I reached out to local painters and received various bids, but ultimately went with Honest Guys Painting. Their bid was competitive, (not the lowest and definitely not the highest!), detailed, and they were able to get me on their schedule rather quickly. This was a big painting/staining job; two-story house with a wrap-around porch, tongue and groove ceiling, large deck and detached ADU/Shop. Nick and his crew showed up on time every day and got straight to work, ensuring that everything not getting painted was covered and safe. They worked as a team, methodically prepping and priming the entire project prior to painting and cleaned up the site at the end of the day with absolutely no drama! Nick was easy to communicate with by phone, text or in person, he frequently updated me on weather forecasts, their progress and we were able to color match the original "Obsolete" house paint, deck and ceiling stain colors perfectly. Since I've retired and living on a fixed income, this was a lot of money for me to spend and I feel like I made a good deal. Omar and Jose were the main crew. These guys are great to work with and their attention to detail is very good. My house is 122 years old with Cedar shingle siding and trim work that had not been dealt with in years. It was a dififcult project but they knew exactly what to do and they got it done. At first he said he didn't know if he could get the job in before the rains, then called to say he could do it. Worker seemed pleasant and showed up to pressure wash. We had had a request to end early one day due to our schedule, they agreed to the schedule that day, quoting "no problem." The next thing that happens is the worker coming to our house without prior permission, packing up tarps and equipment, then walking off the job, and leaving a total mess of pressure washing paint chips all over our patio and decks, plus leftover equipment. I queried Josh and he says his worker will not be back, leaving me to then do major damage control that included hanging out of my windows to paint and prime exposed raw wood he left fully exposed before the rain. This is a completely unprofessional company, that lacks communication and integrity, and walks off the job on day one if they see the job not turning quick revenue for them. I suspect they thought it would be a quick one and done job that would not permit customer input while in progress. Josh refused to respond to texts, emails or phone calls. I do not recommend this company at all.
