Wow! Thanks to Honest Guys Painting, my house looks great again! Our house had not been painted since it was built over 20 years ago and was in desperate need to get it done. I reached out to local painters and received various bids, but ultimately went with Honest Guys Painting. Their bid was competitive, (not the lowest and definitely not the highest!), detailed, and they were able to get me on their schedule rather quickly. This was a big painting/staining job; two-story house with a wrap-around porch, tongue and groove ceiling, large deck and detached ADU/Shop. Nick and his crew showed up on time every day and got straight to work, ensuring that everything not getting painted was covered and safe. They worked as a team, methodically prepping and priming the entire project prior to painting and cleaned up the site at the end of the day with absolutely no drama! Nick was easy to communicate with by phone, text or in person, he frequently updated me on weather forecasts, their progress and we were able to color match the original "Obsolete" house paint, deck and ceiling stain colors perfectly. Since I've retired and living on a fixed income, this was a lot of money for me to spend and I feel like I made a good deal. Honest Guys painted our house in July 2018. From the initial contact through to project completion Nic and his crew were professional, courteous and did a great job. Response to my initial estimate request was prompt and the quote came in about $2k less than the next highest bid and was almost half of the highest bid received. Quality of the work was stellar. They painted the main house, guest cottage, 4-car shop and a small outbuilding. Initially, we were given an estimated project timeline of 2 weeks but the work was finished in 5 days--setup on Monday and touchups on Friday. They moved all the furniture and other items away from the buildings and moved them back into place as well. STOP looking and call these guys!! After a 3+ years-long search and consideration, we went with Honest Guys Painting. The initial consult with Nicholas sold us. He is (truly) honest, listens, and offered suggestions and recommendations -without the up-sell. The job they did is phenomenal. I kid you not; they surpassed even my most hoped for wishes. Our house is old T1-11 that was weather-beaten and very sad. It looks better now than it did when we moved in 30+ years ago! Wish they did facials. Ha! Marcus and Cameron are fantastic. They are efficient, precise, kind, and thoughtful. Was a pleasure to have them around. They worked during an awful heatwave and cleaned up so well, you'd never know they had been here. Except for the newly painted house! Honest Guys weren't the cheapest quote we had, but I wouldn't have wanted the cheapest quote on my property ever again. Nic was very professional and flexible. He and his team were punctual and organized. While I did not have Honest Guys paint my house, I still want to comment on them. I phoned six painters on a weekday to seek bids. Only 3 answered the phone, Honest Guys were one of them. HG were the first to show up to view the job. Nick was on time and professional while he was here to do the estimate. They provided the first written bid. After a week, other bids came in. The HG bid was WAAAY lower than the others and the written estimate included the amount of paint, caulking etc. I thought the HG bid was comparable to the others in everything except price. On the day Nick of HG was coming at my request to clarify aspects of the job, I made other arrangements with a friend of a friend who came highly recommended and I feel a little bad for stiffing them. I am EXTREMELY pleased with HGP! Nick and his crew went above and beyond painting the exterior of my house. I had five bids and his price was very competitive. It is worth noting that prep work is time consuming and many painters cut corners and just do the basics. I was at home during the time they painted my house, and HGP didn't take any prep shortcuts at all. In fact, they spent more time prepping the house than I would have. Hi. We didn't use Nic or his company. It took a while to get back and post review. We got a few bids, 1 was a friend referral but he never gave us a bid. Hence the delay. So, Nics price was fair, although he said it would take about 2 weeks to complete from start to finish, so my hubby wanted to know if that was the norm. 1 bid was double his and said 3 days 3 guys. 1 guy said 1 week and two other guys and him, but no price or estimate. We finally got another and also got bid for middle if Nics n the higher priced company. So, although we didnt it se him, we still might, but life expenses came up. He's got good prices. It may take longer but we don't know how many people he would have. I just thought uh get he deserved a review. Small business supporter, so thank you. We reached out to Honest Guys Painting for an estimate to stain a large cedar home in Steilacoom. We had a specific product we needed to have used for the stain, and the product needed to be hand-brushed (not sprayed). Nick (the owner) was the only person out of about six companies to even provide an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable, and they started the work a couple of weeks later. They arrived on-time every day, worked very hard, and were very professional. Nick was very responsive to questions and was very easy to work with. They finished the job in only a few days (included power-washing, hand-brushing the stain onto the 3,900 sq. ft. home, and staining the large deck), and it looks AMAZING!
