I was in Houston for the summer. I called Shawn and he agreed to serve as our single source to evaluate the damage and remodel our entire downstairs. Within 30 days, Shawn completed the remodel. He wasn't the cheapest, but his quote was very reasonable and came across as very professional. I scheduled Kevin for one room first. It was the workout room with an accent wall. We provided the paint to ensure we got the right colors. Kevin showed up early and ready to work with all the right equipment needed. Kevin said he'd likely need to come back for a second coat on the dark accent wall. He asked me to let him know how it looks once it's allowed to dry. It looked great, but it did need a second coat. I called Kevin and he was back out within a couple days. Early again. Very impressed. I booked Kevin for three more rooms. He did a great job with those as well. I'll definitely use Kevin for projects in the future. Update: I took it upon myself to install some overhead storage in the garage. I should've used Kevin. I ended up drilling through a water pipe in the ceiling. I turned off the water and called Kevin. He responded right away and fixed the pipe. He really is a great person to have on speed dial. He did a great job of aligning several doors. However, painting is another matter. When you paint…read moreyou also paint the trim around the windows installed on a door, requiring blue masking tape and time. He did not paint the windows trim, just the door(s) up to the trim. Sloppy, shoddy, and unprofessional. Similarly, he got paint on the tabby coating on both sides of the front door, and left paint missing from around the dead bolt. Then came the pocket doors fiasco. I approach this by stating what should have happened. First you inspect and remove one lock and see if it can be repaired and learn what fault exists, potentially precluding excess labor and time. Instead he went to Lowe's to obtain replacement locks, both of which he stated were seriously lacking substance. Yet, he elected to spend two hours boring out new frame openings to allow these new locks to be used. The only way to use the outer door lock is to engage it fully before shutting the door, a quirk, but it worked. The inner master bath lock was another matter. Hours after he left I used the toilet room and engaged that lock, the one never shown while he was present; it was wobbly, made a clicking sound when closing the door, was cheaply made, but it locked. When I tried to open it, it took me four minutes to open the door. I informed him this was unacceptable and these need to be replaced. I ordered replacement locks from Amazon, and kept his apprised of their arrival, so he could repair his mistakes. This never happened. He has no intention of fixing my doors after screwing up the framing. Thus, keep him away from painting doors and repairing locks on pocket doors.

Jason is very competent, logical, shows up and gets things done! No excuses. He's not the cheapest date, but if you need it done right the first time, he's your guy! He squeezed me in, under the wire, to help me get termite damage remediated on a vinyl sided shed, per a VA inspection. He also replaced a window per the VA lenders requirement. He installed a kitchen range hood, installed door trim, and did drywall and paint repairs for me at a couple of properties. He's reliable and trustworthy. He's a great guy to add to your arsenal of go-to-guys. Jack of all trades.
