary Hospital review its billing practices, customer service standards, employee and management training, procedures for handling patient concerns, animal welfare and follow-up care.

We called ahead and Avery calmed us down with immediate knowledge and comfort remedies to get there as it was a hour drive . Upon arrival Avery quickly came to us and too Leah for vitals . She explained possibilities and assured us Leah would start feeling better soon . A bonus to Avery was Dr Dielmann . He was amazing to say the least! We were nervous and scared about what he was going to convey. He gave us hope that the chances of a less severe diagnosis was probable. He was so understanding and sensative to our feelings. I guess they would also do the same for your family pets. Our situation started when a stray cat decided to have her kittens underneath our deck. The deck is so low to the ground that a person can't get under it. So we fed the momma cat and her babies when they got old enough to eat cat food. She had 5 babies that survived. However, since we live in an area that has many different animals (coyote, bobcat, fox), 2 babies disappeared quickly. We knew we had to do something as the remainder didn't have much time left on earth. My wife checked with the shelters nearby, and unfortunately, they were all full. While my wife was checking where we could take them, the momma cat disappeared. Now we were left with 3 young ones. We are dog people, so we had never thought about ever having a cat(s). But they were so cute, the wife decided we should take them in. However, we did not want any more babies, so we knew we needed to fix them. That's where Hill Country comes in. My wife called them to see if they could be seen any time soon and left a message. They got back to us the next week, discussed what we could do, and set up an appointment to fix the 2 boys first. The day of the appointment, we got to the business right on time and were able to park right in front of the building. A young lady came out quickly (they don't let anybody inside) and went over everything with us, got us to sign the paperwork, and took the boys inside. Everything went well, and we were able to pick them up late the same afternoon. The only negative about the entire situation is that you are not allowed inside. You don't know anything about how clean it is or anything else. Will we return? When the female kitten gets a little older.

TSVS has performed two medial patellar luxation surgeries on Soleil, my husky. The first went fine…read morewith some minor complication where the wound didn't heal due to the surgical hardware but the second surgery performed by Dr. Franklin has resulted in significant surgical complications. After the surgery when I took her from the veterinary tech and began lifting in her car, I saw that blood was streaming down her leg and the wound was wide open and no longer sutured. Days later I was told that Soleil's skin, tissue, and bone were quickly necrotizing. My dog is now in her fourth month of recovering from the surgery, and still faces the threat of possible leg amputation. Instead of directly treating the surgical complications, Dr. Franklin delegated this work to my regular vet, who did not have direct experience in this area. Not once has Dr. Harper or Dr. Franklin reached out to me to explain what happened or to go over with me possible options for my dog's future until today after I filed an online negative review of TSVS. He didn't bother contacting me even after I asked my regular vet to speak with him months ago. Dr. Harper's cold response today was that I signed a form acknowledging that the surgery had risks. Yes, like with any veterinary procedure, an owner acknowledges risks, but at the same time, I never authorized what appears to me to be veterinary malpractice. To this day TSVS cannot explain to me what happened to her and how her health suddenly deteriorated so quickly. My regular vet at Acorn Hill stated that this negative outcome is "unprecedented," but still I have no explanation of how this happened. I now know Dr. Harper's background is actually that of an equine veterinarian, and in my opinion he should not be performing surgery on smaller animals. I don't believe either surgeon is board-certified to perform surgeries on dogs. This has been by far the worst veterinary experience I've ever had. Please stay away!

The expertise of Dr. Franklin and all the techs involved was remarkable! And their care afterwards was beyond wonderful! London wouldn't be where she is right now with all they did for her.
