Honest is a burger joint chain. I went to the Cambridge one with my parents. They have gourmet burgers, fries, and other American burger joint staples like milk shakes. Price are reasonable. Would come back for a burger fix. Venue had benches, TVs, and tables. Service was very engaging and fast. Ordered: Tribute burger - liked the rosemary Onion rings - really good, had a little spicy kick. Would recommend

Breakfast/brunch like we are in Danny's. Sightly better variety. Good portion and good value. Fries is not crispy. Mushroom is oily. You get lots of avocado! Best: breakfast brunch. Avoid : Coffee/Latte are both sour.

Best burger. Perfect balance between beef and bun, the beef burger was by far better than many American bistros.

Service; Great the servers are always walking around ready if you want their attention. We arrived just after the rush for lunch this place looked packed but there was no wait greeted instantly (which isn't the norm in the UK), and sat straight away. Drinks; Came out super quickly! Great selection of soft and cocktails! Food; I couldn't have been happier so good, sweet and unami perfection! Overall; I'm coming back! Really chilled unrushed environment!!

The rosemary chips were the highlight for me!! Plus a shake made from gelato from a local company.

If all you're looking to do is meet your basic needs, in a Maslow's Hierarchy sense, then this is your place. However, for anyone who has traveled through Europe and/or has a reverence for the sacred nectar that is Belgian beer, this pub provides service with a most disrespectful sin. Allow me to explain. One of the glories of drinking beer in Europe is the service. Each beer is typically served in its brewery-appointed glass. Some are even served pair with small snacks to complement the beer. This takes the simple act of having a beer and turns it into an experience of greater depth and enjoyment. The Maypole, however, doesn't feel it should conform to this practice. Instead choosing to serve some of the world's greatest beers without the care to serve them in the proper glass, even though they have them. It feels wrong. Sure, some may argue that serving a beer in any style of Belgian glass meets the requirement, but for me it doesn't. For example, my local pub had a Belgian night a couple years back and even for just that one night, they acquired the proper glasses for each beer and served them accordingly. Surely The Maypole, with its reputation as a source for Belgian beer on a daily basis, could easily match the effort my local pub made? Surely. The Maypole is disrespecting us and the beer with each glass it pours. We all deserve better.

A very nice, cosy pub, off the beaten track, but a short hop from two other pubs - the Free Press…read more(also recommended) and the Cricketer (sports TV). This is definitely not touristy Cambridge, which in one way is a pity, because it's much a nicer pub than many that tourists visit in the centre. The interior is very traditional - lots of dark wood - with a single long room. On a freezing winter's night, it was cosily warm, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Clientele seemed a very mixed bunch of locals and students and some (very polite and chatty) heavy-metal fans. A nice touch was the lack of piped music. The main draw is the choice of up to 10 real ales, with some really interesting choices, include a locally-produced ale if you want to keep your food miles down. Food is more limited, with the usual snacks, plus a platter (£5) of either mixed gourmet Swiss and Dutch cheeses, or cheese and sausages, both served with horseradish and pickles, but (oddly) not bread. Overall, a nice pub with a great beer choice.

Q: "Which pub in Cambridge has outdoor seats that get the sun for the longest on a summer evening?" And what a wonderful question it was - taking in maps, local knowledge, astronomy and architectural planning to find the answer. No doubt you've already worked out that the winner is The Elm Tree, but for us it was a stunning surprise as it's the awesome town pub right opposite our text nerd headquarters. We were sitting on a pot of gold defined by the west-facing alleyway. But is 5 stars justified just for beer garden sunshine at 9pm? Not quite... but the Elm Tree is amazing on so many other fronts. A wide selection of Belgian beers with their glasses, superb local real ales, barrels of cider, pork scratchings made by the local butcher, jazz music and a library of books. Plus secret genius bar staff and a great sense of humour. Like the sign says... Great beers No Food Angry Barmen (i think they're joking)

There, was, ummmmmm nothing. I did have a draught carrot Saison - a first even for Craft Jesus! - which was seriously nasty in a bad/good way. Still, if you remember it, somethings going on, right? They have some weird taps and the occasional DIPA, still a rare Craft horse in the UK. It just doesn't come together for me. You have to be 'eating' to sit in the booth area - most unCrafty - and too much hipster dust has settled into the floorboards. My Craft Jesus rating a confused PA/IBA 52 IBU

The interior is very light and there's plenty of seating, with a 'restaurant' section towards the back and more upstairs. We headed straight to the bar when we arrived and looked over the different options. As usual, there were cask and keg available, which you can choose either from looking at the different labels (so sue me, I often choose my drinks based on the design!) or at the large blackboard. They also have some cans and bottles in the fridges, plus wines and spirits are also available. I tried some of the Cambridge Brewhouse's own pale ale - when in Rome and all that - and stuck with it for a couple of pints. It was nice and light, and a great session beer. Service was friendly and reminded me very much of drinking in Manchester; they're more than willing to let you taste a few of the beers and talk you through their favourites on that day. Worth a visit if you're a beer fan.
